Upon arriving at Oase it was instantly clear that we were about to have the trip of a lifetime. The resort itself is absolutely stunning and no detail has been overlooked, it could only be overshadowed by the exceptional service we received. Every drink and every meal we had was turned into an experience in its own right, you don’t just have a gin and tonic, you have it in a location carefully picked to give you a view of some of the resident giraffes. Every meal was served at a different, stunning location and the food was out of this world - they don’t let something like cooking in the bush stop them from serving Michelin quality meals! We didn’t make any plans at all prior to arriving, we just let the very experienced and capable team plan our itinerary to make sure we saw absolutely everything and had the trip of a lifetime.

This place is incredible. Myself and my husband went for our honeymoon, first time to South Africa, and we were blown away with every part. Firstly the accommodation was impeccable, so clean, comfy and modern but also giving you the feel of being right out in the bush to give you the true South African experience (you really are out in the middle of the bush). We stayed in the Bradbury suite and loved it. Even down to the little details, you could tell it had all been thought through to make it feel luxury but also authentic.

Secondly the owners David and Audra went out of their way to make our trip flawless from start to finish. They were so attentive, helping us get to the place, helping us return our hire car, nothing was ever too much!
We had our own butler (Octavia) who was on hand to assist us with everything and all our meals. She was incredible and even arranged some special surprises for us which was so lovely. She arranged a candlelit dinner for us at the top of the treetop sleepout where we had a chef cook us a 3 course meal. The views from the top were incredible.

All the staff were very lovely and accommodating, you couldn’t really ask for anything more.

All in all this place was amazing and we would 100% recommend for anyone who is wanting to experience true South Africa with a luxury feel too. Absolutely perfect for honeymoons!

10/10 recommend for a couple’s getaway! We had a wonderful time staying at Oase! The culinary experience alone far surpasses all restaurants in the Hoedspruit/Mbombela area (which Oase is currently building their own restaurant and spa!!). We were pampered by an amazing team that has such an attention to detail including raking the sand around our house daily so we could see fresh animal prints —Njabulo was an awesome butler, we learned so much from Fanny tracking leopard prints, and everyone else behind the scenes made our visit perfect :)

Recommendations for things to do on the property: picnic lunch/fishing at the river, watch a movie at the cinema, enjoy a private breakfast in the bush after animal tracking, relax at the house (we had many plains animals visit us while we enjoyed our private pool), have drinks brought to the house while enjoying the luxurious accommodation. We visited in September and the weather was perfect! There is some walking between buildings on the property so bring a hat or use one of their umbrellas unless you want to work on your tan or be chauffeured by their Cushman carts. With the delicious and superb food, you’ll definitely enjoy getting your steps in every day!

Notes: Although the place is not a Big 5 for animal viewing, there are many options to do game drives in the area. Oase is secluded in the middle of a nature reserve and is 6km/15 minutes from the main entrance from the road. If you’re driving yourself, it might be a challenge to drive in the rainy season in a small car, but it is fine in a SUV. The property relies on solar so there is no loadshedding.

If you are after an affordable luxury safari getaway, look no further. Having stayed at other luxury safari lodges in Timbavati, this was a next level experience.
Attentive service in luxury accommodation with amazing food, whilst being in the African bush is what you have here.
Private destination dining experiences on a daily basis were unforgettable and the seclusion really made this escape so unique.
It is a little bit of a drive to the game park for all of your animal spotting needs but these are included and delivered!
There are animals on the property such as giraffe whilst strolling to lunch, so you don’t miss out either but feel safer walking around.
The plunge pools were nice but a bit cold to enjoy in July! Although we braved it and enjoyed on the hottest days.

Having stayed at various lodges before, there is nothing that even comes remotely close to this experience. The accommodation was out of this world, as was the service by our own butler and Janus who arranged all of our excursions. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him or the staff who looked after us. Every day was action packed with whatever we wanted to do and specially arranged for us.
The food was also 7 star and our thanks has to go to Roy, the chef, on all of the different meals he made which were out of this world. I don’t know how he and his staff coped when we had dinner in so many different places, some of which were remote within the game reserve. The staff were there when you wanted them, but were always in the background to assist whenever something was required. The owners of the game reserve, Dave and Audra, joined us for dinner on some of the nights we were there and they both made our stay even more remarkable given the wonderful and entertaining hosts that they both are.
Probably one of our best experiences was sleeping out in the bush one night, enjoying the stars, the animals calling out to each other and seeing the sunrise. It is an experience not to be missed.
I will definitely be going back soon for another visit as having had this experience, I now know nothing can ever match this.

We had an exceptional experience at 7 Stars Oase ,we stayed in the family villa that was very comfortable ,nicely designed ,had everything we needed & the most beautiful terrace where you can relax watch the sunrise and the sunset,we even had our own small swimming pool & 2 outdoor showers & the fastest
Cannot thank enough everyone here ,there was nothing much to ask ,we were on the all inclusive package where everything was included ,every meal was in a different place and at your own pace ,we asked for certain drinks and Lacto free milk & it was all there ,there is even a 16 seat leather chairs cinema that showed the latest movies ,a Gym .
In our last evening we had drinks on the sundowners deck where the views were breathtaking .
We also had two 5 big game Safaris organized outside the lodge where we saw 4 of the 5 big animals .
This is not a 5 big game lodge but there are animals available ,we went for several rides and spotted many animals.
Also this is not your typical game Safari lodge where you have to wake up at certain hours to eat at a certain time ,you can choose things at your own pace & the staff will surprise you with the place of your next meal ,also don’t expect to open your door and walk the corridor to go to the Gym ,you have to walk for a minute in the bushes to get there ,the same with the Cinema.
On our last night we had the pleasure to meet with Audra & David the property owners ,we could see how passionate they are about the place and how they want it to be exclusive .
Thank you Michael ,Octavia ,Fanny ,the cocktail man who I don’t remember his name ,the amazing chefs who were preparing our meals & everyone who made our stay memorable .
Suzan & Khaldoun

Fantastic 5 night stay at Oase! From the get go Dave the owner was so helpful before I had even booked the holiday and that's what really sold it to us because we just got a good vibe and knew we would be really looked after.
The accommodation itself is one of a kind, the decor is modern but still in theme with being in the bush, everything is high quality and has all mod-cons. The bed and linen were amazing, comfiest I've ever slept in!! It's very private and you are not over looked by anyone, we didn't actually see any of the other guests during our stay!
Njabulo our butler was so so sweet, he was very welcoming and always wanted to do his best so we had the best stay which we really did.
I loved that everything was planned for us each day, it was so nice for someone else to do the organising. You can do as little or as much as you like, they cater to what you want to do. We enjoyed doing activities each day as well as chilling by the private pool with a cocktail.
Each day was filled with special moments and memories to last a lifetime. We had a full day at Kruger Park, did a leopard tracking walk in the bush with Fannie who is so knowledgeable about the animals he was fascinating to talk to and so friendly, we went on a boat ride along Blyde River which was stunning, had a private game drive at a nearby big 5 reserve, had a night sleeping under the stars at the treetop which was insane! We also had a massage and did a hot air balloon ride.
Every meal we had was specially set up in different locations, which is unique in itself plus the attention to detail was impeccable, it felt very romantic. I loved the picnic we had by the river, the most beautiful setting!
Despite Oase not being a big 5 reserve you still see plenty of animals, every day we came across giraffes, we were even lucky enough to see 3 baby giraffes which was incredible.
The food was brilliant, we never went hungry! On each trip out we were given snacks and drinks too which was a lovely touch.
Thank you to all the staff, everyone was so friendly and attentive. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Oase is luxury in the bush with a very personal feel to it. We wish we could have stayed longer!

I'm not quite sure where to start reviewing this incredible place. The stunning suite we stayed in was pure luxury- the outside rainfall shower being simply the best experience ever!
From our personal Butler Michael, who showed us such care and plied us with amazing cocktails to the bespoke safari tracker expert who missed absolutely nothing when taking us out and about in the bush - and all the amazing staff in between.
Every night we dined in a different, beautiful venue. The chef and his staff supplied stunning and complex meals beyond all expectations.
I have never had such a wonderful holiday experience and I thank everyone so very much.
With their care, attention to detail and always smiling, Oase 7-star Lodges is absolutely second to none!

It was the most amazing few days we have ever experienced. The suites are all alone standing, you see or hear no other guests, it feels as if you are all alone. Attention to detail can not even be compered by some overseas destinations. The staff, butler, fine dining all beyond comparison. Nothing was an effort! If ever you need to be pampered in the bush...this is your place. Please visit the website...book your date and thank me later. To Dave, Janus, Njabula, Stanley, Audra and the amazing chef...you are on hell of a winning team! We'll be back!

Our stay was amazing! The walking safaris with such a knowledgeable interesting guide was an incredible way to start our days. The concierge always had a smile, she made the best cocktails, and was such a help and a pleasure. Eating delicious creative meals in different places throughout the reserve was just fun. We absolutely loved our stay!!

Good morning, We have information on our web site about rate inclusions. If you book direct with us we include all meals, drinks (acholic and non-acholic) as well as transfers from HDS Airport. Booking via on-line travel agents only includes meals and non-acholic drinks. We also have a package rate on our web site that includes all tours if you wish, or you can use the standard rate and do them ad hoc. Team Oase

I’m from Yorkshire so I’ll be Frank … I can’t remember seeing any , certainly not in the camp or room , I do remember seeing a few webs with dew on in the very early mornings on Safari , but didn’t see the inhabitants… I can say Oase was the best experience of a holiday I’ve had in 45 years of travelling .. the owner runs it as his own hobby and home , if you go you’ll find he was in the Tech industry so doesn’t need to cut corners Hope this helps

Oase is located in the middle of 2 gates Orpen Gate and Phalaborwa Gate. Which quite uniquely enables you to go in one gate and out the other gate without back tracking.
