Beach fale accommodation for a traditional Samoan style holiday. Le Valasi’s Beach Fales is run by Ross & Maria Jones who have made Samoa their home since moving over from Australia. Ross & Maria offer Beach Fale accommodation, which in our case is really a palagi house with a Samoan roof. It is fitted with an innersprung bed, table & chairs to be private clean and comfortable. All hotel linen is used PLUS towels are supplied. Separate toilet & shower areas nearby. Dining room, bar, and restaurant in the main fale overlooking Lefaga Bay. The Main Fale is a 60 year old traditional fale built without nails, only using Samoan rope to lash all the ribs, posts & beams together. Ross & Maria have repaired the building to its original glamour since the Cyclone in December 2012. It is one of the few remaining original Samoan houses left in Samoa as more & more families are changing to the conventional Palagi house. Large school groups can be accommodated using the big fale as a sleeping area. Le Valasi’s Beach Fales is located 35km south west of Apia in the heart of Savaia – Lefaga, only half an hour from the airport andaccessible by public transport or taxi service. Ross & Maria can arrange transfer from airport at a small charge.

Sadly we only stayed there for a night, but it was the best night, food and experience we had in Samoa! Helena is a wonderful woman!!! She prepared a beautiful fale for us in a second and cooked the BEST food we ate during our trip! We really enjoyed talking with her and sharing our time with her! We would love to come back just to see her again! THANKS! :)

I wasn't sure if the fales were still open. None of the numbers were working when I called and the last review on here was from last year. I took my chances and rolled up and sure enough, they were open and had a fale available. It seems the phone had not been charged which is why it rung unanswered. The fale is quite nice with a lamp on the table so you can see at night. Shared bathroom facilities are basic but clean. The matriarch is cool, almost cold, but that is just how Samoans are--it was adjustment for me from the brash BULA's of Fiji. The raw fish in coconut milk she made for dinner was divine and the next day she dropped me off further down the road on her way into town. Definitely plan for a swim around the giant clams just out front. There are many of them but the sanctuary area is quite large and it took me about 30 minutes to find where they were hiding.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Helene was very welcoming and happy to explain the Samoan way of life.we arrived too late but would recommend a snorkel to see the giant clams on the coast near their house. We stayed in a fale in the garden which had a comfy bed and solar light.Bathroom facilities were shared and basic but clean. Helenes food was delicious and we would recommend a stay here if you would like a taste of Samoan life.

We stayed a night here during a week long trip cycling and kayaking around Upolo. Helen was an amazing hostess and we very much enjoyed the stay. The giant clam sanctuary was also well worth a visit!!

I enjoyed my stay here although it was short. I was well looked after by Helen and Taula. . The Fale was clean and loved the mats. The bed was comfortable and the mosquito net did not have any holes:-) The meals were great and prepared with great care by Helen and the boys:-) Her company during the meals was also well appreciated. Close to the wayerfront and the Giant Clam Sanctuary.

We loved our stay at Le Valasi's beach fales. The fales were clean, tidy and comfortable, as were the amenities, but it was the hospitality that was the highlight of our stay. We loved the opportunity for conversations with our hosts who were warm, welcoming, helpful and very obliging. The food was fantastic, lots of beautiful fresh foods and Helen very generously accommodated by wheat allergy. Helen was also very generous in caring for the preferences of our teenage children. The snorkelling at the great clams is wonderful (and just across the road so very convenient) There are traditional customs that are observed so the cultural experience is also rich. We would recommend a stay here.

Loved it! Elena is a lovely woman, kind, gentle and helpful. Good to talk to to learn more about Samoa. The fales are great - a step up from a standard fale, more like a garden bedroom. Very quiet and comfortable. Great facilities - bathroom, washing line, etc. Beautiful main fale. And the food! A sort of Samoan/Western fusion. Really enjoyed my stay. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay here, the fales are nice and clean, the food was the best we had in Samoa, and Helen is such a nice woman. The snorkel in front of the fales is amazing! so big clams!! We don't understand why the giant clam Sanctuary is not on the Lonely Planet, its really worth to go.

Authentic Samoan falé accommodation with a little extra comfort. Generous, delicious meals, helpful and knowledgeable host. Elena is a charming well informed lady with plenty of helpful advice. Snorkelling superb, especially giant clams. We were delighted to see local customs being encouraged and observed.

We had a lovely stay at Le Valasi's. Perfect location to stay and go snorkel the nearby Marine Reserve to see the giant clams (they are amazing!!). Elena is a wonderful host and chef. She went out of her way to cook a meat-free dinner for us (one of the best we had in Samoa), and we had many a wonderful and interesting conversation about Samoan culture, traditions and modern-day issues. Her husband who is a Matai (chief) was also wonderful to speak with - he told us more about Samoan culture and the similarities with Maori culture. We stayed at 3 fales within 20km from Savaia, and this is most certainly the nicest Fale to stay at (great conversation, excellent food, very comfortable fale with great bed and even a little table/chairs, nice sheet and a crisp white towel, very clean bathroom, etc). Highly recommended. We stayed in a lot of fale that cost about T70pp and did not regret one second paying T120pp here!

Room Tip: From our fale at the front we had seaviews. Fales at the back of the lush garden look great too.
