Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here several times over a few months, excellent location. Very friendly hosts, clean rooms with great amenities. Would highly recommend whether staying for business, or pleasure. Home away from home with options to suit all from spacious 2 bedroom apartments to executive rooms, something for everyone.

I am a light sleeper and had requested a quiet room. What I got was a beautiful one, away from the road with an awesome bed, a perfectly quiet aircon and a cool spa bath tub. Without having to ask, Leah came out in the morning with a jug of water to de-ice our windscreen. I truly appreciated the stay and I will be back! Thank you!

Excellent room - Clean & tidy Host was excellent At the time I booked (with short notice) I could only get two nights when I needed 4 due to all of Timaru booked out months prior. However after talking with staff to try and get extra nights, within 24 hours the motel contacted me to see if I had found any accommodation and offered me an extra night due to a cancellation. I believe many other accommodation providers would not have bothered to try and contact me. This is great customer service

Our stay was awesome the staff were great and the room was very quiet, warm and extremely clean. The bed was very comfortable. Centrally located and close to a number of great restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay again. Full kitchen if we needed to cook.

I love staying here - it's my go-to place to stay in Timaru. Always really friendly and super clean. I especially love how the heatpump is on in our room when we arrive late - very thoughtful and much appreciated :)

We have stayed at the Bay Viaduct Motor Lodge several times over the years and have always be very impressed with the quality and cleanliness of our room and the friendliness of the owners Carol and Noel Stafford. We always book the same room. Our room has a lovely spa bath which is very relaxing after a day of travelling or exploring the local sights. The kitchen is excellent for anyone wanting to cook a meal and the view from our room over looks the bay. The room is very warm and cosy on a cold day but in the summer it is lovely to sit out on the balcony enjoy a cold drink and watch the world go by.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished that we could have stayed another night just to enjoy the cleanliness and comfort of the room, bed as well as the comfortable crisp white sheeting and pillows. The staff were so friendly and helpful, highlighting on the Timaru map all the restaurants and take-aways close by (there's a lot to choose from). We heard the train pass by when the door was open which added to the whole atmosphere but when the door was closed, you hardly heard the traffic. We will definitely stay at the Bay Viaduct Motor Lodge again. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.
