This is our second time staying at Woodlands and we were again super impressed with all aspects of our stay. One of the main reasons we chose Woodlands was because they are pet friendly and we like to travel with our 2 small dogs. Check-in and check-out were contactless and very well organized by the manager. The setting is beautiful, with the studio rooms perched on the edge of a verdant forest ravine with beautiful views from the spacious veranda – a great place to watch the sunset. There is also a very nice short hiking trail that descends into the ravine. The grounds are quite interesting with a lot of artsy and quirky touches. It is a bit far out of Knysna, about 15min, but a pleasant drive.

Our studio unit was fantastic, perfect for 2 people. The room was spacious, bright, and airy with great views of the ravine from the veranda doors. All of the fixtures, fittings, and furniture were high quality and well-maintained. The kitchen was roomy and fully equipped for any cooking activities you can imagine. There is a good AC unit which kept us nice and warm on the cold winter nights. There is also free Wifi internet and DSTV with a decent range of channels to watch. We felt like we were living in luxury!

Overall we had an excellent stay and would definitely stay here again given the opportunity. Highly recommended to other travelers as a good base for the Knysna area.

Most gracious host Julie welcomed me upon arrival with such warmth and I felt at home and special, Reacher my lovable furry friend greeted me every day, walked the trail ahead of me and looked back every time to make sure I’m ok 😊 ❤ , something I will hold in my heart forever ❤

WOODLANDS. It's a serene sanctuary with the most beautifully decorated, clean spacious luxury rooms with all sorts of luxuries, spectacular views from the deck lazing in the hammock sipping coffee in the morning listening to chirping of birds, reading a book in the afternoon or enjoying sundowners with the most admirable sunsets.

Its evident Woodlands has been built with so much love and care, with lots of homely touch, their personal own attention to detail you can feel it in every corner, in every step taking the forest walk with its own private path to get in touch with nature and allow your inner peace to flow and experience this unique sanctuary. Nature so glorious, magnificent and mysteriously enchanting.

There truly is a spiritual magic there. If you are looking for a spiritual retreat in a sublime, natural setting then head out to WOODLANDS for solitude and serenity, to understand what is peace and calmness.

If you desire more activity, beautiful beaches and the sweet town of Knysna, Sedgefield are a short drive away and don’t miss out on the Wild Oats Community Farmer’s Market in Sedgefield

It was a sublime peaceful weekend with no cell phone connectivity that gave me a chance to cut off from my bruised spirit to reconnect and be at peace with myself. Will relish this memorable trip forever and looking forward to another visit!!!!!

PS: for the techno crazy the wi-fi signal is excellent, but I recommend ignore the techno gadgets and enjoy the offerings at WOODLANDS!!!!!

We stayed in the family suite it is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean with everything you need including family games. Special touches like a note from the owners, chocolates on the bed and sherry to drink. The units are attached but there was not much noise from neighbours. Stunning view from the balcony and their is a lovely forest walk. WiFi is not great but not needed in this beautiful setting. I would highly recommend.

The chalets except for "the Nest", which I cannot recommend, because of the noise of the Rheenendaal Street, all have a view towards a gorge, which is stunning. The garden is beautiful and has diverse plants from the region. The hosts were very helpful and the free range chicken, as well as the dog and the girls made us feel at home.

Beautifully crafted cabin on the Knysna Rheenendal Road. Very simple, comfortable and peaceful. The Nest is extremely well built and lacks for nothing in terms of self-catering facilities (and no TV was definitely a bonus). Need to be a little cautious climbing up to the loft bedroom. Great hosts (including the children, Reacher the dog and free-ranging chickens). Close to town, beaches and George (or Plettenberg Bay) airports can be reached within an hour.

Such a beautiful place! The views are breathtaking and the little hiking trail is awesome.

Lovely floating braai on the deck. It was amazing to be able to take our fur-child with and be able to let him wander freely without worrying. Our city fur-child chased the chickens but July was very calm about it.

Really just an amazing place...didn’t want to leave. Peaceful and private... We will definitely go back...

We stayed in the Protea Couples Suite which has a lovely view, with a delightful deck where you can read or simply enjoy the fauna and flora around you. The Suite is beautifully decorated and furnished. Everything we needed was on hand. The detailed instructions and information booklet assisted with efficient check-in and information on all the basics we needed to know. We made use of the recommendations with regard to spots to eat - we enjoyed the Bell Tavern in Belvidere (Knysna) as well as the Oakleaf Cafe (Knysna). Thank you to our hosts for these suggestions. It was also wonderful to be welcomed by the resident Dog. We felt right at home. I highly recommend these Suites.

We had a lovely stay at Woodlands in the 'nest' accommodation. Good location in the beautiful mountain ranges just outside Knysna. The unit was beautifully decorated with very thoughtful details such as the loadshedding schedule printed on the fridge for the days of our stay, etc. The kitchen was fully equipped for our stay and there was a lovely braai facility outside.

My wife and I stayed at Woodlands for my 40th birthday. We had a fantastic time. Beautiful property, they have a 40min walking trail on the property which we enjoyed very much. They are close to Knysna, yet when you are at Woodlands, you feel that you are far away from everything. Reacher, the owners dog, welcomed us when we arrived, he was very sweet and a lot of fun when he accompany us around the property. The unit was well equipped, they had everything we needed in the kitchen, loved the views from our deck, especially when you are lying on your hammock. Do yourself a favor and visit Woodlands.

The accommodation is beautiful. It is fresh and spotlessly clean with a huge bed and top class bed linen. It has everything you would need for your stay. The decking has a wonderful view and there is a walking trail through the property. The outside areas have been designed with great thought with a small pond and areas for birds and insects. Etienne and Julie have made this place a little haven. It's about a 15 minute drive from Knysna. Highly recommended.
