Stayed here for our 20th anniversary and it was the best traveling experience we've had. We had wanted to go to Bora Bora our entire lives and had built it up so much, but I'm happy to say that this experience even exceeded our wildest expectations. It's really hard to nail down just a few things when they did everything right, but I'll do my best. The property is incredible. The location, the water, the amenities, the staff, the food, the activities...all of it. We left one time for a snorkeling expedition, but stayed on the property the entire time we were there otherwise. We even canceled our dinner at Villa Mahana, as there was no reason to leave the property. The Lagoon Restaurant has to be a highlight. The patio there might be the best view in the entire world. Get there for a drink around 5:30 and then grab dinner 7:00 or 7:30. I can't not talk about the staff here as well, as they are just as great as the views are. Everyone spoke great english and was nothing but courteous and helpful. I wish I would have gotten more names, but our host, Moana, was wonderful, as was Todey in the beach area. Loved grabbing breakfast and just chatting with him each morning. Medi at Lagoon was our waiter a few nights and there is simply no one who can come up with better suggestions on food and wine pairings than him. His service was impeccable! Also want to thank Simone & Matria at Te Apu for taking such great care of us at breakfast at each morning. Just writing about all of you here makes me want to go back! Want to give one final thanks to Cathi and the team at Pacific for Less for coaching us along the way and making this trip what it was for us. God willing, we will be back!…
The St. Regis Bora Bora is an iconic luxury resort set in some of the most breathtaking scenery we have ever witnessed. The colors in the water are indescribable! Literally at every turn of your head it is a feast for the eyes. Riding our bikes through the grounds after breakfast, jumping off our deck at sunrise, seeing Stingrays swim past us, fresh cocktails while watching an hour long sunset - it is all so magical! This is our second trip here and we plan to come every year but it is not because of the views. We will be coming for the heart and soul of the St. Regis - the people who work here! The amount of staff who greeted us by name and remembered us from the year before was astonishing. We felt so incredibly welcomed by the familiar smiling faces staring with our fantastic butler Diana who remembers every detail of our stay and recreated it. From a lei greeting at our helicopter arrival to the ice delivery daily knowing we are sunning on the deck to the late check out allowing us another day of dining on our deck and swimming before our departure. She is what elevates 5 star resorts to a notch more and for seasoned luxury travelers this does not go unnoticed - this builds loyalty. Nightly dinner’s at Lagoon are absolutely superb and on a Michelin Star level 100% Exquisite pairings and one of the finest culinary experiences we have had. Our dinner was made even more special by our requested waiter each night Mehdi. He was such a professional yet so friendly and knowledgeable. Absolutely excellent service, thank you Mehdi. The 727 bar where we sat to watch the sunset every night while enjoying cocktails was magical. We felt so cared for by Pauline who remembered everything we love from our favorite table to how we love our drinks. Her level of service genuinely provided such an enhancement to an already incredible experience. The happy and always smiling staff are the reason this is beyond a 5 star resort, this is beyond luxury. The St Regis Bora Bora is the epitome of service done with the warmest of hearts by an incredible staff. Until next year 💖 Mauruuru from Rick & Christine Wood…
I am slightly ashamed that it took me this long to leave this review. My husband and I traveled to Bora Bora for our anniversary in late October 2021. We had originally intended to only stay at the St. Regis for 6 nights and then return home to San Francisco. But once we got there, we couldn't leave. We actually extended our stay another 2 nights. We are Ambassador elite. After the first three nights in our very lovely one bedroom overwater bungalow, we got upgraded to a two bedroom overwater bungalow with private pool and mountain views. I was stunned when I walked into this villa. I cannot express how stunning and peaceful this experience was. We ended up doing a number of activities. The sunset private sail and the private helicopter tour of tupai were top notch. My husband also loved the wake surfing experience. But just relaxing on the private beach, kayaking across the bay, and paddle boarding around were our favorite activities. Skip the whale watching. They all tell the same nonsense story about how it's a 50/50 chance you'll see whales and then no one sees any whales. If you want to see whales, go to Moorea. We also got multiple massages. The masseuse Emma was incredible. I think it was the best massage I've ever had in my entire life. We also went over to the Four Seasons for dinner and I think the St. Regis is the far superior property. The food was better (the Italian place was actually our favorite), the grounds more luxurious, and the beach at the St. Regis cannot be beat! It's at the end of the cove so it's more private. Due to some kind of mix up or staffing issue, we never got a butler. I'm not sure what happened there, but every time we called the help line someone showed up right away with whatever we needed. We just didn't have that dedicated personal attention. Keep in mind that Oct 2021 was just as Bora Bora was re-opening to tourism after a significant hiatus and most of the resorts were woefully understaffed. I'm sure it's better now! The wifi was overall pretty reliable, but we did have an afternoon with no wifi while it was pouring rain. We tried to make the best of it, but as executives at companies, my husband and I don't ever really get to "unplug." I will say that we went in late October and had about 60% rain and 40% sun. The rain is aggressive. It wasn't just a light sprinkle that passed after a few minutes. It was torrential downpour for hours. It was a lot of added stress to constantly be re-booking the activities around the rain. We did find the apple weather app was accurate for hour by hour but not days out. Based on everything I had researched, I would not go back to Bora Bora October - April and would only go May - September when you know the weather will more than likely cooperate. Of course it's a tropical place, so rain is common year-round, But trust me, the rainy season is not worth it given the time and expense to travel there. I'm sure the St. Regis won't like me saying that. After all, how can you run a hotel if your guests only come for half of the year? While I'll happily return to this gorgeous hotel, I definitely won't do so during rainy season. If you're on the fence about booking this beautiful hotel, just do it already. It's fabulous!…
Was here with my son. Wonderful place - wonderful service - wonderful people. Had a wonderful time! Some tips: Travelling with my 19 year old son, you do not want to sleep too close.. Twin beds do not exist , so one gets the big db bed and one ends up on a bunk bed in the TV room. Our Water villa was gorgeous and we loved the bikes that you use to get in and out of the long pathway to the center. We loved the food except for the noodle soup with chicken at the Asian restaurant (taste and feels like rubber) and the shredded beef with truffle and foie gras in the French restaurant was really not good. I can read here that others had same feedback Everything is so crazy expensive - snack sandwich is 46 $ - dinner beef 68 $ - glass of wine easily 25-30$ . I can therefore recommend to get as much included as possible (meals) when booking. Book the restaurant seating before arriving. They are fully booked quickly and only possibility is 21:00) but if you go there just before they open, they are very helpful. Once a week there is a Polynesian night with special menu and show. You need to book way ahead. Activities are not that many and again super pricy. Bring a scarf or sweater to the excellent French restaurant - it’s freezing if you are wearing a fine dress with no sleeves. All that said, we had a wonderful time, ate some of the best dishes ever (except from the 2 mentioned). Enjoyed all of it and decided to simply relax and not get annoyed by the prices. Don’t go here on a budget! Perfect for honeymooners!…
The St. Regis was unlike anything I could have imagined. The service, the scenery, the food, and the atmosphere were only something that we thought existed in books or movies. Every moment was incredible and the people who worked there were the nicest people we have ever met. Nothing will ever compare to St. Regis Bora Bora, and my husband and I are so thankful that we were able to experience it. Our travel Agency, Pacific For Less, made booking the travel, excursions, and everything else so seamless which was so important because planning a wedding is stressful enough. Also, my husband and I payed way less for the St. Regis and other excursions than we would have if we did not go through Pacific For Less.
We just returned from another incredible vacation at this truly exceptional resort. We stayed six nights in a beach bungalow (our favorite one) and enjoyed every minute! We’ve been to Bora Bora 9 times and this was our 7th stay at the St Regis. We’ve tried the other top hotels on the island and the St Regis simply is in a class of its own. Just off the plane, we arrived early and went to breakfast where we were immediately greeted with a warm smile from Matira: Not only did she recognize us right away but she remembered our coffee order (iced latte with coconut milk)! It had been a year since our last visit! We feel the dining has gotten even better overall. In particular Far Niente - we previously would’ve described it as “decent” but now, with whatever changes have been made, is excellent. Our risotto verde and truffle pizza were outstanding. On a side note, we always order off menu gazpacho (with some advanced notice). It’s fantastic and I think would be a great plant based addition to the permanent menu! We want to thank everyone at the hotel for the thoughtful gestures along the way, Especially the special treat for our anniversary and very thoughtful gestures for our daughters 4th birthday a few days later. The only hiccup was that both the Hobie Cat and Aquabike were broken (the Hobie Cat was broken on our stay last year as well). Minor inconvenience as there is plenty else to enjoy but still wish they’d been available for use as we love using both! Every day on our trip our daughter asked if we could come back next year. We will I’m sure!…
We started planning our "Bucket List" trip in 2019. Then COVID hit. We finally went in July of 2022. It started with a short email and phone call with Claudia at "Pacific for Less". We discussed everything we were looking for in this trip. They took it from there. We are so glad we chose this agency for this once in a life time trip! From the "Fast Track" through Customs and Immigration, to all of our dinner reservations. Everything was handled perfectly! A real thumbs up to the entire staff at PFL!! This trip would not have been the same without all your help!! Our stay at the St. Regis began with the Helicopter transfer from Taha'a, our first stop. If the Helicopter is an option, do it! One of the best highlights of our trip! We stayed 3 nights in a beach front villa and 3 nights in an Overwater. Both rooms were absolutely beautiful! Although it seems that everyone wants to stay in an Overwater Bungalow, We really enjoyed the beach front villa with the pool. We actually had three large Eagle Ray's join us out in front of our beach front room! What a treat! We tried all the different restaurants and they were all great. Moana Night was really good! Lagoon is over the top!! The Lagoonarium is outstanding! Don't miss the fish feeding. All the folks at the Spa were so friendly and helpful. The entire staff went over and above to make sure we had a wonderful trip. We did!!!…
I'm really not sure where to start or begin. It's hard to over rate and under rate this place. It's for sure middle of the road. They have seemed lost a lot along the way and for sure are missing tons of the St Regis Charm. There are many many plus/minus for this resort that it would take me a whole day to point things out. I'm sticking with 2.5 ⭐️ as not able to rate as TripAdvisor only has 1-5 so the middle star on the rating is 2.5 ⭐️ for reference. So, starting from the booking communication was close to excellent with response within about 36 hrs, on arrival we are greeted with hostess for resort escort on large yacht. Which is cool as all the other resorts have small "dingy" style boats. Reception is simple with small tours of the property. The property is rather large and you can get some good walks/runs in. The upgraded up to Over Water Bungalow as for our status. Which was great. The Bungalow 301 was last one out in the lagoon and had Great views of beach and liking around the corner to see Mt Otumantu "pardon" my spelling. During our stay we booked an extra night and unfortunately the Over Water were fully booked and was booked to Beach Villa which is gorgeous as in itself with a hammock and private pool 406. Both rooms/villas were private and quite. Very nice. The problems start with the quality of the service. It's all across the board.....our "butler" CARMEN, highly recommended ask for her if you can. Was great! But she generally only offers room services and basic needs. The problem is the food "it's terrible" the cocktails are god awful for the ridiculous prices they charge. And are far from consistent amongst the eateries and bars they you order from. The Lagoon Restaurant food was disgusting as I had to send back my Shredded Beef, fois gras with truffle mashed as was not edible. The beers are mostly room temp even as they put them in the cute little baggy with ice the necks are hot and just makes the whole beer lukewarm. The complimentary shuttle service to the "Bora Bora" main island is great but only allows for small window of time basically 11:30-1:30 with bus route. Being trapped at St Regis. And allowing more time for people to leisurely stroll and enjoy some of the things I think he main island would be much appreciated. Say maybe 11:30-3:30 or even 4:30. It's barely enough time to grab lunch. You have option to pay for private boat back. But it's pricey and this is service St. Regis should offer with more times for boat/shuttle service. You also have almost no access to snacks.....they do not sell beer to take to your room or wine. Just basic juices and soda and a few cookies and chips. Mind you they are excessively marked up. Not valid explanation for this. Especially when they are buying in bulk. They include buffet breakfast with you biking and it's about run of mill basic breakfast with open snacks buffet and basic order eggs, bacon, pancakes etc etc. yes it's free. No it's not great. The Bamboo Asian restaurant is probably the overall best dining "we was not able to try Italian as it was closed" however they are charging $22 for Edamame???? I mean common, seriously $22 for Asahi/Kirin beer??? What? And near $40 for sushi rolls. Not even the best sushi spots in the world charge that much. Insanity. I get it. It's the St Regis, oh....it's high end etc etc. no this is boldly ripping the customer and tourist off in their face. Plain and simple. We tried to boat a Jet Ski rental and you have to do a tour....that's silly, I don't want a tour. Just wanna ride for an hour or two around Beach and lagoon. If you're wanting to come here for great food and drinks it's not happening. And mind you there is no great food or drinks on the main island either. Be cautious when spending the "$$$$" dollars to stay at St Regis for very subpar dining options, drinks and service. The resort is pretty, it's gorgeous, it does need some updating it's going in about 18 years one now with not upgrades. Would I visit again probably, would I bring a suitcase full of snacks and beers this time for sure. Middle of road resort!!!…
We booked with Pacific for Less. I cannot say enough about their service. We had some flight delays with American Airlines and missed our original international flight. Pacific for Less was so helpful in helping us get a new flight booked and communicating with the St Regis who extended our stay at no cost and rearranged our weeding day/plan. I can't say enough about all the help, reassurance, and guidance Jennifer provided during that difficult stressful time. Once we arrived at the property everything was smooth and seamless. Seriously, the best service I have ever experienced. The staff at the St. Regis is unmatched. From the pool boys to the wedding coordinator everyone was so kind, helpful, cheerful and a pleasure to be around. Our butler Julian was fantastic as well.
This place was gorgeous and a perfect vacation everyone that worked there was so nice and ready to help you when needed it made the experience so much better with them. The rooms have everything you could imagine and if not the hotel will provide it for you. Clara was the amazing woman assigned to our group she could not have been better.
