My wife and I stayed 2 nights, meeting the waiting driver with my printed name sign at TKK Airport and followed him, carrying our bags to the van, arriving nearby at 3:30PM.
The nice receptionist took my name and produced a reserved form filled out with our room, door code and wifi code and we followed the porter up the stairs to the 4th floor.
Room #412 was tiled and spacious with a king and queen, both with solid mattresses, a water machine(steaming hot and cold drinking), refer, TV but no signal, slow secure room wifi and quiet wall AC. A door opened to a large balcony with a view of the lush jungle of 1,100’ Mountain Tonachau.
We ate at their popular cafe/restaurant that opens at 7AM and 5:30PM for dinner with an extensive menu to suit most cultures; many fish preparations, pizzas, hamburgers, tacos and rice dishes.
We walked 850m down the main drag to the excellent Ace Hardware Store(best groceries), then 1.2km farther to the Truk Stop passing all types of small shops, bigger stores and large outfitters. These provide necessities for the fishing fleet and all the islanders coming on numerous shoreline skiffs that live within Chuuk’s large fringe reef.
We were pleased with this friendly 17 room hotel at the quiet end of town which included airport transfers, nice accommodation and 24 hour reception.
On the negative side the elevator was “out of service”, so our 4 story climb became a workout.

I was picked up at airport (make arrangements prior) but if you don't have 70kilos (120lbs+) of dive gear, you can exit the airport a d turn left. About 50-100 meters
Staff if really friendly. Elevator is out as is the TV. No need however look out the window...
There is a restaurant and so far I had the pancakes and latte, pancakes were excellent, latte was good enough.
Room is clean and comes with a water cooler.
Bed is comfortable, in fact better than the hotel I stayed in Guam.
Going to walk around and check out the local sites

Clean comfortable rooms, helpful, attentive, kind staff & good food in restaurant downstairs. Cappuccino, generous servings of food! Great location, across the street from the airport but only 2-3 flights per day so very quiet. Easy walking access to stores and the dock.

It was quite hot during my trip. The rooms air conditioner was wonderful and a comfortable bed. They were able to clean our rooms early because we arrived well before check in. One drawback is my room didn’t have a refrigerator. The cafes food was so amazing. If you’ll drive around the island you’ll realize how lucky you are to stay here.

Would not recommend for you to stay here. I stayed in rooms 217 and 216. There was no fridge in both rooms. AC for room 216 didn't work. Sink in bathroom for room 217 was blocked. Reported issues to front desk on first day, however nothing was done for the whole two weeks that I stayed. It's best you make your reservation at either Truck Stop Hotel or at Blue Lagoon Hotel.

L5, never disappoints. Booked 2 rooms on a day notice for me and my associate from NC. We had some last minute work to do on island and was able to secure overnight.
Staff is always friendly, same with the Cafe. The cafe offers smoothies and the Illy coffee.
We strongly recommend L5 for your stat while in Chuuk.

I've written a review before but it seemed to disappear into cyberspace. I also made a suggestion to Tripadvisor that this establishment be listed with Hotels rather than Bed and Breakfasts in Chuuk as it is certainly the former.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at L5 and will be back. With government rates it was definitely excellent value, and I hope they continue to offer the special even as demand for their rooms will certainly increase.

The greeting on arrival at 2am from Pohnpei was friendly, and we were quickly shown our 3rd floor mountain facing rooms which were immaculate on check in. My room was missing its information sheet, which might have been helpful knowing some of the things (like gym and laundry) they offered before we actually asked.

Beds were comfortable with very nice linen, a little bit of a shame they went for two single beds in the twin share rather than doubles or queens which could still have fit in the spacious opulent feeling rooms. For tall people their feet will be hanging off the end. My colleague who had a room to himself said the queen bed was great.

Bathroom was also very nice with new fittings, and nice amenities like shampoo, bathrobes, slippers, etc, just not quite enough counter space for two women sharing.

Wifi was as good as it gets in Chuuk, with repeaters on each floor. Plugs for your electronics are a bit hard to find, the main usable one for laptops seemed to be way up the wall by the air con above the table, I was glad to have brought my own multiplug adapter. The outlet beside the bed has the lamp wired in so cannot be used.

The fridge was stocked with orange juice and iced coffee and some sodas for very reasonable prices. There was free drinking water. It was really handy to have in room instead of having to go out. They also had a coffee maker I think.

There was still construction and ongoing refurbishment when we stayed (four colleagues) and it meant some noise during the day which they were very apologetic for, but it didn't bother us. The aircon was a bit noisy and must be real energy suckers, white noise machine to sleep by ;)) and they are planning to replace them.

I didn't have a chance to use the small gym. I did use their laundry service which was reasonable, they also offered us the option to do it ourselves using their coin machines.
We used the lounge at the end of our third floor rooms for a small informal meeting of six people and it was very comfortable for that.

We rented a car with the room, which was in great condition considering the Chuuk roads, and washed daily. The valet parking/bellhop guys were great, as were the rest of the staff.

It took some time for check out because of challenges splitting bills on their new computer system.

Laeside restaurant is about 50 yards down the road and does decent breakfast, lunch and also pizza in evenings. I think L5 is also going to open a restaurant later as well. Which considering Chuuk's reputation for security issues at night, will be good.

The L5 Hotel is a very comfortable and convenient hotel for the business, or any other, traveler. It is located directly across the street from the airport and even though it is in walking distance, someone from the hotel will meet you at the airport and drive you across the street. They provide some of the newest rent-a-cars on island and the rooms are definitely some of the best rooms in the FSM. The rooms are immaculate with comfortable beds and amenities. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have wifi on every floor and everything just works the way they are supposed to. In-room amenities include a coffee maker, microwave oven, refrigerator, blow dryer, robe, slippers, cable TV, safe, and wifi. If you stay in the ocean view rooms, they have a queen size bed while the mountain view rooms have 2 single beds. Water pressure is great and high quality bathroom adds to a restful stay. They have a conference room and meeting rooms available but no restaurant. The nearby Leiside Restaurant is a great place to eat but they do not accept credit cards. The High Tide Restaurant is also close by and they accept credit cards but the food isn't as good as the Leiside. The L5 Hotel has a working elevator and is very safe. Being near the government offices and other businesses makes it a convenient place to stay. Not to mention the roads surrounding the hotel have been recently paved and there are sidewalks if you want to take a morning walk. Overall, this is one of my favorite places to stay while I am in Chuuk.

I have stayed here twice. The rooms are big, clean and the staff is great. Internet is acceptable. They have a new restaurant which opens early and provides good food. Only ten rooms on the third floor. Across from airport. Great location for everything other than diving.
