Very spacious comfortable cottages close to each other.
A kitchen full of utensils and washing machine available for cooking and cleaning.

You can carry your own barbecue aswell
Try to get a cottage near the information Center or the swimming pool otherwise u may end up walking a lot..

Morning walks around the fence is a great experience , u might end up catching a glimpse of a bunch of spotted dear Or an elephant.. and plenty of birds.

I am from India and actually recommend this place also coz they were very quick to reply to all my mails and did give me a discount on my booking.

Also it’s an inexpensive stay.

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights, we had a self-catering house with 2 Bedrooms and 1 sleeper couch. The house also had a kitchen, a fireplace, and an outdoor table and some bar chairs in the kitchen. The building / house we stayed at itself was quite small, we had one double room (double bed), which was also the entrance to the house. Then we had a bedroom with 2 single beds and a medium-sized living room. Then we had a bathroom, which was separated over 3 rooms, (1: Sink and bath, 2: shower, 3: toilet) which made the living a bit easier for us as a family, as one could shower while the other could shave.

You will need to bring your own food, as this is a self-catering place and the local shop doesn't have too much different food (small)

We entered Kruger through the Malelane gate and spent our first night here. The perimeter bungalow was clean with a full kitchen and table, chairs and a bbq outside. No table and chairs inside but there were 3 bar stools. It was an easy walk to the restaurant and shop. The shop is small compared to others in the park but still had a decent variety of food / souvenirs. We ate dinner at the Tindlovu restaurant and were disappointed with the service. It wasn't overly busy but we waited 45 minutes to be told that there had been a crisis in the kitchen and our meal would be coming soon, Another 30 minutes later we received our food (which was good) but it was a long time waiting. I assume they just missed our order as another table near us arrived after us, ate and left before we even had our food.
Don't let this put you off staying here though. This rest camp is in the most beautiful setting, surrounded by mountains and we saw so much wildlife in the area. In fact, we joked that we didn't need the rest of our week in Kruger, as we had seen everything we expected on our first day! Even a leopard walking right next to the road! I would definitely recommend staying here. 4 stars for the accommodation and setting, 2 stars for the restaurant. 3.5 overall.

We stayed to nights in the Berg-en-Dal camp and it was quite expensive, but there are obviously not a lot of options inside the Kruger park. Unfortunately, one of the two bedrooms in our cabin had a strong smell of mold which was disturbing. The air conditioner was also very cold and there were no settings and there is no wifi. This might not be a big issue for some people but I think it's worth knowing.

The sunrise and sunset drives are great and we got to see a lot of animals. Also, the pool is very nice and big. The restaurant provides good food but the grocery store is very expensive, like in an airport.

Friends from overseas visited us last week, we booked a family unit (No 82) at Berg-en-dal for one night only at a cost of R4000+ including our conservation fees. Unfortunately we got a below par unit, a braai that we had to fix ourselves so we can braai, one steak knife in the unit, bear in mind we were 6 people...one bed had only 2 feet, had to put bricks underneath just to level it so I can sleep. Leak in the shower...the list goes on. It's just absolutely shocking.

This is a very well-designed camp in the Kruger National Park so you have very little interaction with other guests. The cottage is well supplied with cooking utensils and is very comfortable. Its 5 star for park camps and we were sad we could only spend one night there. The camp had also had a fire so were in the process of rebuilding the dining area, but that is hardly their fault.

Never again: We were lucky to get a "renovated" room and were shocked to see the condition of it. The kitchen dates back to the 1950's, drawers fall out, the stove top is totally rusty. The chairs are all falling to pieces. The beds are ok. The bathroom door opens the wrong way so you always bang yourself on it.
But the worst part are the lies from staff at reception.
On arrival we asked about load shedding and got the standard SanParks reply "I'm not sure", so we asked them to find out and were told it was from 6 to 8 pm. Great just when you need to cook diner. So we asked Do you have a generator? Yes we do, but they forgot to mention that it had broken down the day before. Upon coming back after our game drive we again went to reception to ask for some candles and were rudely told to go and buy a torch in the shop, but where they don't sell the batteries to go with it!
So we were stuck in our self catering unit with no way to cook or read or charge our camera batteries. I didn't get much sleep either since I suffer from sleep apnea and without electricity my machine doesn't work.
After more load shedding from 4 to 6 am we could finally have a cup of coffee before leaving for our game drive. Back for lunch, we had another bad surprise with no electricity again and no way to cook lunch. I went to the reception and was finally told that the main power line had been cut and they were working hard to fix it.
But surprisingly there was electricity at the reception and the store, so only 3/4 of the chalets were affected. Not wanting another sleepless night I asked to speak to the duty manager to see if we could change rooms ...but I was told that since it's Sunday they are not allowed to disturb her.
My husband went to see the busy workers who were standing around all scratching their heads and wondering what they could do.
After seeing our neighbours packing and leaving we decided to to do the same thing.

We stayed here for 3nights in a self catered house with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and outdoor cooking area (all private) and left very happy….

The house itself is quite small…one room with a double and one with 2 singles, a separate bath, shower and toilet makes Family life easier…big outdoor terrace to braai and good sized kitchen with all you need.

Bring your food -the camp shop is good for small things but not family dinner….otherwise a good restaurant is also open ion site…

Great area for game viewing, all in all a nice recommend if you don’t want to spend silly money on unnecessary luxuries in a lodge…

Booked a family chalet (no 92), the chalet was in extremely poor condition and in need of upgrading. Complained at reception the just said they were in the process of upgrading. I have also sent a complaint through to SANPARKS who apologized but that is all. The chalets are expensive to rent and SANPARKS should not rent out chalets in this condition. The only positive part of the trip was the excellent game viewing while in the park.

I stayed in a BA3 bungalow and was happy with the bungalow and generally the camp’s facilities. As it’s a newer camp the room was fairly modern with brick construction and a reasonable size with the Kitchen inside and a braai on the large patio. The aircon was quiet and beds comfortable.
There’s a Tindlovu restaurant on-site and although the menu is not as good as the Mugg and Bean or Cattle Baron restaurants in other camps, there’s a nice bar area with a large TV with DSTV. The staff were also really friendly and very efficient.
The best aspect is that the restaurant is overlooking the Majulu river that has had a dam created at the camp. One afternoon I was fortunate to see a couple of Elephants swim over the river and climb the river bank on the fence line and start feeding on the lush vegetation against the fence in full view. There was also a Crocodile patrolling up and down. It made me debate whether to head out for an afternoon game drive or stay at the restaurant!
Other camp facilities include the very informative Rhino hall display and a rhino walking trail around the camp.
In summary I enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back.

Hi. visit their sanparks website for full pricing. We always do the bush walk which is about R450 per person.
