Vacations Beach Fales motel
My family and I stayed at Vacations Beach Huts for 2 weeks, and we had a wonderful time. The kids loved swimming in the ocean and playing on the beach.
The food at Vacations Beach Fales is amazing. The restaurant serves breakfast, and dinner, and all of the meals are made with fresh, local ingredients.
We especially loved the seafood dishes, the breakfast, fresh fruit and the taro, which were always cooked to perfection.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. They all have a private balcony or patio, which is a great place to relax and enjoy the ocean views. The rooms also have air conditioning so you can be comfortable no matter what the weather is like.
The staff here are friendly and helpful. They are always willing to go the extra mile to make sure their guests have a great stay.
Overall, we had a wonderful time at Vacations Beach Fales. It is a great place to stay for families or couples who are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable beach vacation. We would highly recommend it to anyone!
Here are some of the things we liked most about Vacations Beach Fales.
* The location is right on the beach.
* The food is excellent.
* The accommodation is clean and comfortable.
* The staff are friendly and helpful.
* The atmosphere is excellent.
Overall, we think this is a great place to stay for a relaxing and enjoyable beach vacation. We will be visiting again.

Bit of a disappointment, first ever visit to Samoa. We arrived in the dark and were assigned our rooms, not quite what we expected. Room was spacious enough but lacked cleanness and on hoping into bed, discovered sand!! Requested clean sheet in the morning and it was delivered. Breakfast and dinner were included in the room rate of 350T but on experiencing two other resorts, it’s a tad expensive for what you get. Staff were lovely and they are endeavouring to improve facilities in the future.

We had a lovely 5 night stay at Vacations Beach Fales. Sharon took excellent care of us and all the other staff were very friendly and helpful too. Booked into an ensuite unit which was ideal, roomy and private. The beach is great for swimming Loved seeing turtles in their natural environment as we were swimming and snorkeling, this was a highlight! Breakfast and dinner included in the room price were lovely. Other families who were staying in fales were very happy with their accommodation too. We would be very happy to return and recommend it to others. Ross and Penny, New Zealand.

We organized our wedding for just the two of us, over the internet, to take place on Feb. 14/09 at Vacation Beach Fales in Manase on the island of Savai'i in Samoa. We heard much praise about this particular fale from various websites and our communication over the internet in the months leading to our trip was good.
We spoke with one person from the fales who provided us with information on how to obtain a marriage licence once we arrived in Samoa and we agreed on a price of 300 Tala for the organization, decorations and food related to our wedding (this quote did not include the "gift" for the pastor to perform our ceremony - we paid that fee separately, 2 meals are also typically included in the accomodation cost, but we were factoring extra money for a special meal that night).
Once we arrived in Samoa on Feb. 1/09, we discovered that the licencing process is more complex than we were lead to believe, but we had a contact number for the fales. The lady we had been dealing with met us in the capital city of Apia to collect our paperwork, copies of our birth certificates and passports and 60 Tala for the associated processing fees. She was then to take all these items to the pastor in Manase who would take it through the proper channels to get us a licence to marry.
When we arrived at the fales in Manase on Feb. 10/09 we were shocked to discover that the lady who met us in Apia was no longer and employee of the fales and it was unclear as to when she left the company (potentially before she met us and took our documents and money). The other staff at the fales knew we were there to get married on the 14th (4 days away) but there were no preparations and no licence.
We sat down with the manager, our newly appointed contact person, the night of the 10th and described our vision for our wedding and the previously agreed upon price of 300 Tala. The price was okayed by the manager and he agreed to obtain our paperwork and money from the employee who took it, get us availability/quotes for local photographers (which we would pay separately), arrange flowers and other decorations and a meal (cost included in our accommodation fees) including a cake. After this conversation with the manager, we were upset at the events that had transpired, but our nerves were calmed by their promises.
We waited for 2 days to hear from them with an update on the marriage licence situation only to discover that in that time no one had contacted the ex-employee to obtain our documents. At that point, we took the matter into our own hands and called the ex-employee ourselves. We had the documents back within 24 hours; however, the money (60 Tala) that we gave her was never returned. Once we received the documents, they were given to the local pastor and we were able to get the marriage licence in time; however, we discovered that the manager forgot to obtain availability/quotes for any photographers. This meant that the day before the wedding we were running around to find a photographer, but luckily a local, amateur photographer agreed to take the pictures and we averted another problem.
At this point we sat down with the owner of the fales to discuss our frustration with the planning of our wedding and to negotiate a reduced cost for the wedding due to the stress of this situation and all the work we were forced to do on our own. The owner apologized and agreed to a lower cost - he quoted us a new price of 150-200 Tala for the wedding, down from 300 Tala.
The day of the wedding went well in spite of all the previous problems; however, the day after the manager approached us at dinner time in front of other guests and informed us that the cost of our wedding went up from the 150-200 Tala discussed 2 nights previous to 800 Tala. Not only had their ex-employee stole 60 Tala from us at the beginning, they were now attempting to steal 600 Tala from us after the fact. It is also important to mention that during the course of our stay, we also had a number of items stolen from inside our fale, including shoes and food. Considering everything, we decided to cut our losses and leave the fales 3 days early. With much argument from the manager (the owner was no where in sight), we paid the 300 Tala we originally agreed on and our accommodation fees for the nights we stayed and with tears of frustration we left Vacation Beach Fales. We received no apologies from them then or in the time since.
I would never recommend anyone to get married there, or even vacation there; it is quite clear to us that they are used to taking advantage of tourists. We felt that their treatment of us was abusive and close to criminal and it is very disappointing that a number of problems interfered with our plan to have a quiet, stress-free wedding in paradise.

We arrive here on Saturday 20th to find we had to pay cash up front.when we made the booking with booking .com with our credit card months before.hit a tree stump in middle of the car park, fales are advertise as bungalow s you don't get a bungalow but pay the price for them,we left 3 days into our week stay after construction started on the sea wall, they destroy the beach front ,the resort owners knew of this but still sold accomadition knowing this months a head.all this from me a person who stayed here before, total turn around.bad bad.top of other people left early in their stay, some angry at being poorly treated .

Manase is a laid back beach town. We were in the South Pacific for seven weeks on assignment in American Samoa, had to do some work in Apia and had several extra days of down time. We stayed at Vacations on the recommendation of a travel agent in A.S., were not disappointed and would go back to Vacation's anytime. The food is excellent and don't miss the traditional Sunday Samoan feast - wonderfully awesome. The service is spectactular and the Vailima's are cold. Great value. One family actually moved from another fale resort to Vacations while we were there. Can't beat the reef snorkling right out front, blue starfish, colorful coral and reef rish. The beach is amazing. Savai'i is a gorgeous island and truly one of the last untouched places, everything you picture a South Pacific island paradise should be. To the beautiful Samoan culture and warm friendly people. Fa'afetai le fa'aloalo.

I visited this place in 2004 when it was the place to be on Manase beach - it is no longer the case.
This place has been destroyed by cyclone damage - both the over water deck and the fales plus their associated furniture are in terrible condition and have not been repaired even though this happened in 2009.
The restaurant is atmosphere-less. The girls who work here look sullen and make no attempt to create an atmosphere and help you enjoy your stay. They shove the food in front of you, they remove the plates and collect your money - nothing more - nothing less.
The fale's themselves are dark and furniture free apart from a bed and mosquito net. Simple conveniences found elsewhere such as a foot wash bucket are absent - it would take minimal effort to make this place glorious again but there is a profound lack of interest.
Stay at Tanu or Jane's instead. Vacations has been and gone.

We recently stayed at Vacations for 3 nights. "we" being 2 couples in our late 50es. It was the end of March and we had worried about the weather, but it turned out to be the perfect tropical holiday we had imagined! The good thing was that we practically were in Manase on our own. Hardly anyone in the whole area....which was wonderful :-) . Probably very different in the main season.
Be prepared for basic in the literal sense of the word. The fales are equipped with a bed and a mosquito net, and a string you can hang towels or clothes on...and that is it. Privacy is created by lowering palm leaf "blinds". The walls are trellis. The view is to die for. We LOVED it
There are two toilet cubicles and a shower room for each sex and they are kept nice and tidy....but part of it is up to yourself, not dragging in sand.
The fales are under lovely big shady trees and coconut palms ( safely away from where you sit :-) . We only saw few mozzies but were glad we had mozzie net and coils.
Recent stormy weather has removed a lot of sand on the beach and made the dining room deck unstable, so it was closed off. It did not matter a lot as it was pleasant to sit under the tall timbers with dinner and breakfast, and we still had wonderful ocean views. The beach is still there, but the stairs now stop about a meter above the beach, but you can still safely step down from the rocks. The beach is great at low tide when the water is clear. At high tide it becomes murky, BUT that is when the sea-turtles comes in!!! We sat and watched them for hours, grazing on the bottom and coming up for air. Just walk a few hundred meters to the left and the water is clear again...and the reef there is in better shape....but no sea-turtles ;-)
The food was lovely. There is no menu, you get what the cook chooses to cook and it is served up on a plate. It was a lovely, tasty mix of Samoan and western food. Breakfast was pawpaw, bananas, coconut and freshly baked bread with a variation of eggs. When we got peckish we went to the service station across the road and bought local stuff.
Things were laid-back, friendly, quiet and totally pleasant. Staff was great, Ulu and the the rest of the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and comfortable. At WST 90 pp pr night ( dinner bed and breakfast) we thought it was a bargain!!!
We had booked transport from ferry to Manase and back from Savaii Transfers in Salelolga and it cost us wst 200 for the 4 of us return.
Thank you Vacations Beach Fales...we had a dream holiday!

I had stayed here previously and the fales and service was great - with the bakery just across the road to cater for cheap lunches.
The owners have split leaving the husband to run the accommodation. The owners wife, receptionist and baker have left - leaving the nephew in charge. I had booked and paid for 6 days in advance. When I arrived the nephew had no idea i was coming so our room was not ready - honesly there were only 2 other couples there - how long would it take to throw a couple of mattress in a fale with mosquito nettings - their pace was snail pace. he nephew asked me to show proof of my booking - which luckily I had bought email copies with me. The water in the showers were constantly turned off, toilet paper kept running out and the shower tap was a metal tool hanging off where the knob should have been. The staff only did what they needed to do - serve food, socialising with visitors didnt seem to be part of their job. By 8.30am everything was shut down, all staff gone for the day so you had to just hang out in your fale. New people kept coming but would only stay one night and be unhappy and leave the next day and move down the road to Tanu Beach Fales - which I discovered later was a happening place with happy guests and staff - when our 6 days were up we moved down the road for our final 2 days. The most people that would be there at any one time would be 6 guests. The nephew would also overcharge people - we had new friends come in and check with us the price of the accommodation and he would have overcharged. You couldnt use the phone without the nephew sitting there right in front of you - i dont think he knows the word privacy.

We stayed in the only 'room' as we wern't wanting a fale. It looked newly built and nice from the outside, although the fridge smelled like something died and was decomposing inside. We had a kitchen with no cups, cutlery, plates ect...
There was a lot of lizard poo in the cupboards, and when we asked the staff about it, they acknowledged it - but never came to clean it out.
From 7 am until late at night the 'boom box' was on high with the bass turned up until it distorded. This may not have been so bad if we were listening to traditional samoan music, however the same r 'n' b, hip hop crap was played over and over and over ....
I've heard Vacations used to be quiet a nice place to stay, however our stay was not a pleasent one, there were a lot of things that could be improved for a more enjoyable stay.
