Stayed for three nights and place was clean even though a bit dated.
Lack of detail to rooms like shower soap holder loose and taps in basin cracked. A coat of paint would also help. Needs a good revamp. On a good note it is
very central with a short walk to restaurants and beach close by.
Staff also very friendly
Would stay again.
Thank you

Such a great location, with fabulous views of the sea - we loved it. The unit was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed, but as everyone has said, it is tired and therefore for me, not so pleasant to stay in. Even painting the interior would give the place a huge lift and modernise it - take off that old wallpaper, paint the brown doors, paint the kitchen cupboards (the existing paint is peeling off). I do think for the price, it is reasonable to expect a fresh, clean looking interior. The bathroom we had was adequate but old - it has an old showerhead that uses alot of water, as does the older toilet.

I just had to pop into trip advisor to say ... I stayed at Edgewater Motel for a few nights with my mother ... the managers Les & Val were fantastic in assisting with our needs as my mother requires special attention. Nothing was a problem and I would have no hesitation in recommending the Motel.

I will give 2/5 because the owner is so friendly and helpful, and the motel units are clean. However, to me a motel is rated most on the bed, then the shower, and when it comes to the bed, Edgewater missed by a very long way - utterly uncomfortable and lumpy pillows didn't help. The shower was great, though, even if the extractor fan didn't work and the mirror is not heated.
Overall, the units look like they haven't seen any maintenance for many years with tired paint, peeling wallpaper (who puts wallpaper in a bathroom??) and lifting carpet joins. And squeaky floors.
As far as location goes, 11/10 - just a few minutes' walk into town, right on the beach, and with the motorway now bypassing Orewa, very quiet.
In short, this motel has potential by the bucket load, but it needs some money spent on it.

Unbelievable resort price $470 😡for one night in a two bedroom run down Lockwood embarrassment…mould on the outside walls…mud all around..sodden dirty carpet on the ramp. Tired and rundown inside. Lounge chairs were cracked, the heater is rusty and bits fell off it. The place felt and smelt damp…like dirty socks. We went with 2 other couples and we were all shocked at the state of the place for the price, in fact my husband couldn’t sleep with the smell so he got up and went home at 3am…we don’t like being ripped off.. disgusted

Booked in for one night ended up staying three. Lovely one bedroom studio on first floor facing the sea and beach. Fabulous location and view. Great to sit outside the room, people watch, chat and watch the dog walkers. Room had a very well equipped kitchen with everything you need. Nice en suite. Very comfortable bed. Very clean and room made up daily by staff. Flexible, friendly and helpful hosts. Close to town centre with plenty of choice of restaurants, shops and bars. Two supermarkets in town. Only thing I would mention is room would benefit from an iron and ironing board for those enjoying a longer stay. Hairdryer available at reception.

On being welcomed from the UK a very warm one from Trina and Derek.

Allocated an Ocean front apartment and essentials on arrival in the kitchenette such as various teas, coffees, hot chocolate with milks

The view AMAZING and in the first floor but ground floor a great view too.

No complaints, lots of offers of fresh towels and linen and refreshments by the Staff.

Great neighbours too for first week here and compliments to both Derek and Trina.

Location just a must, if you need a beautiful place to stay right in the beach and a huge chill out this is the place.

Close to Auckland but far away for chill out, but do visit Puhoi.

Right on the beach, you can get easy access via the reserve next door to the motel.
Or if you are fit you can climb down the rocks in front of the property.
Easy Parking.
The owner is friendly and helpful. It is clean, comfortable and peaceful.
It is not modern but has everything you need for your stay.
Close to shops and restaurants.
I loved it here. I have already booked to return next month. Awesome place to stay and unwind.

Oh my goodness...this is real deal beachfront property.
After a lovely greeting from our host, we found our unit overlooking beautiful Orewa beach.
No 11 is upstairs in the middle. The views are to die for and the sunrise was magnificent.
The unit itself was very well equipped and absolutely spotless.
Will make this place our go to for our holiday stays.
Loved it so much.
Wendy from Te Awamutu.

Well worn and showing it’s age but spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Great comfortable bed, plenty of towels and as a bonus a heap of coffee and chocolate sachets in the kitchen.
Usually stay up the road but from now on I’ll stick with Edgewater.
