Neat, clean, spacious and comfortable place to stay. We've had an excellent time - with Alan and Susie as great hosts - during new year period 2017/2018. Superb breakfast, stylish house and nice base from which you can do the must do Great Walk, the Tangoriro Alpine Crossing.

At the base of the snow capped Mt. Ruapehu in the adjacent Tongariro National Park lies the charming Manuka Lodge. The crisp cool mountain air refreshed our spirits and invigorated us each day as we set out for the looming volcanos and dazzling waterfalls, signature sights of

We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed it :) the breakfasts are yummy, the room was lovely, clean and large and the hosts are really friendly. We couldn't fault it, we just wish the weather was not so cloudy so we could see the mountain ;)

Beautiful and comfortable lodge. Ultra-friendly (but not overzealous) hosts with enormous amounts of local knowledge and happy to share recommendations and ideas. Hosts stayed in contact during a snowstorm when we couldn't make it to the town for one of the nights of our stay.

Hi there, Thank you for your enquiry. We're located on the edge of the town of Ohakune. It's just under ten minutes walk to the bars and restaurants in the centre of town. Having no car is no problem at all. The nearest ski field is Turoa, about 25 minutes drive - the town is the closest place to the ski area you can stay. There are shuttles that run from Ohakune every 30 minutes. They'll pick up from the lodge and they charge $28 per person return. We'll happily pick you up and drop you off at either the train station or bus stop as required. Our full table of rates, together with secure booking facility, is available on our website. Kind regards, Alan Hancorn Owner Manuka Lodge

"Any one of the rooms would be fine."
"The room is spacious enough to have 3 people sleep comfortably."
"We had an upstairs double that overlooked the front of the house."
"We stayed in the downstairs room, corner location-VERY small and shower is open soaking the whole bathroom"
"The rooms are all excellent. We chose a king bed but there are other choices. While we stayed in a large room downstairs, the upstairs rooms would have a view. Other rooms have a view over the adjacent paddocks."
