A single night stay on the way to some cycling adventures. Overall I'd describe Ossie's as cheap and cheerful. Compact living area and up the noisy stairs is a sleeping area that has less room than appears due to the slope of the ceiling. But great value for money.

On a rainy day we enjoyed the warm welcome at a fully equiped, cosy chalet. We arrived quite late and found a bottle of milk in the fridge and a warm welcome letter. It's very quiet, clean and charming. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. The chalet is very spacious and a lovely terras.

Travelling from Auckland to Wellington via Waiouru this is a good stopover place. The chalets are basic with the beds up a steep, highly polished wooden stairway. Be extra careful and wear shoes with a good grip as slipping is very easy, as I found out! Not sure how cosy they would be in the winter though.

Not palatial, but all you need for a short ski holiday. Stayed 2 nights with 1 adult and 3 kids, while skiing, in a 2 bedroom chalet. Great drying room within your chalet for ski gear. Heat pump able to heat the area. Creaky stairs that are steep so I wouldn’t stay here with young children, but overall for a budget stay where you are hoping to be out skiing Ossie’s is perfect.

Nice little chalet with everything you need. Key was left out for us and heater was on which was lovely. Long time since we had slept in a double bed so hubby bailed to a bunk bed. Quite creaky stairs so with all bwda upstairs in one room night time trips to the toilet downstairs were disturbing for others.

This was definitely one of my most memorable lodging experiences in years of world travel. For the price the unit was absolutely huge with two stories, two bedrooms, kitchen, large fridge and stove. Cleanliness was impeccable. Outside the back of my cabin there is a stream running through well maintained greenery. The Wifi worked well with no interruptions. There is a laundry room which is completely free for guest usage! The owners respond very quickly to emails as well as phone calls and have a wealth of information regarding outdoors activities in the area. I am looking forward to visiting once again on a future trip to New Zealand!

We called midday to let the staff know we would be arriving late and we told cheerfully that it wouldn't be a problem at all. They left a key for us, but still came out of their own apartment when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. We only had three people staying in our chalet, but it could have easily accommodated more so long as everyone liked everyone else!

Warm, friendly owner as you check in. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment which was very spacious with a double bed, 2 single beds and bunkbeds on the upstairs level. Downstairs had a comfortable lounge area with tv and a fully equipped kitchen with a bathroom and shower. Everything you need! The place offers free wifi and free laundry as well as a outdoor BBQ. We used it as a base for the Tongariro Crossing which is around 40 minutes away. Would highly recommend!

We stayed for one night for a day ski trip to Mt Ruapehu. Staff were excellent and very friendly, helpful. The accommodation is old and quaint chalet style - everything worked and we were nice and warm which was a plus. They can also help you out with ski gear hire if you need.
