We just had the most magical luxury experience - everything was just perfect from the moment we set foot on the property until the moment we left. James, Steve, Tristan and Lynette made sure our stay was extra special with a special treat almost everyday (sparkling wine for sunset during one of our drives, intimate dinner on our deck). The lodge's location overlooking the plain is fantastic, wildlife can be seen from its deck, the room is comfortable, beautifully decorated and very private. We went on twice daily safari drives with our amazingly knowledgeable guide and skilful tracker, they went above and beyond to look for the animals we were keen to see - we saw everything and more (leopard, wild dogs on a hunt, many elephants, etc...). We got spoilt with food - fine and tasty. Walkers Plains Camp didn't disappoints and we would love to come back.

We recently visited Walkers Plains camp and had an had an amazing experience. We were welcomed by all staff and made to feel at home. The rooms had a stunning view over the plains to the mountains where you could often spot game. The loge and rooms were immaculate and there was a great deal of attention to detail. The food was delicious and the chef was always around to discuss the menu. We went on twice daily game drives where the game viewing was outstanding. We saw lions on a kill, a leopard up a tree and wild dogs in one drive! I would recommend that you visit Walkers Plains camp and we will definitely be back.

Book it. Book it now. You will thank me. I promise.

love this place. My first visit was incredible - intended as a one off visit but they stole my heart and made me fall in love with it so I had no choice but to return.

I was concerned that it couldn’t possibly be as good as the first time but they smashed it out of the park once again.

The lodge is absolutely stunning. The location with the plains and the watering hole in front of the lodge is breathtaking. The rooms are the ultimate in luxury and the owners and the staff so warm and welcoming and make you feel like family.

The game viewing was once again spectacular and the drives always educational and fun. There is always something new to see and learn. Special shout out to Paul and Clarence for their guiding/tracking skills, for finding such incredible animals, making sure the views were perfect and of course pouring excellent gin and tonics for sundowners.

Not sure when the third visit will be but there will be one….

Walkers was an amazing experience from the first minute to the last second. The lodge is personal, great facilities, calm and a world away from stresses of everyday life.

Paul and Phanuel took us on two game drives a day and made sure we saw lots everyday. Pauls knowledge is phenomenal. Blankets and hot water bottles kept us in luxury as well as the new safari jeeps in the early morning.

The meals were terrific with different choices every day. We had our own pool and outdoor shower from which we saw zebra elephants warthogs impala and wilder beasts!

We would definitely come again.

An unforgettable experience. A true high-end luxury camp in the heart of one of South Africa’s best game viewing regions. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The food was divine, the guiding and tracking out of this world and the game sightings were the best we’ve ever experienced. Our four days at Walkers was worth every cent and we will be back.

I had the most incredible time at this camp!

It was by far one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The location and scenery are beautiful. The main dining/lounge area looks out onto a beautiful plain where animals routinely roam throughout the day. Each individual cabin is impeccably clean, well maintained, lush and relaxing. Private pools at each small cabin allow you to relax in solitude and view the wildlife and scenery throughout the day.

Incredibly warm welcome and the staff was great throughout. Caroline in particular was very warm and welcoming and just a joy to be around. Everyone always had a smile on their face, remembered all the guests names, remembered drink orders, inquired about what was seen on the safari rides that day, and made the stay incredibly personalized and enjoyable. Also appreciated the "guest employee", Judy, who I spent most of my 3 days with and who was such a fan of Walker's that she had returned 3x in the last year.

As a solo traveler, I appreciated the care and attentiveness put into both providing opportunities to socialize and engage with the staff, owners, and other guests, but also allowing me to have personal time to relax in solitude (even when I was sitting in common areas). Everyone who works there is absolutely excellent at hospitality.

The game rides were incredible. Paul (guide) and Phanuel (tracker) were both engaged, enthusiastic, knowledgeable with every question I asked, and also made all guests feel appreciated and welcomed. There is a true passion and excitement for the wildlife in the area (Paul gets downright gleeful when there is a sighting of wild dogs). On my last day (I was the only one on the vehicle who was leaving that day) they asked me specifically what I wanted for my last ride, and then followed through with finding an entire herd of elephants- the largest group that I had seen in my 6 full days of safari- a great send off!

I would absolutely love to return one day and cannot recommend enough. It is expensive but it definitely pulls through in terms of being an amazing experience!

This place is without doubt absolutely incredible, from the warm welcome to the stunning view from the main pool/bar area (which stopped me in my tracks), to the beautiful rooms. Absolute luxury but equally a relaxing, be yourself vibe.

I knew my guide Paul from before I visited, so knew that the drives would be fun anyway reuniting with an old friend. However Paul and his amazing “eyesight of a hawk” tracker Clarence went above and beyond - mind blowing sightings, a ton of information provided along the way, and so much fun. Jaw dropping, mind blowing and a lot of laughs as well. All big five seen as well as wild dogs and many other brilliant things. Absolutely top notch.

As for the lodge - the owners and staff (including Lucy the dog and Wilbur the cat) are all brilliant, the food was incredible (I could feel the pounds creeping back on by the day) and such beautiful surroundings to relax in between drives, with a constant flow of wildlife on the plains in front.

I was very sad to leave - and it is definitely not a question of if I will be back, but when.

The lodge is still very new and gorgeous, but what makes it very special, is the staff working there. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful.

Game drives with Tristan and Walter were amazing and we saw Rhinos, lions, hyena, wild dogs, lots of elephants and other game.

Each room comes with its own plunge pool and deck with amazing view over the plains. The main deck and pool have direct views of the waterhole and you can spot amazing wildlife there as well.

Wonderful lodge, highly recommend.

My third visit. I cannot keep away. It breaks my heart a little each time I have to say goodbye. I appreciate that that sounds a little dramatic but that truly is how it feels. The team at Walkers are my African family now. Visiting feels like going back home.

It really is such a beautiful location overlooking the plains with a wild variety of wildlife visiting the watering hole every day.

The staff are all just so brilliantly lovely and everyone gets involved. It really does feel like it’s one big happy team and all credit to James and Steve for that.
A special shout out to my ladies Lynette, Caraline, Word and Xoli - I love you all and cannot wait until next time.

The rooms are beautiful. Stunningly put together, light airy and spacious, and a lovely outdoor deck area and private pool with each.

You will put on lbs here. The food is too good not to. Abut as they all say, you’re on holiday!

And as for the game drives. This was my last stay of this trip and I had already seen so many incredible things before I even arrived. I’ve known my guide Paul for two years now and he is so good at what he does. Phanuel was his tracker this time out. I swear he sees things two minutes before any of us do. The drives were superb - each and every one of them. Paul and Phanuel work so well together, they are a great team and work so hard to get the best sightings but at the same time show you all of the small stuff too.

Highly highly highly recommend

We had the most amazing time at Walkers!

The team were so helpful and friendly from the second we arrived. Everyone was really attentive and hard working, but also fun to chat to. Our room was the coolest. We had a view right onto the watering hole so got to watch elephants and zebras cooling off while we sat by the pool each day.

The food was unbelievable! Their chef is a wizard and the menu each day was different from the last. We had to stop ourselves from eating too many of the daily snacks, to make room for the amazing dinners.

We had 2 game drives a day and each one was a mini adventure. Paul and Phanuel were full of fun facts about the animals and the area. We saw everything on our bucket list and much much more.

We will be recommending Walkers to everyone we know, and already hoping to go back again soon.
