Stayed a few days at Hoturoa with family and friends. Gorgeous, peaceful estate, with beautifully kept villas. Robert and Jane were lovely hosts and this was truly the highlight of our trip to New Zealand. We really enjoyed walking around the lake, talking and learning about the salmon hatchery from the Fish & Game guys. Look forward to returning soon.

Montrose Estate is a very special place. Stunning scenery from your accommodation, beautiful walks and so peaceful and relaxing. A shirt drive into Methven and less than an hour to Mt Hutt for skiing. We stayed at the owner’s retreat (Hotorua) which is an amazing house with unbelievable views (especially of sunrise). The house is luxurious and fully self-contained with all the trimmings. Couldn’t ask for anything else. The property manager Rob is a great guy and super helpful. We will be back!

8 of us stayed in the (Hoturoa-The Owners Retreat)for a long weekend. This place is just stunning with a GRAND view over the Rakaia river and amongst the montain and picturesque back drop. The place is very warm with 2 heatpump and 2 open fire with plenty fire wood. The 4 Room are nice and comfortable one large with ensuite and walking wardrobe 2 with king bed and one room with 2 single bed. Separet toilet and a bathroom with shower and a bath. Spacious TV room and also laundry if you need to do any washing. The Kitchen is great and as all the gadget needed to prepare and cook any food with a lots of crockery, cutlery and glasses and open up to a large table where you can set 12 people which is perfect for large group. The living room is comfortable with a couch and chairs with a lot of bay windows to admire the ever changing view and weather. This is a very peacfull and relaxing place away from the busy life of today and the outdoor spa at the end of the extencive deck is just great to soak in the nature that you are surended with. very enjoyable. Robert the owner will meet you at the gate and guide you down through a gravel road that leads to your accommodation which is just fantastic and to make sure you are at the right place Thank you, we will be back one day.

We stayed at the 3 bedroom house, Paewaka lodge; one of three different types of accommodation. It is located in a brilliant part of the country, stunning views, well set out house, everything provided that could be needed, including a bar and wine fridge, and is so spacious. It is close to a multitude of tourist destinations such as: jet boating, helicopter rides, golf courses, walks, kayaking, small towns with great food and if needed a great place just to chill out. Robert was a big help and answered all our questions and assisted us when we needed it. We loved Roberts dog Poi, what a character he is. Really recommend, you won't be disappointed.
