Harbour View is in a prime central position, located within 500m of Timaru's CBD, restaurants, bars, popular wedding venues, new Aquatic Centre and Art Gallery. Our location places us within easy walking distance to some of the best restaurants, cafés and bars that Timaru has to offer. Five minutes driving takes you to almost anywhere in Timaru. Shopping is relaxed and there is something for everyone. The beach is right on our doorstep, and the giant family playground at Caroline Bay offers great entertainment and the Aigantighe Art Gallery is just up the road. There is a choice of two nearby wedding venues being Seven Oaks Reception and Sopheze On The Bay. We are also close to the new Aquatic Centre and Northtown Shopping Centre is a short drive down the road.

Highly recommend the Harbour View for it’s excellent location & cleanliness. Everything is pretty much brand new and the bed was really comfortable. Jill , the person in charge during our visit, was absolutely fantastic and could not have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. We would 100% stay at the Harbour View again on any future trips to NZ.

We received a very warm welcome at check in and enjoyed our stay in a spacious room. Good cooking facilities, comfortable bed and good size bathroom. Located a short distance from the main shops, bars and restaurants this motel is well placed. We felt we received very good service and that we enjoyed value for money. We have no hesitation in recommending this motel to fellow travelers.

Excellent Motel, located close to he centre of Timaru, where we received a very warm welcome, along with very helpful advice on local facilities . Clean comfortable room and good kitchen facilities. We would recommend this motel to fellow travellers.

Booked an overnight stay after 7 hours driving , very tired luckily only 1 night. right on highway you could hear trucks and cars all night long. Not recommend this place if you want any sleep, also it states harbour view you can see cranes and a small glimpse of water

The name is misleading. There is no view although the harbour is nearby. The rooms are very good, clean and warm with good kitchen facilities. There are ample take aways and restaurants within a 5 -10 minute walk. It’s a bit noisy with traffic as it’s on a busy road. Handy for a stopover but would not suggest it as a base.

For a motel - great can’t fault it. Easy location, well priced. Seems to be the best accomodation in timaru.
Only downfall is we had pre paid but were asked to pay again due to new owners not having proper documentation of payment. We ended up having to spend time showing our end of payment etc so they wouldn’t charge us twice.

Stayed in the house room 15. Roomy and comfortable two-bedroom accomodation. A two bedroom house with large kitchen / dining room and lounge room. Reception staff friendly and very helpful. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay.

We stayed two nights in October perfect getaway from Christchurch. We had an upstairs two bedroom motel with great views. On busy road but no noise & always something to watch. Easy walk to cafe's & restaurants so didnt need to use the car. Friendly welcome & comfortable beds, electric blankets an added bonus. Good Wi-fi. Highly recommend & can't wait to return.

Stayed here 3 nights last week for work as I couldn't get into my usual accomadtion. The motel was modern exceptionally clean it had a tv in the main room and the bedroom. Bathroom was spacious with good water pressure, bed was super comfortable. Yes it is on the main rd as are 99% of motels in Timaru are, but was well insulated so minimal road noise. The management team were excellent and exceedingly helpful. Got speaking to other regular motels guests and got talking about the review below by isaduce2015, and all agreed with the managements decision to cancel her booking. We struggled to see how any reputable accomodation that's has any kind of integrity would allow 6 persons under the age of 18 to stay unsupervised. We all came to the same conclusion that isaduce2015 review was a case of someone being nasty, spitefull, vindictive and would question their ability to look after minors. We noticed she wrote another scathing unwarranted review of some other accomadation of Timaru.
Final word come and stay at Harbourview you won't be disappointed, did I tell you that all pubs, restaurants and attractions are within walking distance. Would I stay here again ? In a heartbeat.

Mr Me + 4 x Mr Colleagues booked 5 rooms. Very modern and spacious units. Options from ground floor to upstairs. Choose from spa equipped units too. Very professionally run clean and tidy operation. Sadly, like almost all accommodation options in Timaru, it is next to the main road and near the trains. Trains don't run often. Double glazing made a difference - certainly better than other places I have stayed.
