Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed 2x Nights, unit 5. Price mid-range.
Contactless check in and out made everything ALOT more streamlined, all I wanted to do after a long drive was get in and wash up.

Room was open plan, no drawers. Bed was comfortable and there was an electric blanket <3 which I really appreciated as Ohakune is cold.

Small kitchenette with all you need to cook and coffee milk etc. Bathroom is bright and warm under the heat lamps impeccably clean and fresh. Shower has incredible pressure throughly impressed.

Ambience was to be expected for business trip. Bright lights relaxed clean tidy space, lots of Power points to plug in laptops and cellphones, tv to provide background noise and free strong wifi.

2 doors down from the main street with 2 restaurants at the top of the road, New World just around the block and Hot latte 1 min stroll away.

I am very happy with my stay and will return again. Thank you for hosting me.

Spent only one night here while doing a trip around the centre of the north island. Comfortable and clean and the owner was happy to make sure the bikes were secure for the night. Right in the middle of the strip so 5min will take you to all the bars and restaurants and New World supermarket. The best hot water pressure I have had for a longtime perfect for aching old bodies.

Stayed here on a Friday night after work function. Great location and the rooms are perfectly fine for a few nights. Easy check in and out. Has sky movies and sports. Plenty of bars and restaurants within five minutes walk. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a window to get away from Auckland, so we decided to ditch the car and book the train Thursday to Sunday, so we'd get one midweek ski day and one weekend day at Turoa. We found Alpine Motel through reviews. It was well priced for a room including a kitchenette and a perfect location right in the centre of town. The room was clean and cozy with central heating, electric blankets and a great shower. We had a lot of snow gear, but we fit nicely (one big suitcase, 3 carry on suitcases and two back packs full). The room included discount cards to TCB to rent ski gear a 2 minute walk away (stored it in the kitchen area), then headed to New World one minute beyond that. The shuttle pick up is even closer. The restaurants and cafes were all around us. The hot tub is clean and hot. The personal service was exceptional. You don't need someone present 24/7. You just need to communicate if needed. We felt like we moved right into town for our 3 night adventure. We'll be back, thank you.

We were 2 adults and a teenage lad. We took a studio room which included a double bed, single bed and a roll out (which we did not use). The room had a microwave, fridge etc, which was fine, as we ate out the whole week, buying breakfast and lunch on the mountain and dinner at the various options that were 2 minutes walking from the motel, in the heart of Ohakune. If you are driving through and want a very convenient stay, this would do the trick. Room was warm and comfortable, although lacking storage. We were happy with the room and would stay again.

Great weekend with a group of friends on a Grabone deal. Accomodation very clean with brilliant views of the mountain. Staff friendly and helpful. Cycling the Old Coach Road was good fun even for amateurs like us!

This would be a hotel to steer clear of. Staff are rude, appeared to be South American staff. Room was was dirty and the spa was absolutely appalling. Wouldnt let my kids near it. A picture picture paints a thousand words as you can see of the spa

My husband & I stayed here for 6 nights on a ski trip & found it to be exactly what we were expecting. The room was clean & tidy with an ensuite & small kitchenette. The room had a good heater which was on when we arrived which was a nice welcoming touch on a cold day. The location is great for walking to any of the local restaurants & bars. Having found the room on Wotif it was excellent value for that time of year. We would definitely stay here again.

Long drive from Auckland, pouring rain. Having stopped in Taumaranui for food rang Alpine to see if they have any spare rooms. Scott was helpful, had rooms and put the heaters on. We arrived around 9pm and it wasnt an issue. Comfortable room, great shower. Happy camper.

This regards the backpacker accomodation: paper-thin walls, only 1 power outlet used by heater, wall beside bed was soaking wet on the inside from a leak probably, overflowing rubbish bin and 1 kitchen table for about 20 rooms. Overpriced and well below par with other backpackers.
