My partner and I stayed in the Tailua Fales at the beginning of October of this year and came away agreeing they were our favourite. The two women who run the fales and cooked our food were so hospitable and really treat you like a family member. You never go hungry! The food was also the best we had eaten. It was all fresh and absolutely delicious. The fales were very clean and spacious. They had a good light, mosquito net and plug socket. Our bed was a tiny bit uncomfy but not enough to complain about. I really wish I had another trip planned to come back :( P.s. Go to the petrol station across the road and get some banana ice-cream. It's unreal. Thank you Tailua Fales!!
Yes, yes yes. Tailua was a definite good place to take that chill pill, slow down and read that book. The lovely Lua looked after us. She was a good cook and was attentive to our needs. The other staff, family members, were also really considerate and friendly. Good snorkelling immediately in front of the fales. Individual fales were well laid out with raised beds and mosquito nets. Shared bathroom was no problem, but could have cleaned the floor a few more times. No hot water, but didnt need it, outside temperature was so hot day and night. Small bar service in main room, which had a lovely outlook across the water, as did all the fales. Free bananas available at all times. Service station 70m down the road supplied whatever else you needed.
Stayed 1 night in the beach fale. It is right on the "beach" which is actually a small area of sand, but view is fantastic. There is a real bed inside the fale. Dinner and breakfast are included when staying there. Quiet at night, great for relaxing during the day. Good food, friendly staff. There is a Western Union just across to change cash and a small shop to buy water / snacks. Buses do not run regularly, I would suggest to rent a car while on the island.
We loved our stay here. A beautiful spot right on the beach. Lua and Ieti are really helpful and we loved the delicious homemade Samoan dinners and breakfast. We really enjoyed exploring Manase village, there are a few resorts close by that you can go to for lunch or for a drink. We would definitely recommend.
Had the place to ourselves! Generous dinner serving. As very quite got a discounted rate to stay. Raised bed which was a treat for a fale. Some holes in mossie nets which need fixing. Big waves against the beach wall all night!
