Property's Favourite Review
Two Rivers Ohakune absolutely 'hit the mark' for us! From the late checkin, to the great Welcome Giftpack, to the fantastic room and its incredible view of Mt Ruapehu and - perhaps most importantly - hosts Scott and Ula's warm hospitality.
We enjoyed the relaxation and opportunity to 'reset', with walks along the river into town, casual meals out and time to just 'be'. The sound of the 2 rivers flowing past, less than 20 metres away, certainly added to the experience, as did chilling in the spa and getting some much-needed thinking time.
We will definitely be back!

Every now and again you stay somewhere which is so special you want to go back again and again. This is one of those places. The location at the confluence of 2 rivers makes it relaxing enough to cure the most ardent insomniac and the views over the surrounding farmland to Mt Ruapehu are simply stunning. Chris was a fabulous host and went over and above to make us welcome and provide everything we needed. There's a fabulous little bush walk into town and the thoughtful hosts even provided a torch for the wander home before hopping into their spotless spa to end the day. Just perfect!

My husband and I stayed at the end of June in the Rua Awa room with its own private spa. The room was warm, comfortable and new. Good large shower. Had a wonderful time and used the spa each evening, especially after the walk to the Tama Lakes. First thing I noticed was the lovely view of the mountain and the sound of the river. Great spot and close to town centre. Chris met us on arrival and took the time to show us around the facilities. He was a great host. We had a choice of cereals for breakfast which set us up for the day. The rooms have plenty of storage so we unpacked some of our bags and then put them away to give us a bit more space. We used the Netflix channel, which is available, to watch some movies. Would differently stay here again if we visit Ohakune or National Park again. I highly recommend this place.

Staying at Two Rivers was a delightful experience. Tucked away in a charming neighborhood, the guest house exuded warmth and coziness. Our room was tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, and equipped with all necessary amenities. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, offering personalized attention and helpful tips on local attractions. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring delicious homemade treats that set the perfect tone for exploring the area. The peaceful ambiance of the garden added to the overall charm. Two Rivers provided a relaxing retreat with genuine hospitality, making it a top choice for anyone seeking comfort and a homely atmosphere.

We had a fantastic stay at Two Rivers this weekend! Although we couldn't ski as planned, we were spoilt for choice by all the other activities to do within walking distance from the B&B (although we chose to spend most of our time in the hot tub admiring the incredible views!). Chris was kind enough to give us all his local knowledge on different walks, activities and places to eat. This made the weekend incredibly enjoyable without the ski session we had planned. The bed was super cosy, the place was impeccably clean and the hosts were friendly, welcoming and accomodating. We had a lovely breakfast consisting of prepped eggs, bread, yogurts, local jam and coffee. Thank you for such a great stay - We will definitely be back!

Two Rivers provided a wonderful opportunity for rest, relaxation and restoration. We felt thoroughly spoilt: waking up to the magnificent mountain views from our bed (Mangateitei Suite), enjoying time in the spa pool and relaxing while enjoying the tranquil surroundings - and the snacks provided. It was good to meet Scott and Ula who were thoughtful and helpful - ensuring that we had a fabulous break in this beautiful rural setting. The weekend away was a much needed welcome treat. Would highly recommend!

On a fine day this place has it all. Close to babbling brooks and gorgeous mountains. Scott, one of the hosts, welcoming and helpful. In our tiny room, care was taken to make it presentable and with various treats. The continental breakfast is adequate and thoughtful. But this place is touted as luxury accommodation and the price charged suggests just that. However we had one of three separate rooms, all of which seem tiny. So- there are two issues. The first is size. There is just not enough room to do much. No casual chairs- just a small eating table. It is a struggle to find a space to put things. The other is the design- those in the adjoining room use a common entrance way and must walk right in front of the outlook windows of the neighbors. So privacy seems not to have been thought through. It is what it is- probably adequate for a one night stay over but even then, it barely makes the cut especially for the upper range of cost.

I returned to Japan last week. I was lucky to spend the first two days of my first trip to New Zealand at Two Rivers Ohakune.
The hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature and beautiful river sounds. The rooms are clean, well designed and have privacy so that no one can disturb them.
Best of all, the warm hospitality of the hosts is amazing. If you want to avoid the crowds in tourist areas, this is the recommended inn.
I'm planning to stop in New Zealand for work next year, so I'd love to come back if I get the chance.

We had a lovely stay at Two Rivers. Chris and Maire were so welcoming, and their hospitality was second to none. The room was beautifully presented and had everything we needed, and the added luxury of a spa on the front deck. The setting was lovely right next to the rivers, and was captivating on a clear day with the mountain view. Would definitely recommend.

We just came from snowboarding trip and loved the stay at Two Rivers as usual. This is our third time staying there. On rainy/windy days we went for hill walks and a drive to Taupo. You can also chill out watching Amazon Prime and Netflix. The restaurants in Ohakune are lovely, but the jams they provide are so good. Two Rivers rooms are so clean and has everything you need including drying wardrobe. Spa is also excellent.
