Detailed Reviews
We stayed for two nights and experienced the full package! From the first phone call, nothing at all was a problem to Pam & her wonderful team. The lovely renovated two befroom apartment was just perfect for the four of us - arriving early evening, the heating had been put on well in advance, it was spotless, cosy with beds way beyond comfortable, a brilliant shower & access to all amenities to allow us to be totally independent for the two days. This was perfect for my elderly parents (86 & 88) who felt ‘at home’ in the easy to get about layout. A last minute order (after hours) for a continental breakfast for the older generation was efficiently taken care of ... & very well received! It’s been quite the talking point today!! Pam, thank you. Cedar Lodge Motel is the only place to stay in our opinion - highly recommended. Ange, Andy, June & Ron

The motel is conveniently located near the Botanical Gardens south of the centre of Timaru. It is on a main road, but we heard no road noise, despite being only two units back from the entrance. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had the impression that our unit had been built a couple of decades back, but had been renovated to a modern standard. It was spacious, with a large living room, a small kitchen, a spacious bathroom, and two bedrooms each with a large double bed (this meant the space around them was quite narrow). We were very comfortable there.

This was a very small motel room for three people there was a king bed in one room and a single bed in the other room along with two chairs and a table and chairs which made it very cramped. There were two hot plates for cooking and a fridge but so fans or air conditioning. As it was summer it was very stuffy in the unit so I suggest that maybe an air conditioning unit or at least a fan in each room. The unit was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was small. There is off street parking and it was quiet overnight to sleep. The rooms are serviced daily.

We can't recommend this motel highly enough. Firstly Pam and her team were super friendly and went above and beyond for us and made us feel so very welcome. They upgraded us to a gorgeous 1 bedroom unit which was super quiet with a huge comfortable bed, very spacious and such comfortable lounge chairs, & an extendable dining room table. Also many windows to open for ventilation if needed, with a beautiful outlook onto the spacious garden area. The motel is next to the Botanical Gardens as well, as an extra bonus. We couldn'f fault this place.

This is a very comfortable motel. The hostess was very friendly and informative, passing on her knowledge of the restaurants nearby.
Our room was a 1 bed unit. Very clean throughout. We only stayed one night, but it was very well equipped and I would easily have stayed for a couple more nights.
Although the motel is on the main road, it was extremely quiet.
We did walk into the town, it took about 35 minutes.

We had a very pleasant stay at Cedar Lodge Motels. Jody was very helpful in trying to fit us in on a weekend when everywhere was booked out. Our unit was lovely, clean and modernised and well away from the main road traffic. Would most certainly book to stay there again when next in Timaru.

Another amazing motel in New Zealand. Our room was very comfortable with separate bedroom and very comfortable bed. Everything was very clean and tidy and car parking right outside our room. Would highly recommend. Reasonable rates as well.

Stayed here with my daughter and grand daughters. Had a 2 bedroom unit. The hosts/staff were wonderful and friendly. The unit we had was beautiful and clean. Furniture was modern and a great TV. Beds were extremely comfortable for all of us. It had a spacious bathroom and kitchen had all we needed. We were really pleased with our decision to stay here.

This motel has a large living area and kitchenette with cooking facilities. The ensuite was spacious with a lovely deep spa bath which was the perfect remedy after a big week. The staff were lovely. Would definitely stay here again.

We booked online a std queen sized studio first thing in the morning of our stay which was in between Xmas and new year. We'd been on the road since getting off the Picton ferry at 4.30am. Our accomm plans had changed and were arriving in Timaru earlier than the standard check in time of 2pm. I called and left a message, the owner called me back soon afterwards and assured me they would try to cater for an early check in even though they were busy turning around all the rooms. When we arrived nothing was a problem and our host wa super friendly and welcoming. We were exhausted from car travel and able to have a good nap before going out later. Our studio unit was very clean, tidy, spacious and quiet. The large bed was super comfy and there was a separate kitchette. There was also a separate single bed and two armchairs in the room. Wifi is supplied. I would recommend Cedar Lodge!
