Set amidst exotic tropical garden and fringed by the most magnificent blue lagoon is Amoa Resort. Newly renovated our restaurant overlooks the stunning lagoon and swimming pool. Intimate bungalows and villas with shady terraces are scattered over hillside gardens, and emblazoned with brightly colored hibiscus blossoms, tropical flowers, swaying palms and manicured lawns. The ambiance is more like that of a private house than a resort. The relaxing environment of Faga village and the tranquility of its lazy days must be experienced.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed here 3 nights as a base location to tour Savaii. The staff were very positive and always happy to help with any requests. They were always happy to chat about what we had planned each day and provide some local tips or suggestions.
We stayed in a Poolside Villa and found the room very clean and comfortable. The resort itself is not too large and as a result makes it feel much more safe to children to walk around. If you are travelling with children I suggest a poolside room as the kids can move freely between the restaurant, pool and room.
The breakfast is continental with the breakfast menu as well. There was live music two of the nights we were there from local band which provide a wonderful environment. We had different specials every night and the food was fantastic.
I highly recommend this resort as the location is a perfect base for exploring the island and don't forget to ask for local tips. ;)

Second time stayed at this resort and noted a change in service. The staff were more interactive and a smile here and there... though a free breakfast is included (thanks), a change up in selection would be an ideal. This resort has a lot more improvements to make to what they were. It is a beautiful location, has its own exclusive beach area, and walking distance to a shop if you want to stock up on drinks and food. The room allocated this time round was an older bangalow facing the beach/road. It has a calm, relaxing vibe to it the outdoor shower could use amenities holder as we had nowhere to place our soap, scrub.

The staff were so friendly and willing to assist. They were all amazing and I loved the dinner performances. The room was spacious and clean and the shower was cool although the open roof meant that the bathroom flooded during a particularly hard rain storm, but the staff attended right away to clean up the water. The only issues were that the furnishings in the rooms could be updated and the menu could have more variety, but otherwise no issues and would recommend this resort to others. The daily activities were also enjoyable.

The staff are exceptional, super helpful, friendly and available, couldn’t fault them.
The hotel itself is well kept, clean and tidy. Great lagoon over the road. We paid extra to upgrade to a “poolside” villa, not worth it. Make sure to request one of the renovated rooms if you do go poolside. We got an original room, there is no safe, no clothesline, the outdoor shower had all the plants removed and was a haven for cockroaches, that was very unpleasant. The renovated rooms (which cost the same) had an indoor shower as well and were so much nicer. Our room had no cabinetry, nowhere to unpack your bags so they stayed on the floor. The king bed mattress was old and had hard springs poking up in various places, it was pretty uncomfortable. Our friends in a renovated room (paid the same) had beautiful mattresses.
Rooms weren’t cleaned unless you ask, and when we asked they didn’t change the sheets or towels just remade the bed and wiped down the bathroom. For the money we paid I was not happy about this.
The food was hit and miss, some dishes were fantastic but we had a large group and often food arrived cold. Tasty but cold, and definitely not cheap.
Overall it is a nice hotel and the staff are amazing, the cocktails delicious and we had a good time but I feel it is overpriced for what it is. I would stay again but I’d take a standard room (which were lovely !) over a poolside villa.

The rooms are spacious and huge. Our room paid for before we arrived (this is for 4 people), we arrived with only 2 towels in the room (its policy apparently but they will get you the right amount of towels after you tell them, but if I have paid for 4 people, I would still expect 4 towels), there are no phones in the room so you do quite a bit of walking to and from reception for things until you have their number. Absolutely no internet reception in the room. The village water was out one morning and that impacted the hotel stayers, we utilised our own purchased water bottles to brush our teeth, clean ourselves up and also flush the toilet. No room service. There were no pool towels available during our stay. Staff are lovely, food is overpriced.

Responded 21 Feb 2024
Talofa Lava, Thank you for your feedback in letting us know how your experience was during your recent stay with us. We sincerely apologise for the shortfalls, which is was not to your expectation. Yes there are no phones in the room and additional towels are to be supplied once guests arrive and confirm amount booked in. If any of this was not done with priority we sincerely apologise. Water on island normally is not an issue with supply, however what happened on that morning was an occurrence that was beyond our control. All of our guests we offered complimentary water from our team that day and if you did pay for extra water then we would be more than happy to credit you for these. We genuinely appreciate the time our guests take to provide us with feedback take in on board to ensure we strive to make Amoa a wonderful place to visit and recommend. Please reach out to our Manager at corporate@amoaresort.com if there is anything else we can assist you further with regarding the above. Safe Travels and Tofa Soifua

Most amazing setting with beautifully clear blue water in their man made lagoon across from the resort. It ended there no extra bed for our 5th person in our room and a pitiful free breakfast.
Spent 12 years in Asia staying at some nice resorts and the service was top notch at the Amoa it was lack lustre.
We had booked online and had only been able to book a unit for 4 people and we added the comment that we had a 5th person and requested an extra bed. When we were arrived I asked if we could have an extra bed and was told no. I asked for a Samoan mat that I would have slept on the floor so that the rest of my family would have been comfortable and was told no.
I then asked for an extra sheet as the air con was quite cold and we needed an extra sheet and nothing came to our room. I went to ring the main desk again to find there are no phones in the rooms.
The free breakfast did not offer anything substantial but 3 choices of cereal, fresh fruit, a hot Samoan treat of ko pai on day 1 and Koko rice on Day 2. When this ran out it was not replenished either. Had warm milk that was sitting on ice, why it wasn’t refrigerated I have no idea.
2 toasters were operating with bread that was refrigerated and did not feel fresh. Strange as on the other island there are numerous bakeries which bake fresh bread daily.
Drinks on offer were water where the glasses ran out and were not topped up and the water once the dispenser was empty was not topped up.
On top of this I would have expected freshly brewed local coffee maybe from Aleisa but they had a big can of Bushells instant coffee and tea bags and a hot water urn. Why not show off local coffee growers.
If they were running their kitchen on a budget. Eggs are cheap in Samoa so they could have had an egg station where a staff member specialising in cooking omelettes, scrambled, poached, fried eggs would have been adequate enough but nothing.
They had a waiter come around to our table to tell us if we wanted that we had to order and pay for it.
Seeing how the big resort chains run their resorts this failed miserably. One thing they could say was top notch was their environment. Their lagoon I would have to say is hard to beat. If they can just get the rest of their service right they will be sitting on a winner.
We also went out at night to see if there were any local restaurants out there and unfortunately nothing at all. Harbourview was closed on the 1st and 2nd and the only place they was open was a dodgy looking fast food joint called RTV which was actually half decent and fed the entire family for 100 tala.
We were looking for a more substantial restaurant but there were none to be found.

We stayed in the interconnecting rooms but unfortunately there was no key which means we had to walk outside. Rooms are spacious which is nice. Book and paid in advance for 7 people but only provided 4 towels in the rooms. These should have been organised in advance rather than later. Had to call reception via my mobile to let them know as there’s no phones in the room. Pool towels are a shortage always. Paid ST$15 for wifi and couldn’t get any wifi range from rooms 14 and 15. No one lets you know if water is not running so was unable to shower or flush the toilets in the morning. Not much variety for complimentary breakfast every day. They use to have boiled eggs and porridge but not this time. However you can purchase other breakfast food. Food prices can be expensive depending on what you purchase but they do taste delicious. The positive experience would be the staff. Always serving with a smile.

We had a most disappointing stay at the Amoa resort Savaii. I'll start with the positive. The resort is in an excellent position, close to the town of Salalonger and the wharf. The sea and grassed area directly opposite the hotel is well kept and you are able to use the hotel kayaks free of charge. The nightly entertainment is good and sets the scene for a relaxing evening. Now for the negative. The hotel is poorly run. The breakfast was completely inadequate. The rooms were extremely basic. The shower never had hot running water, was full of cockroachs and the towels had holes in them. They also ran out of shampoo during our stay. The housekeeping wasn't great. Our beds were made each day but that was it. Showers certainly weren't cleaned. The restaurant served chicken or fish and chips every night. Again they had run out of pizza during our stay. Thankfully we have now moved to Kuki by the harbour which is fabulous. That was our first stay at Amoa and will certainly be our last. Its definitely overpriced for what you get at £165 a night.

We spent 3 nights at Amoa Resort to celebrate my birthday and it was such a wonderful experience. We received a warm welcoming with smiling faces and a cool lemonade drink upon arrival.
The rooms are very spacious, clean and we were visited daily by the housekeepers to clean and change our towels, it was quite an experience showering under the open skies, my kids loved it. The grounds are very well kept and it was just a beautiful and well maintained resort.
The food was great and the staff asked us to put in our orders early so we didn't have to wait long to get our food, this worked out well for us especially with the kids, they loved their Pizzas. The staff at the kitchen and bar were so friendly and courteous, Aitulati always greeted us with her beautiful smile and Tiitii and Iosua went out of their way to accommodate the many food requests we had, they were amazing.
We had such a great time , thank you to the beautiful ladies Liz and Olivia who went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. Thank you Amoa for an amazing stay, thank you to your wonderful staff for making our stay comfortable and memorable, this definitely will not be the last time we visit beautiful Savaii and the beautiful Amoa Resort.

Amoa is a beautiful resort and we were happy to come back again to enjoy the hospitality and location. This resort is a 15 minute drive after getting g off the ferry and has an amazing jetty to jump from into the most amazing clear blue ocean. It is close to the main port and waterfalls.
We love the outdoor shower and the size of the room. The breakfast buffet was great and loved eating different Samoan dishes each morning, as well as the fruit, papaya and coconut for breakfast is a bonus.
The resort has aged a little but we will still go back when we visit Savai’i.

Hi - Amoa is that bit further - 1 hour ferry ride from Upolu then 20 mins by taxi - but worth it. Very quiet, laid-back & relaxing. The food is delicious - especially the palusami arancini - an absolute must try. The pool is lovely & the water across the road is very clear - great for snorkeling & very warm. If it's relaxation, swimming & snorkeling you're after then this is the place - otherwise, there's not a whole lot to do
You can swim at low time and Snorkling was very good.
Talofa KarenR6, Thank you for your question. Our resort is family friendly however as we are boutique (11 bungalows and villas) and children use the same pool area you will find we are not over crowded at the poolside most of the year round. Please let us know if you require any further ingormation about planning your next stay at Amoa Resort. Faafetai
