Premier Resort The Moorings (Knysna) welcomes you to the idyllic natural surroundings of the Western Cape Garden Route. A resort as diverse as Knysna itself, the Premier Hotel Knysna – The Moorings offers guests a multitude of ways to experience the Garden Route: share a champagne moment on the side of the private Knysna lagoon inlet; have fun with the family in our newly developed outdoor play area; lounge by the pool; enjoy the culinary delights on offer at our trendy Salmon Restaurant; picnic in the beautiful resort gardens or head off to discover the richness of Knysna through the craft shops, flea-markets and cosy cafes. For lovers of the good life, a visit planned during the annual Oyster Festival will provide opportunities to sample these locally farmed delicacies, however, during the year, these and other delights are still available from various eateries located in the harbour and elsewhere in town. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for one night and the rooms were nice however the balcony could not be used as it was raining and there was no roof. The rooms were clean and big enough to move around fine. I did not like the blinds on the door as the light was on outside all night and if the blinds were bent or you didn't even see the blind you would have light coming in all night.

They do not have an iron or ironing board for rooms so do offer a free ironing service which they were quick to pick up and bring back.

The food was lovely for both dinner and breakfast buffets.
The grounds were really nice for a walk to go see the lagoon.

We were there 2 nights as part of a Great Rail Journey. We loved the 2 room apartments with a place to sit outside. The wifi was free, weak in our room, but very good in the library. The weather wasn't good enough for us to swim. The restaurant was great. We had an included breakfast. They let us choose and pay for parts of the buffet, soup, starters, main, and or dessert. Everyone was very friendly.

If you are looking forspacious units and 5 x star service - Look no further than Premier Resort The Moorings. My family and I stayed here for a week and I am all ready looking forward to our next stay in 2021.

Spacious suites, extended menu options, views from all angles of what Knysna has to offer and an abundance of nature sightings, this place has it all.

I would like to thank management and each staff member involved for making sure our stay was as most enjoyable as possible while offering service with a smile.

Regards,

Elize

Stayed 2 nights as part of a cricket tour.
A little way out of town so location not great, can get a taxi into town ( although no Uber and most expensive taxis we have come across in South Africa)
WiFi not available in many blocks, not acceptable for a modern hotel which claims to be 4 star. No working telephone in room, no fridge, plastic glasses, shower poor.
Bed comfortable.
Pool area ok but pool full of flys and did not see anyone clean them out.
Bar service chaotic.
Breakfast good
Generally could have been cleaner, eg shelves dusty in wardrobe.
Would not stay hear again as it was all round a little disappointing

We spent 2 nights at the hotel. The rooms are suites with anice sized living room, dining area and large kitchen with all the electric appliances (no dishes) and large balcony. Bedroom and bathroom are also large. The hotel is located on beautiful sprawling lawns with lots of trees and a wonderful swimming area. The ambience is lovely, the staff friendly. Highly recommended.

We spent 4 nights at the moorings on a family holiday. On arrival the welcome was friendly and efficient. We were upgraded to a villa which was lovely. The villa is a double storey and has lovely views of the lagoon both upstairs and downstairs. We were able to have most meals( from the on-site restaurant)in the fully kitted out kitchen in the villa. Heating( air-cons) works well and we were warm and cosy at night. There is a lovely play area for kids. It would have been nice if the pool was heated. We would also recommend the addition of a gym on site. In terms of negatives the on site restaurant wowed us the first night but subsequent meals were not so great. We had taken a package which included dinner and by the 4 th night we decided to eat out because the menu options are somewhat limited by that time. The Shower in the main bathroom was also a little small. Overall we had a good stay and would recommend this resort.

Enjoyed our stay over Christmas holidays, stayed for 3 nights in the 2 bed self catering units. Very friendly & helpful staff. Philani of the kids club was exceptional, made sure our 6 year old son enjoyed his stay while maintaining the COVID (social distancing + mask) protocols.

The rooms were very clean, both bedroom en-suite, lovely relaxing atmosphere with a view of the lagoon.

The good part of this hotel is its friendly staff. Rooms were nice and large, but my room had 0 information how to reach front desk, what are the services offered, etc. Food was ok, wifi worked only in one of the buildings, those accommodated in the next building had 0 connectivity. I know times are tough, but more the reasons to try harder! Also, its quite a distance from the town, bear in mind!

After waiting for an hour we received half our order in the form of two raw pizzas. Their bar and restaurant staff are inexperienced and they were more busy dealing with complaints than serving customers. As a local in the Garden Route, I am shocked by the level of service that n number of out of town clients experienced during the Knysna Oyster Festival. Waking up this morning, we realised that they are also not geared for load shedding. Shocking!

Staff very pleasant and welcoming. Room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. Plenty of wardrobe space, good shower and comfortable bed. We stayed 2 nights as part of an escorted tour holiday. Good choice at breakfast, cereals, bacon etc and omelettes and eggs cooked on request. Gluten free bread available but you have to ask for it. (I am coeliac, plenty of gluten free options for breakfast). Knyana waterfront is a 5 to 10 min drive. We got a taxi there, 120 rand there and 70 rand back?? Some of the other people on our tour paid 160 rand each way?? There is an Italian restaurant in the grounds, we didn't eat there but those who did, enjoyed their food. Definitely a good place to stay when visiting Knysna.
