We recently stayed one night here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts were extremely helpful and the breakfast delicious. The views from our rooms were beautiful. The rooms were extremely clean and everything was there that you needed for an overnight stay. It was lovely and quiet. Would thoroughly recommend this excellent accommodation.

My father comes from Timaru so I've made regular trips south throughout my life. This time we booked at Pleasant View so we could leave the busy main road plus it had great reviews. About 2 minutes drive from SH1 this B&B this a haven in Timaru in an area I've never been. We had the room with a lovely view over Caroline Bay which was a great size and had a very comfortable bed (I was 26 weeks pregnant so comfort is extremely important to me). We opted for the continental breakfast with yummy muesli. You can watch a DVD when you don't feel like going out and all-in-all very had a very nice stay and would definitely go back.

We checked in late at 7:00 after a drive from Kaikoura, but we phoned ahead to Rosemary who said that was no problem. We parked in her driveway off the street, and moved our luggage into the ground floor guest room. The lounge and bedroom were spacious, wonderfully furnished with modern comfortable furniture, and we had a 180-degree view of the bay. The beds for 3 were the most comfortable so far of our South Island trip. Heaters can be adjusted in the rooms to suit your needs, and the beds had electric blankets too. Breakfast the next morning was abundant and tasty- both hot and cold items. We enjoyed the company of the other guest at the breakfast table. Right outside the front door of the home is a trail that winds along the seaside cliff in a park to a secluded beach. We loved it. Thank you Rosemary!

I stayed here last night and was very impressed with this B & B. I felt very looked after in a very clean and tidy environment, fantastic hosts who even opened up their garage for me to store my Harley Davidson in overnight. Thanks for a really great place to stay.

A warm welcome, a spotless room and a view to die for. Add to that a very nice breakfast with as extra some dolphins coming to say hello in the bay: this is a great place to stay. We only stayed the one night but will be back for a longer stay. This B&B offers a personal service at an honest price in combination with a perfect location. Pleasant view B&B offered us the best bed we have ever slept in, I should have asked where they got them from! Book early as they are booked up all the time! Thanks Caroline for your advice on places to see, it allowed us to make the most of the limited time we had available.

This B&B was considered a must to visit from someone who had been before. We arrived and were welcomed by Rosemary who showed us around. We stayed for two nights and it was magnificent. The accommodation is modern, spotless, spacious and caters for your needs. The sitting room is large and comfortable with a small kitchen. The view of Caroline Bay is spectacular, helped by the huge glass windows that make up most of the home. There are two bedrooms. We stayed in the king bedroom and enjoyed the lights over the bay at night and was lucky enough to see the sunrise in the morning. Our breakfasts were excellent and Rosemary was very accommodating. Her home made muesli is delicious! Everything was beautifully presented. Rosemary and Ian were always available if needed but the design of the home gives you privacy at the same time. The coastal walk is virtually outside the door which takes you along the coast and down to Caroline Bay and was a pleasant experience. Everything about this B&B is excellent, thoroughly enjoyable and I highly recommend it.

We stayed here on route from Invercargill to Christchurch - our last night in NZ. This was ideal with only a 2 hour trip to the airport the next day. We had the Queen Room which looked out onto a courtyard at $125 a night. The room was very clean and comfortable with large ensuite bathroom. The views were 180 degrees from the guest communal lounge and kitchenette. Free parking and wi-fi and fantastic views of Timaru. We tried out Punjab's Indian on Stafford Street - and the food was fantastic and alot of it. We would certainly stay again.

This place is the best bed and breakfast I have come across New Zealand.

Ian and Rosemary are real sweethearts and a very friendly and courteous hosts.

The property is clean and tidy with amazing views. Add to it superb breakfast.

This is simply amazing. Nothing less than a 5 star experience. This place set such high standards on our trip that everything else that followed (including 500$a night resort) seemed mediocre.

I’d book again just for the breakfast and the couple’s warm and welcoming nature. Add to it amazing sea views and a gorgeous walk.

This is the perfect place to stay when exploring Timaru. Rosemary is very welcoming and the place is immaculate. The lounge is large with a good kitchenette, tv and DVD selection, large couch and wonderful breakfast table. The double bedroom overlooking the water is perfect with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. Loved our stay, enjoyed the good wifi, the cooked breakfast, easy parking and the nature walk right outside the front door.
