Coming all the way from Denmark we enjoyed every second we stayed in the Manuka Lodge. The room was very clean and comfortable with a very good bed and the nicest bathroom you can wish for. Our breakfast was individually cooked based upon our wishes. Allan and Susie who run the B&B are extremely friendly and helpful. We felt at home all three days. Our best recommendations

A beautifully appointed BnB with absolutely lovely hosts that are happy to answer all questions about this beautiful part of the planet and make recommendations on what to see. Comfortable beds, lovely seating area, great breakfasts, laundry facilities available if needed, and they packed us an scrumptious lunch for our hike. Restaurants for dinner are a quick 10 minute walk away. Sometimes you come across people that love what they do and make you feel welcome enough to have them come to your place one day-this is it here.

My husband and I spent 2 nights in Ohakune in mid-September. Our travel agent made reservations for us at the Manuka Lodge. What a delightful experience! From the warm welcome, the lovely, bright common area with the roaring fire to the oversized and so comfortable king bed, we were hooked. The breakfast was amazing! Susie makes her own bread from a special recipe that she blends herself and the French Toast was unlike anything I have tried before, delicious! A plus is the lodge is an easy and beautiful walk into town. If we ever make it back to NZ I hope to visit the lodge again.

Really happy you enjoyed your stay and you liked the bread! It's amazing what you can do with a bread maker, because of Covid and lack of flour I had to experiment and so a new recipe was born. It's such a hit we continue with it to this day! Really appreciate the 5 stars thank you so much.

We made an impromptu trip to Ohakune, over Labour weekend and were very warmly received by Alan and Susie at the lodge. They are super-friendly and we had some lovely conversations over a home-cooked breakfast that I would describe as thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Thanks to their suggestions and advice, we could make the most of our short stay in Ohakune, with lovely bush walks in Ohakune and a trek upto the Taranaki waterfall through Tongariro bush and native grass; even getting an opportunity to go up Mount Ruapehu and watch the skiers in action on the last day of ski season! The room in the lodge was very comfortable and tastefully designed and it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into even the littlest details. The bathroom was modern and neat. We came back with some homemade honey, good memories and two new friends in Alan and Susie! Looking forward to visiting there again and we'd certainly recommend them to anyone looking to travel upto Ohakune. :-)…

We stayed two nights at Susie and Alan's lodge just at the foot of Mt. Ruapehu. This beautiful B&B, with nicely decorated rooms, each in its own style, is within foot distance to Ohakune town center. Our hosts provided us a warm welcome and had lots of good and useful tips for touring the area. Breakfast was great and guests are welcome to use the spacious living room and terrace. Thanks for having a perfect time on the south-western corner of the Tongariro National Park. Best regards Michaela, Gerd, Nick & Marc

Neat, clean, spacious and comfortable place to stay. We've had an excellent time - with Alan and Susie as great hosts - during new year period 2017/2018. Superb breakfast, stylish house and nice base from which you can do the must do Great Walk, the Tangoriro Alpine Crossing. Absolutely recommended!

At the base of the snow capped Mt. Ruapehu in the adjacent Tongariro National Park lies the charming Manuka Lodge. The crisp cool mountain air refreshed our spirits and invigorated us each day as we set out for the looming volcanos and dazzling waterfalls, signature sights of this stretch of New Zealand. Our hosts Alan and Susie provided exceptional lodging for our 3 day stay in the lovely mountain town of Ohakune. They are clearly invested in making sure that their guests have a PEAK experience in every regard! They are a great team and a delightful couple and excellent company. They provided a home base from which we could explore the entire region --- just heavenly!

The accommodation is excellent. Our room was very good, spacious, beautiful and well equipped. An excellent breakfast is served, making a good start of your explorations of the day. All this is topped off by the friendliness and warmth of the hosts. Next to their knowledge about the area and tips on activities to get the most out of your stay. They display a sincere interest in your venture of the day, often leading to long talks. You get a feeling of home away from home, or meeting old friends while in fact you just met, which is well appreciated.
