Comfortable and homey...with a little bit of funky! Carl and Pricilla are great hosts and look after you well. The food is good, so be sure to try more than just breakfast! Staff arrives around 7:15 or so in the morning, so if you need something before that (breakfast, coffee, take a walk) make arrangements to get out...you’ll be locked in at night and need to know where they key is....same if you stay out late. You’re a bit removed from the bars & blaring music of the discos, but nothing is a far walk. There a nice masseuse across the street and plenty of restaurants & coffee shops nearby. Carl will help you find activities around town, if needed. They provide a pitcher of filtered water in your room and a water station in the kitchen for refilling bottles with potable water. Sit in the living room area and sip a cup of coffee or tea- or wine and relax. A nice place to stay!

The slowdown in global tourism after lockdown has certainly not affected Karl and Priscilla's grand hospitality. There may be fancier and more expensive places in Banos, but it would be absurd to stay elswhere. Great breakfast, attentive service, and warm ambience. I felt like I was staying in the spare room of a friend's house. The location near the foot of the waterfall is wonderful, and the thermal baths are a 5 minute walk down the street.

This is the best value for a few days in Banos, and I will be recommending it to all travelers passing through.

A wonderful old mansion, furnished with antiques and paneled in dark wood. It is run by a couple named Priscilla and Karl. They are wonderful. The rooms are decorated with original local art, in a variety of styles. (The room I choose had impressionist paintings) From the balcony I could watch the moon rise over the Cascada de La Virgen. Included was a real cooked breakfast (actual cloth napkins, not serviettes), with beverage choices that include Ecuadorian hot chocolate, possible the best chocolate in the world. The town squares, with shops, cafes, and tour agencies, are only four blocks away, and the Thermal Baths are only a block away. I hated to leave.

The managers at La Posada de Arte helped us feel at home from the minute we arrived. Karl and Prescilla are very kind and welcoming. Rooms are clean and cleaned every day. Towels and other amenities replenished. Also, the managers helped us schedule things like Bike tours and massages. Lastly, the hotel is in a perfect location being just a 2 minute walk from the hot springs in one direction and less then 5 minutes to the town center in the other direction. It’s quiet at night and we woke up every morning to the calming sound of a waterfall.

Our group (3 of us) stayed at La Posada del Arte during our 3 day stay in Banos. The location with a view of the waterfall was perfect, right by the thermal baths and within a short walking distance of the main square (where the cathedral and many shops and restaurants are located). The room was clean and had all of the amenities that we needed for our stay. The owners Karl and Priscilla were great hosts to us. Priscilla prepared us a fantastic breakfast each morning (I am seriously missing her mora juice as I write this from back home) and Karl went out of his way to purchase a bottle of champagne for my birthday! They even have an adorable dog named Lika who my boyfriend and I fell in love with! I would recommend their accommodation to anyone visiting Banos.

Our family stayed at La Posada del Arte during Christmas week of 2021. It was the perfect place to stay in Banos! Located just steps from the hot springs but out of the noisy part of town, it was the ideal spot. One of our rooms had a view of the waterfall which was beautiful and provided a nice sound at night. Both of our rooms were beautifully decorated with Ecuadorian fabrics and artwork. They were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast each morning was amazing! Omelettes, pancakes, huevos rancheros, fruit, yogurt, hot chocolate! We ate in the beautiful garden each morning, often with classical music wafting from the kitchen. It was heavenly! Priscilla and Carl are just the consummate hosts, and we enjoyed getting to know them! Overall, the only downside of staying at La Posada is having to say goodbye at the end of your trip! We hope to come back again.

This lovely hotel with characterful rooms and a garden is located close to the Termas de la Virgen. Owners Karl (British) and Priscilla (Ecuadorian) afforded us a warm welcome and even invited us to join their New Year celebrations. They arranged an excellent private tour of the Ruta de las Cascadas with José. They also offer their guests free loan of bathing caps and towels for the hot springs. Our room was comfortable and had a small balcony and a lovely garden view. Breakfast was plentiful, and although the breakfast menu had prices on it, breakfast was in fact included in the room rate.
Also, check out the really good Italian restaurant Carpe Diem nearby.

We had the pleasure of staying here in January, 2020, for ten days. We loved everything about it. The hosts, Carl & Priscilla, were so kind and helpful. Every breakfast we had was absolutely wonderful. We ate dinner there several times too, and it was delicious. It was so nice to have the option to just come downstairs and have dinner after a long day of activities and not have to go out! Our room had a view of the waterfall with a balcony where we could go out and sit and relax. The bed was comfortable, it was quiet, and we slept great. All the staff we had contact with were so nice and took good care of us. Our room was always clean and we had everything we needed. We loved all the artwork in the hotel. It was fun and homey. It was an easy walk to anywhere we wanted to go in Banos. We would love to come back again sometime. We think it is the best place to stay in Banos and highly recommend it!

We stopped in Banos for one night and happily stayed at Hostel Posada Del Arte. It was chosen for us by Happy Gringo Travel company and we loved it. The room was spacious and very clean. The managers, Carl and Priscilla, welcomed us warmly and had a lovely bouquet of flowers in our room for our birthdays. How nice! They offered good suggestions for eating places in Banos and even let us taste their cache of chocolate sauce. Breakfasts were yummy with fresh fruit juice for some new fruit. We had a lovely time chatting with them in the evenings and happily recommend their hotel.

So happy we stayed an extra night here in Baños! We stayed on the second story above the courtyard and loved it! Breakfast is amazing, the eggs ranchero is a must! Every single member of the staff we met was friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for getting around Baños on foot while keeping you out of the "liveliest" parts so you can rest well at night. We were able to park our motorcycle in the courtyard so we didn't have to worry about it during our stay which was great.
