Travellers' Choice
Oakhurst Farm offers a healthy slice of rural bliss for the entire family. From stylish and comfortable accommodation options to plenty of good ol’ fashioned farm fun for the kids and adults alike. A visit here will remain a family memory for years to come. For couples, The Forge, a gorgeously restored and converted stone blacksmith’s forge, offers a unique combination of rustic luxury, while the Farm Cottages are ideal for families or groups looking for that perfect spot right on the forest fringe. Whatever your choice, be it hiking trails to the waterfalls, fishing on the dam or cycling on the many kilometers of forest single track, this is a farm stay like no other, the kind of place you and your kids will never want to leave.

We stayed at the schoolyard, the view was out of this world. Our kids just loved watching the cows walk by every day and running around carefree. Oakhurst is an amazing place for any family, especially if you have children. We went over the Easter weekend and they had arranged a few extra activities for the kids like an easter egg hunt and cupcake decorating. The service was really great too. I highly recommended this getaway, we can't wait to go back!

This is our 3rd visit to Oakhurst - we love visiting the farm and seeing what Claire and Jake have added while we've been away. We brought our MTB's down this time so could make use of the pump track (what fun!) and the MTB trail through the forest which was lovely. We always head up to the dairy to check out the beautiful ladies and have a chat and were lucky enough to find Jake there who spent some time answering all our questions about the cows and the dairy.

Planning a wedding from the other side of the world was a challenge, during a pandemic was even more stressful but one of the easiest aspects was booking our accommodation. Oakhurst was the perfect place for our family and bridal party to call home during our wedding festivities. In the days leading up to the wedding, I would find myself checking in on their social media as it just looked so beautiful, and what a shock I was in for. Oakhurst was 100 x more beautiful in person than any picture could do it justice. When we arrived we were greeted with smiles and a fantastic coffee/ tea and FARM FRESH milk package. We had booked out x3 six sleepers, x1 4 sleeper, and The Forge. As our nearest and dearest arrived, everyone just could not get enough of the farm's natural beauty as well as the beautiful accommodation. Every little detail is thought of and the personal touches make you feel so at home. From the linen to the soaps, from the decor to the collection of books, the stunning grounds and fabulous activities, and everything in between, I am still speechless. We all braaied at The Forge on the Friday night and could enjoy the stunning evening on their large covered deck. Everything one needs for a braai is there and the setup makes it so easy to just relax and enjoy ( even the night before your wedding). On Saturday morning, us girls were treated to the most delicious farm-fresh breakfast baskets. My word, I 100 % recommend it as an Oakhurst must. Cooking breakfast in the stunning Forge kitchen, overlooking the fields and forest had us all dreaming of a life on the farm., and those delicious smells, yum! From what I hear, the boys had a great time getting ready in Lenies Lair, while us girls had makeup set up on the deck and one of the beautiful bedrooms and hair in the other. There was more than enough space for us to get ready, have breakfast and take photos without getting in each others way. On that note, I must say, and from the photographers as well, The Forge makes the perfect setting for bridal - get ready photos! Not only is The Forge beautiful, but also super romantic and I would highly recommend for couples, honeymoons, and anniversaries. There was personalized service with a smile throughout our stay and I am forever grateful for everything. Thank you to Claire and Wilna for an unforgettable stay. Oakhurst is a beautiful hidden gem that South Africa can be very proud of. A place that is naturally beautiful, while luxurious, family-friendly while also being romantic. It is everything one needs to break away and just enjoy life. We will be back xx All our love the Kellermans

We had a lovely stay for a week. So much for the kids (6 and 8) to do. Lovely running and MTB forest trails. Kids especially enjoyed the fishing. The whole area very scenic and a true farm experience . That will explain the flies in the hot weather so remember repellent. 😉. Management on site and good with communication. Very helpful if you need anything. We hired a bike( for oupa) and fishing rods. We stayed in Kweens Kaya. Perfect for a small family. Will recommend to anyone who enjoy farm life or looking for relaxing , down to earth break. We went cycling off the farm as well down to Wilderness ( 7 passes road towards george) 20km from Oakhurst to Wilderness. Spectacular views , mostly downhill. Worth doing on a clear day. Inbox me for more info. Did it with our own bikes though.
