Room in need of maintenance: dirty paint on the walls, bathroom door that does not open properly due to humidity, gel dispenser extremely hard and almost exhausted (it ran out during the shower).
Very hard pillows. I don't know how many customers have complained about the same problem, the poor comfort of the pillows, perhaps the smartest thing would be to change them.
In the duvet bed without a sheet, I doubt that they change and wash the cover after each client leaves, which seems like a lack of hygiene to me.
Fair breakfast (any other option would not be superfluous), bad coffee, but more than acceptable pastries. Fortunately we found a good waiter, one of those who makes things easier for you.
Separate comment for the parking lot. We wanted to leave the car inside, but since it was snowing they told us that if the snow froze, which would be normal, we wouldn't be able to get the car out. Throwing specific salt would avoid this problem for customers.

This hotel is mainly powered by the company where I work. Until recently, with the diet that the company paid me, I could get a room, this year when I reserve they tell me that the diet is no longer covered and that the room is €60 without breakfast, I reserve the room.
Once there, I meet a few other colleagues, who booked a week later than me, and the price for them is €50 (same professional category as me). I asked to speak with the director and he told me that the price was depending on the hotel's demand, come on, what they are interested in is having workers from "my company" who have a higher category and more diet (which the hotel covers for them)... unless the date is closer and... they lower the price, but if you booked before... you're screwed. With that policy... we are going badly.
Otherwise everything was correct, the room, the attention of the staff, the cleanliness. But they have lost me as a customer.

It's a shame we spent so little time at this hotel but we won't hesitate to return if we find ourselves in the area.

Room was big and clean.
Receptions staff was not friendly, however far of being rude.
The breakfast options is a little limited for a 4 stars hotel, but food has quality.
Free car parking in the street was possible and easy.
In a nutshell: If you go by car, it can be a good option to Avila, otherwise I don't recommend. A 4 stars hotel, but not on a higger level.
Overall the structure is clean, but with 80s furnishings.
Our room was large with a bathroom equipped with essential comforts.
The breakfast does not shine in quality and quantity.
Very self-contained staff.

The rooms are nicely set up with a sitting room area with TV, minibar, drinks or magazine table and desk. The bedroom is past a wide doorway, with the ensuite bathroom set further inside. The furniture is comfortable and the beds are firm.
The restaurant-cafeteria provides efficient service in clean surroundings. The menu is typical mid-range Spanish hotel fare and is served without frills. Basic but good value. The staff, as in the hotel proper, is friendly and try to be helpful.
Now to the less than wonderful.
The bathroom is a bit cramped in contrast to the sitting and sleeping areas. The shower unit is modern and complicated. It can do so many things such as shower from above, from the sides, almost all around, and the water jets can be adjusted from icy to scalding. But the downside is that the instructions are very basic and ONLY in Spanish and English. If you cannot understand the nuances of these languages you might have a terrible experience.
The air conditioning cools the sitting area only. And only partially. Even there we could not get the temperature down below 26 C. The bedroom we were assigned has no cooling system other than what seeps in through the doorway or the windows. As we were on the ground floor we were a bit worried about security if we left the windows open.
The wifi system works in a very patchy way. It was fine during checking in time and in the middle of the night (when everyone else was asleep). Otherwise it was (expletive deleted).
Another problem was the room safe. The hotel insists that it is not responsible for valuables that might be stolen and that it was in the guests´ best interest to lock them away in the safe. But the safe is set low down in the wardrobe and instructions are in tiny print. Even though I got on my knees to read them, I had to give up and keep my valuables with me. (This is a design fault, and is common to many hotels).
We were not aware of the parking possibility in the basement as the website we used (Booking dot com) made no mention of it, so we parked in the street and rolled our bags in and out. No problem. For those more determined than us, there is a "parking type area" on the grassy strip opposite the hotel´s entrance: but the kerb is 15 cms high, so some cars will have a problem.
But did we enjoy our stay? Yes we did.
Would we return? Emphatically (now we are armed with information).
And is it worth the money? Without question.
"Ask for a bedroom (not just a room) with efficient air conditioning. Request good wifi signal."Read full review
"Our room was on floor 2 and was overlooking to walkway to the bar & restaurant, it was quiet and we had a good nights sleep. Unfortunately as ex-smokers we did not like the smell of smoking in the rooms."Read full review
