Detailed Reviews
This was formerly a Top 10 site now run by Auckland Council, and a very good job they are doing. The location of the site right by the beach gives stunning views of the bay, but considering it is close to the outskirts of Auckland it is amazing. The sites are well spaced and the amenities and facilities are clean and very functional. Our friends stayed in an en suite room and they too were very good. We will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. This park is so close to absolutely everything in Orewa. The surf club is only 5 mins walk away (highly recommend a visit) and the town centre only a stones throw further. The facilities at the park are fantastic, particularly for wheelchair access. We had a beach front powered camper site and it couldn’t have been better. Highly recommend!!

+1
Christmas in New Zealand wouldn't be complete without a camping experience. The site surpassed my expectations, offering glamping with amenities like a personal fridge, electric kettle, toaster, utensils, pots, and even wine glasses! Common areas, including the toilet/shower, kitchen, laundry, and TV space, were well-kept, and the beach view was exquisite even the water was warm and inviting. I could spend an entire day on the sand, gazing at the clear sky and listening to the soothing water waves. A return visit is undoubtedly in the cards!

We are Akl residents, brand new caravan, small dog whose behaviour is better than many humans. Charged $177 for three nights in a virtual sandpit (see pic). $5 per night extra for our wee dog for what exactly? A big fat nothing. Aucklanders who pay rates should get a discount. And sort out the bins. Ppl don t realise recycling area is behind kitchen so all rubbish is going into the green waste bins. Plus two non payers parked next to us got stuck in sandpit and made noise thru the night Won’t be back.

A lovely spot and very handy to auckland. We were given a beach front site. The only problem was had trees in front and behind so very tricky to get van into but good facilities. Staff pleasant and laundry cheap

We stayed in a self contained unit.
Has kitchen with micro, fridge, hotplate, no oven.
TV and single bed and couch bed in lounge.
Bedroom has a dbl bed.
250mb wifi free per day but you can pay for more.
Room quite musty, bedroom very hot, no fan.
Couch very low and uncomfortable.
Beach very close. Traffic from highway behind unit very noisy all the time. All units back onto highway. Couldn't sleep with noise. Wouldn't come back because of that. Camping or caravans are closer to beach and away from road.
Staff nice.

We arrived with a campervan and had no problem securing a large site at short notice. Facilities all clean and well maintained. Location right on the beach and all the restaurants/shops are a 10min walk down a nice pathway. We only did a one night stay but is happily come back again.

Orewa site used to be a Top 10 holiday park as we stayed here a few years ago. It is not as good as it used to be, not as clean, noisey and a bit unkempt. It is in a very good position for the beach and town centre and restaurants

This is good camp ground….we’ve been here many times…..but, I think we’ll look elsewhere in future. The problem with dogs here now is out of control. If you have a dog, (like we have) they need to be on a lead. If you don’t have your dog on a lead, they constantly bother people who are being responsible and having their dogs on a lead. The couple behind us were constantly harassed but a male dog. I spoke to the owner of the dog who was staying in one on the Yurts……I was told to mind my own business. The same dog then ran at and snapped a small child on a scooter, still they did nothing. We watched it defecate, run off to the sea on its own and it barked constantly. We were going to stay for another two day midweek but I spoke to one the the camp cleaners doing the yurts, and they just said “dogs are allowed” and walked off…
Would you call 3 large dogs roaming u leashed around the site “a pack” …..I would…we couldn’t even sit out site with our “tethered” small dog..
See picture taken from my van.
