Maduma Boma is a private game farm situated in the Greater Kruger National park about 25 min from Orpen Gate of the Kruger Park which makes it great for day visits to the park. We are close to some wonderful attractions. We have 10 chalets priced from as little as R1000 per night. EACH chalet has its own swimming pool and boma. Each Chalet is fully serviced daily and is privately situated on a separate part of the farm. We have animals walking around freely (not the Big5, they are next door and you can go on a game drive there) and abundant bird life. This is the perfect place to relax and position yourself to enjoy the African Bush and what it has to offer.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great stay. Fantastic peaceful cottage surrounded by game. Friendly hospitable owner. Shame we couldn't of stayed longer. Easy access to Hoedspruit and into the Kruger via the Orpen gate. Very few places give such peace and tranquility. The cottages are far enough apart as to make you think you had the small reserve to yourself. Bliss

What a really exclusive place at an extremely reasonable cost. Service and level of people working there is just phenomenal. Barry and Sue are the bestest ever. They deserve to go on pension and just enjoy their lives and grandchildren for a long while. Just a pity that the property has been sold to a neighbour who will not keep the same prices.

I first visited Maduma in 1998 and have been back many times. This year we brought American friends on their first trip to South Africa. Over the years, Maduma has become better and better and again we found some wonderful tranquillity and peace there, together with wonderful wildlife encounters.Sue and Barry are the most wonderful and thoughtful hosts and our thanks to them for yet another great experience.

It was fantastic to stay 2 nights at Maduma Boma, far from the world, right in the middle of wild animals ! Private pool, in the wild and not very far from the sites all around. Moholoholo, 15 minutes away, is pretty interesting. We could not visit Nyani, the cultural village.

We've had a lovely, quiet stay at Maduma Boma. Everything we needed was there, we loved the boma and were visited by various animals during the day: striped mongoose, giraf, impala. From Maduma Boma you have easy access to Kruger - Orpen gate.

Had a great stay, service was excellent, room clean and the location great as it was close to work. Loved the nature and fresh air, did not like the fact that i had to leave ...I would recommend the Maduma Boma to all my friends and family and would definitely return.

we booked the stay to break our journey up on the way to Kruger but really wished we could have stayed longer! We were in the Squirrel lodge with its own pool and plenty of room in the very comfortable lodge. Sue was so helpful on reception, giving us maps so we could walk around - which we did seeing Nyala, Kudu, warthogs, impala, bushbuck and a giraffe on our wanders. It's a beautifully run site and if we go back to the area will definitely stay longer.

Stayed here for a family birthday. Stayed in Squirrel house. Two double beds and a single. There is also a pool. Conservancy has many 'non-lethal' wild animals and plenty can be seen at the watering hole. There are also many birds. The conservancy is close to Hoedspruit ( approx. 15 minutes away ). Our three nights came to R340 per person per night. Beautiful starry skies every night. Will be our 'go-to' place to stay at in Hoedspruit.
