Stayed here for 3 nights, what a wonderful get away. If you want a no frills place, this is it, there is nothing here to do but dive and relax. Annabell and the staff are so nice! The huts were as described, very simple, beds were hard, but as expected, you are not here for luxury. The toilets worked, teh lights worked and we were able to charge our phones and batteries. Cold shower worked. The food was very good, you eat what they prepare, no choices, and again, you need to understand this when you go there. There was plenty of food and eating with everyone was a time to visit and get to meet new people. As for the diving, it was unreal!, either dive from the dock or a 5 minute boat ride depending on current. The shark night dive was amazing!!!! truly unbelievable and mesmerizing. The only problem is I don't know how to top that dive. Everything was great there, so peaceful and quite, you forget about all the world problems and enjoy life. Takes a while to get there, but worth the trip. Thanks to all there for your hospitality

The best diving in French Polynesia. Night dive is a must. You’re not paying for luxury accommodation or a peaceful time here, although the views are beautiful and the pink sand beach is only a stones throw away. My bungalow had some issues and the doors/windows didn’t shut but don’t let that deter you. Two nights is enough to pack everything in, fishing in the first evening, 3 dives on your full day and a trip to the pink sands on your last morning. Just make sure you come well rested!

Be prepared to stay in a very basic bungalow with no glasses, no shampoo, hardly any light at evening and no lock on the door - and experience great food, amazing views above and below water and very friendly staff.

This is a diverse paradise. Very relaxed, people eat together after the sound of the bell and talk about todays discoveries.

Snorkelling is wonderful too! The reef is 5 meters from the beach and you can easily enter from beach of bridges.

The hotel offers daily shuttle boat to a bounty island area free of charge. Amazing with just sand and palms.

If you book a stay at Tetamanu Village you will regret it. We went to dive with the famous sharks of the South Pass of Fakarava. The trip was a disaster! The staff including the manager and dive master quit the week before we arrived. Our emails had gone unanswered prior to arrival but we did not know why. The new manager was clueless and distressed. They had overbooked and gave us a beyond rustic unit on a separate motu. Cold salt water for showers, no drinking water, no screens, old foam pads for mattress. At meals, there was never enough food so people lined up and were fighting to get enough to eat. There was only 1 divemaster for 39 guests - totally illegal. We were only allowed to dive once a day, when the only reason to be there is for the diving! To complete the disaster, a dangerous swell hit the island and washed away the rickety bridge connecting our unit to the main motu. Our unit flooded. We had pack our stuff fast and rush to high ground to be rescued by boat. The owner was present but was overwhelmed and cannot manage the operation. The pass and sharks were amazing for the two dives we had. Hopefully the operation will be sold to a company with resources.

We were for 2 days in Tetamanu village.
What a great experience!
Being at the end of the peak tourist season this place was magical. Eating and watching sharks, poles and a multitude of fish evolve before our eyes is incredible.
Thank you to Rosalie and the whole team for their kindness and availability.
The cook spoiled us and there again , as some comments say not to worry about quantity of food. They've been taking care of us.
Paul the captain was equally available.
Certainly the price is high for “rudimentary” rooms (we were happy with the quality of the sleeping) but we must not forget that we are far from everything with what it can generate in logistics. This price also includes the bungalow, full board , pink sands trip and even for those who want a fishing trip.
In short we were delighted , but if you can choose a date out of the tourist rush
In short we were delighted.

Read the reviews before deciding to spend your time here. We didn't and regretted every minute. Horrible trip started with a horror, 2.5 hour bumpy and windy boat ride partly in the dark. We understood that the accommodations are basic, but the bungalows are also very uncomfortable and dirty. The cooks try but the food is mediocre. No matter how long you stay, you get no clean towels and have nothing to clean the floor or bathroom with. The bungalows get very dirty very quickly. Having to go to bed every night with dirty feet is one thing to look forward to. The beds are uncomfortable, there is very little water (and no hot water) and the sink plugs up easily. The diving did not make up for the discomfort. Saw sharks, yes, but not as exciting as diving at other islands in French Polynesia. The reefs seem healthy but the dives are not planned to do anything but see sharks (which gets old after a day or two). The dive organization is poorly run and at times put divers in dangerous situations. Would not recommend Tetamanu Village no matter how much you want to see sharks. We counted the minutes before we could leave.

I read reviews before I booked Tetamanu Village for my husband and I so I new what to expect. The 1 1/2 hour boat ride to the Resort was pretty rough. It was dark no lights that I saw guiding us. The water was pretty rough with a lot of rocking due to high waves. I actually was a little nervous and relaxed at the same time. Dinner was waiting for us on our arrival and direction about our stay was given. Many reviews I read stated no toilet seat in their bungaloo (we didn't have one) torn mosquito nets (true). My rags at home were better than the towels that we received. I knew this going in so I was ok with all of this. We loved it here. Loved sleeping at night with the fresh air blowing through the windows and front door. The food was plentiful and very good. Drinks were beer, punch and wine if you wanted alcohol. Not much of a variety and not always available. Again this is not a Resort that people are waiting on you and trying to please you at all times. You are not always greeted with a big smile but as long as you are respectful and don't expect a lot you will be pleased with your accommodations. The fish, the views, diving and snorkeling are so wonderful. I loved the black tip sharks and couldn't wait to see them as much as I could. The variety of and amount of fish you see as you snorkel just off of the decks of your room and especially the docks where you eat are amazing. We stayed four nights. Two of which we met pretty amazing people from different areas of the world. The next two nights we were the only guests (we were called the the VIP guest of these two days). We visited the pink sand beach a few times. I didn't see much pink but the area was beautiful and took many pictures. Sylvie spent a lot of time with both my husband and I. She explained detailed information on Tahiti, diving and her background. She took a lot of time getting my husband certified for diving and explained all we needed to know for safe diving. She was always pleasant and helpful and went out of her way to help us with anything we needed. She made this visit even more special. We were very happy with our stay and would love to return one day. Recommendations would be to have a toilet seat, no holes in the mosquito net and a little nicer towels.

Extraordinary location for a structure unfortunately for years without maintenance and decidedly mismanaged. In the huts, the mattresses are old and very damp, the shower water strictly cold and drain fillings or toilet failure a constant. Placed doors and windows do not provide adequate protection from the ocean wind which at night can be very strong and very cold.
The common areas (dining and relaxation area) are quite dirty, furnished with result objects, often broken (as well as the terraces of individual homes).
Full Pension with limited amount of food requires you to always show up sufficiently in advance at meals because if you do not risk not finding anything. There is no dishwasher; everything is washed very superficially by hand and you can often find the dishes still dirty.
The staff, reduced to the bone, do what they have learned and been taught to do. That is, just under nothing.
A real shame because the place is a real charm and the people authentically nice.

The village is so incredibly remote in an already remote part of The Tuomotu Islands, that they get 3 stars for just existing! As such, expectations need to be very realistic. The village lodging is rustic but functional. The food is fresh and well prepared but the menu is inherently limited. It’s hard to get a fix on the staff situation. Everyone was generally receptive when I initiated communication, but no one made an effort during our stay to proactively ask how everything was going or show any outward sense of friendliness. Maybe that aloofness is cultural or maybe they were just shy because we didn’t speak much French. I guess that with such a small facility, that there would have been more of a family feel.

If you are interested in doing the night dive with the sharks, this village has the ONLY dive shop that does it. For me, it was worth the trade offs to be proximate to the night dives. If you are more into creature comforts and a higher level of meal quality and you can live without the night dive, it’s probably better to stay in north Fakarava and do a day trip to the south.

Location perfect, you do not only feel at the end of the world, you really are.
The boat transfers, airport pick up etc were perfect, we were well welcomed.
Our bungalow was in the Village, on a small motu, beautiful, Yes, all the bungalows are basic, there is no warm water in the shower, during the night if it rains it might drop a bit on you, but all this experience is authentic. Due to their location and not much competition, prices are quite high..
The foods is good but almost every evening the same choice in the buffet and still don't expect much abundancy, it might be that some courses are over fast and never replenished.
Alcohol, juices, sweets, fruits I would have even purchased more, but unfortunately they did not have good supplies at the time.

We are not divers and did not dive just snorkeled in front of the bungalows, from the village village beach till after the restaurant.. and on repeat for 5/6 days.. its just breathtaking, the fishes, the shards

and I hope the octopus I met there on the way to the restaurant.. is still around, maybe someone can reply me? :)

recommend to go ore than once to the pink sand beach, is just soooo more than perfect, ideal Polynesian paradise. I hope that all the corals will look similar in the waters of other Polynesian islands

Mako was the dog that kept us much company during our stay, belonging to someone in the village..
