The accommodation is basic, but the location, the hosts and the food is not. Highly recommend a few nights here swimming with the turtles and enjoying the most delicious breakfasts and dinners including pancakes and paw paw, fish curry served with breadfruit and palusami. There were always generous helpings from our hosts who went out of their way to look after us.

The fales were fantastic, and the hosts were so lovely. Leti was very generous in taking the time to give us all sorts of local tips before we arrived. The dinner was absolutely delicious. When a storm rolled in, our hosts took great measures to ensure everyone felt safe and comfortable. Despite the stormy weather we slept great and felt very well looked after.

What can I say except that this place is perfect for what I was looking for. I ve spent 5 nights in a front beach Fale and I loved it ! Very peaceful place with an amazing vue to the lagoon (10meters away from the Fale). I ve seen turtles swimming in the lagoon everyday. This place is very peaceful, I ve spent my time watching the lagoon listening the waves and talking with the awesome travelers that I ve met out there. I keep the best for the end.. Lua, the host is the best, she took very well care of me, her cooking is wonderful, I swear that you are never hungry out there. We had delicious and different meal every day. Breakfast and dinner are included who makes the place very cheap for what this is. We ( me and my new traveler mates) shared the ava with the owner family, I celebrated my 30th out there, I had an unforgettable time!! I recommend this place and will definitely go back there. Thanks again to Lua and the owner family who made my stay awsome. Very warm and peaceful atmosphere.

If you're coming here, don't expect five star. Expect a nice stay on the beach with a family environment. Food and beach were lovely - our fale was less than five metres from the ocean at high tide. Fale was built for short people, so be careful on the balcony area and when entering them (one near concussion later). We also had holes in our mosquito nets. When we checked out there was a lot of confusion about us booking through Expedia and requests were made for additional payment.
If you are booking through this service you need to make sure you have all details of your booking, to avoid the confusion we had which definitely soured our stay at Tailua.

I arrived there by chance and definitely the place is from far the best i ve tried in savaii. Located straight on the beach, i always felt very secure and the family has been very careful for everything.
Really affordable

We spent five nights at Tailua in June with a 10 month old and a 2 year old and recommend it. Originally planned to stay 3 nights and extended our stay it was so wonderful and relaxing. The six fales are all absolute beach front, well spaced, and surrounded by grass. Good size, in good condition, with electric lights and mosquito nets. We wandered along the beach at Manase and felt very lucky to be at Tailua. Hosts (Ina and Titi) were welcoming and helpful, even helping with the kids while we ate. Food was better than expected – breakfasts of fresh fruit, eggs and toast. Dinner was plentiful, decent, and lots of fresh veges. Help-yourself bananas. There’s no website or email booking, but don’t be put off by the extra difficulty factor – we booked by email through Sita at Raci’s Beach Club and it all went like clockwork. Exceptional good value. BTW the pizza from the Italian pizza place near Le Lagoto is great. If you call and order (at Raci’s or ask Ina/Titi) they will deliver for 5 tala. I was concerned about this style of accommodation with kids, but it was perfect. Andd the absolute beachfront, food etc was better than several of the resorts we visited (e.g. le lagoto). Manase a very pretty village, good beach (high tide swimming much better than low tide), recommend over Lano.

We chose Tailua after reading some rave reviews about the food and we were not disappointed. We even ended up extending our stay from 2 nights to 3 as we liked it so much. Lua takes great care of you and makes delicious food. The fales are spacious and bright unlike any others we stayed in. There are beautiful views of the sea from your private balcony. We really enjoyed the communal dining with delicious breakfasts and dinners included. Our favourite was the sweet chicken. There is always more food available as well as water, tea and coffee always on offer. The bathroom facilities like all on Savaii were basic but did the job. We highly recommend all visitors to Savaii to stay. Thank you Lua.

I was impressed with the cleanliness of the fales and showers and toilets. We were quoted 70 tala per night including breakfast and dinner. Although we didn't stay here as we were booked in to an adjacent resort that was terribly run down, i will return and give these lovely and friendly people my business.

We were going to stay one night in this beach fale in Savaii however after arriving here and experiencing the beautiful samoan hospitality, we ended up staying three nights. Lua takes great care of you and spends much time cooking delicious meals (chicken and pumpkin, fish, omelettes, pancakes) just for you after a long day of snorkelling. She has a heart of gold and nothing is too much trouble, she is a beautiful person. If you like somewhere simple and not pretentious, stay here, you wont regret it! Thanks Tailuas!

We had a wonderful time staying at Tailua and enjoying the warm Samoan hospitality. In fact my two daughters loved it so much that we pretty much stayed there the whole time without doing many excursions; swimming, snorkelling, reading, meeting other travellers, eating the home cooked meals and going for drinks at the bar next door and walking back along the beach in the moonshine. We will be back to enjoy the Samoan way of life and the serenity of this magical place. Thank you for the warm-hearted hospitality extended to us!

We just paid when we got there. The first day we got on but when we came back we had to wait in stand by and didn’t get in until the second ferry. It was about 110 tala each way for a car and 2 passengers.

There is normally a crush of people coming off the ferry to catch the buses. You have to be fast. Follow the crowd and look for the Itu O Tane sign above the driver pay when you get off ( 10 tala will cover it) Always taxis at the ferry about 80 tala to Manase- ask the price before you leave, pay when you arrive
There are prices quoted which vary greatly depending on which site you look at. They start at 80 (WST) per night per person and goes up from there. We had an interesting time with our booking so I suggest you email them direct or even call Lua directly. The email and Phone number is on their Facebook page. Tailua Beach Fales. Hope this helps.
However you book make sure you ring two days before you arrive to confirm your booking.
There are more places to choose from in the Savai'i area.
