We only spent a night after a road trip to Patagonia.
The Hotel is an old building, very well kept (however some minor details could be improved). You feel the vibe of the 40's.
Decent breakfast, the mattresses were a little bit worn down.
Friendly staff.

Very impressive hotel, until you find out the A/C is not working (was 41c) and the wi-fi also not working, but the give us another room and that was fine, the location is great right in the middle of all the action, the lobby, the restaurant and the stairs are something to see, if going back we will give them a second chance

As soon as I walked in the lobby I was charmed by this hotel. Beautiful decor of the first decades of the 20th century: wood, gold and marble.
Because of the hot weather we took a room with airco and got room on the second floor with a balcony on the street side and very high ceilings. Yes, there was street noise but standing on the balcony with the stone lions looking down on you, certainly made up for this.
Behind the hotel is a big parking space that guests can use for an additional fee.

Breakfast was the usual affair in a business hotel.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed here as recommended for location (downtown). But I totally regret staying here.
I paid hotel rate, and got motel service.
It is an old building, which seemed cozy at the beginning, but as soon as I got into the room, I saw it was not worthy.
My first impression, as I reached the reception, was like a not interested person, that seemed to be annoyed for something, didn´t even say hello to me.
The bed had a so cheap mattress that felt like an air mattress. Horrible.
Then, the bathroom, is so old fashioned, that it had a leak, making an annoying noise all the time.
At night cable TV and internet was down, and was not even solved, when I left in the morning.
I will never go back there, and I recommend you many other options in town.

This hotel is half a block from the central square in Bahia Blanca and what a gem! An older hotel with a wood paneled loby, lots of art deco features and it has been maintained in great shape.

The staff couldn't be more helpful and while the rooms aren't huge, they are sparkling clean with high ceilings and all the amenities. Request an inside room with air conditioning and you will be pleased with your rest - beds are good.

The breakfast was the best we had in Argentina - more than the usual media lunas and coffee - eggs, ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt and more.

Wonderful surprise and good place from which to explore the city.

If you find yourself in Bahia Blanca as my wife and I did in March, on our 6500km road trip in Argentina, then the only place to stay in this city is the General Muniz Hotel right in downtown. It is right out of the Great Gatsby. we bumped into Humphry Bogart in the sitting room. He was waiting for a "chick".
The reception was great and the attention we received was wonderful, we were right at home. We took a Suite which was very reasonable. marble floors, wood paneling, olde worlde lift ...clunkety clunk... If you are looking for an experience occasion this is for you. if you are looking for ultra modern....then not for you. we will return.

Were not able to sleep in the night.
Lots of noice from pipes out side the windows. Your sleep is very important, as a travel technician, and being awakened every hour, is not good for every one.
I stayed in 6 different rooms, as i were working different Places in Argentina, comming back was new Challengers. One was not cleaned before use.
My experiance made me feel really greatful, to move to another hotel in town.

I stayed here on a 5 day business trip. Very convenient location to the central plaza. My favorite part of this hotel was the VERY old elevator and the crafted wood interior. The service was great. The rooms are dated for sure and the beds could be upgraded as could the linens/towels. It was a pleasant stay for the price.

My booking at another hotel was incorrect, and I ended up staying at Hotel Muniz for 1 night. The reception and lobby area had a colonial charm to them. The bathroom in the hotel room appeared to have been recently renovated, and was therefore in good condition. The location of the hotel is very good, near to shops and the central square. The beds were a bit worn, soft and lumpy. The breakfast was the usual fare for cheaper hotels in Argentina; medialunas and dulce de leche; but thankfully the medialunas were plentiful.
My biggest complaint about the Hotel Muniz was that Wifi does not work for any iOS devices. I could not connect, and therefore asked for help, and was told that, "it does not work for Apple devices, and they don't know why".

We stayed here December 2011. The rooms are inadequate, have not been updated for years, no air conditioning. Good parking in back, free WiFi in room although the connection was slow. Very nice staff, and nice lobby. Good area for walking around, 1 block from central plaza.
