Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A convenient spot next to clam sanctuary and on the way to the wharf. I was the only guest here apart from a local family who left before the evening. The open beach Fale cost 80 tala and it was 30 tala for a lovely fish dinner. Lovely owners who were very kind. They left me to my own devices and gave me a lot of privacy (which would have actually been more welcomed if I was not on my own). Breakfast was also good (see photos). Would have been nice if they had interacted with me a little more but other than that it was a perfect stay. Luckily there was a breeze so I managed to get some sleep in the heat (air conned units were 250 but were pretty basic to I opted for the cheaper options). Thank you for the stay!

Sataoa was a great find, on the coast next to a mangrove swamp. Villas very comfortable with air conditioning and fridges. Comfortable beds. Dinner is not supplied but host will supply quick dinner if requested. Outrigger canoe and kayaks available for a paddle. Well located near Giant Clam Sanctuary.

Stayed 1 night here and I loved it. The quick response from the management and team, the service was just too good. The place is well maintained and clean. Price is very reasonable. Am planning on my next trip here. Try out the karaoke. Worth the stay

I was impressed with the ensuite water front units, travelling alone I considered 60 tala a great price for my own little unit with bathroom, comfortable bed, fridge, balcony with table & chair.
The meals are extra, I had dinner each night and really enjoyed the local fish , crab and selection of local produce nicely cooked.
The beach fales are about 20 minutes walk from the main rd, (or 5 tala by taxi) I travelled by bus from Apia(5 tala) and had no problem finding the place.
The managers are very hospitable and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed- including inviting me to join them on a sightseeing tour. They advised its best to contact them if you want to stay.
It is quite well located if you have a car and want to explore the coast. There is a petrol station very close by ( and plenty of taxis if you dont have a car) Virgin Cove is just one bay along and Matareva Beach & return to paradise are close by if you want to do a beach visit but have a comfortable place to stay. The sataoa beach is mainly just swimmable at high tide, you can also take a ride on a Pao pao (local canoe) to explore the mangroves or along the coast.
I thought it was good value and enjoyed my stay

We stumbled upon this place by chance and where blown away by the friendliness of the owners. We had a little misfortune and bad luck finding a intact place alongside the coast after the damage cyclone Evan did. We arrived apparently so stricken, that we were given a free upgrade to the more comfortable units. We were taken care of really well and enjoyed the atmosphere and especially the awesome food. Sadly the cyclone destroyed the beach, so the color of the water is a little bit muddy since then. But the attitude of the owners made it an unforgettable stay.
