Set on a hill above Knysna this Guest House can only be described as superb. Being greeted by Alfie was an absolute delight. Clearly she is very proud of her place of work and goes to great lengths to ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible. Nicole, the owner, had quality in mind when she designed this guest house. All furnishing are top quality and all rooms include bluetooth speakers, free wifi and a TV with English channels. The beds are enormous and comfortable and the bathrooms fit for a five star hotel.

The views from the rooms and the well manicured gardens are delightful. Having a fine breakfast on the patio makes it difficult to leave the premises because its so tranquil.

Finally, we were touring and needed clothes laundered. That service is provided at very reasonable cost.

Very highly recommended. I will definitely return when i am next in S.A.

Thank you to all at Cambalala.

Living room, bedroom, bathroom and terrace are the perfect accommodation in Knysna. Unfortunately, the curtains are not darkening the bedroom, they are also not covering the full width of the windows. It is about a 15 minutes walk to the town center or the harbor where we took the ferry to the (private) Featherbed nature reserve. Driving to the Knysna mall takes just a few minutes and free parking was available in Woolworths. Breakfast is a great treat with eggs prepared by Giorgio (Nicole was absent during our stay) and served by Alfie, furthermore, a variety of cold cuts, fruits and diary products; every morning Alfie most warmly greeted us, the kind, personal ambience of the guesthouse is much due to her. Two recommendations for a delicious, gastronomic diner: Le Maquis in Gray street and Pembreys in Brenton.

The Cambalala B+B is situated with a stunning view over the bay of Knysna in the midst of a very nice garden with a swimming pool for hot days. A very rich breakfast and well maintained and designed rooms leave absolutly no room for complaints. I will come again.

Nestled in a serene residential area, this hotel offers not only safety but also an exceptionally beautiful view, making it a unique gem. Whether you're checking in or out, the process is as quick as sipping a glass of wine or enjoying a cup of coffee, making your stay both efficient and delightful.

With just six rooms available, the service provided here is nothing short of exceptional, and securing a reservation is a must. Although my stay was originally planned for only two days, I'd gladly extend it to two weeks if I could.

What sets this place apart is the owner's expertise in health and wellness. Here, you'll indulge in only the finest fare that's not only delicious but also nourishing for both body and soul.

While this hotel undoubtedly has a romantic charm, I was fortunate to visit with my older daughter, and I can attest that it caters to all types of guests seeking tranquility and discretion.

The hosts, a warm and welcoming couple, go above and beyond to ensure you feel right at home, and they unquestionably succeed in creating an unforgettable experience.

This is a great place where you feeel relaxed and like home in the moment you arrive! Great view over the Knysna bay from the terrace and pool, surrounded by the huge and beautiful garden. Restaurants and Waterfornt in walking distance. The rooms are nice and large, the interior is stylish and clean (which, depending on your taste, might appear a bit cold). Excellent and home-made breakfast. The (new) owners and hosts are very friendly and engaged and always around to help with very good advice on activities and restaurants. If you are digging deep for something to criticise: During the evening and in the morning, you can hear the birds and frogs in the garden. All else is close to perfect!

A purpose built guesthouse with lovely views overlooking the Knyssna lagoon. Comfortable rooms with small individual decks and very pleasant grounds with a nice covered area at the top of the garden. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very responsive and accommodating. The only criticism that I have is in the design of the room, which is open plan meaning there is next to no privacy when one of the occupants is using the toilet!

What a great experience with Ninja , Mats and Alfi! They take care of you like you’re family and tend to your every wish.
It’s so relaxing….
Breakfast is served at the terrace by the infinity pool overlooking the lagune……wow!
What a breathtaking view!
(Ask Alfi for mushrooms only at breakfast and I assure you you will get the loveliest giggle you ever saw)

The location is perfect for trips to Brenton, Buffelsbaai and the inlands.
Absolutely a place to go back to!

What a beautiful place and such charming hosts. Where do I begin? First the stunning setting in the hills with a very impressive view over the lagoon. Secondly it’s a very beautiful house, lovingly furnished and tastefully decorated with an exciting blend of elegant Scandinavian style and design and African arts and crafts. Gorgeous furnishings and a wonderfully sensitive attention to detail. Thirdly - Superb hosts Ninja ( pronounced Nin ya) and Mats exuded charm, warmth and enthusiasm and provided a delightful breakfast on a lovely terrace (overlooking a beautiful infinity pool) and plenty of welcome and pertinent advice on what to do and where to eat. I could go on and on. I travel a lot and have visited nearly 50 countries. I stay about 50 nights a year away from home every year. This place will stay in my memory for ever. You will not be disappointed

It was a fantastic stay. The location and the very tastfull Swedisch design with attention to the smallest details. The large room and bathroom where you immediatly feel at home. Not to mention the very friendly hosts and staff and finally one of the best views we ever had. We can only recommend the place and will certainly go back. A little piece of paradise in Knysna.
