Perfect location in the city center, right on the city wall. Room and bathroom relatively large, also here tub with shower, extensive breakfast offer, equally recommended restaurant with moderate prices for a high quality of food and drinks I can recommend. Disadvantage of our travel time, however, was the location directly at the road construction site, which brought considerable noise from 08:00 to 17:00. In addition, it is worth arriving early before 14:00 to get a parking space, better to Booking Referral one of the few underground parking spaces in time.

We made a 10 paradors trip through Spain in October and stayed here for 2 nights in a standard room. We paid 104€/night with a 5-night parador voucher (normally 143€) including buffet breakfast and taxes for 2 people.

Compact parador within the old town centre, former Renaissance castle of the Marquis from the 16th century and adjacent to the old city wall. The renovated 2-storey building has +-50 large rooms, an elevator and a large beautiful garden. It is a maze of corridors and stairs where you have to find your way. Free parking within the domain (while stocks last) or reserveable garage parking at 14€/day.

Our standard room 122 was very spacious (50m2) , tidy and comfortable with beautiful tiled floor. Large bathroom with large quality towels. Not all rooms are the same size I noticed on the map.

The multiple salons, bar and terrace in the garden are pleasant to sit with a welcome drink. Buffet breakfast was fine and at parador level: linen tablecloth and linen napkins, coffee/tea served at the table, hot dishes taken at the table and brought to the table.

The old town is a few minutes walk away.

It is the third time we stayed at the Ávila stop for different reasons: the excellent location, the pleasant atmosphere created by all hotel employees (receptionists, waiters...) and the decoration and building in which the stopper is located. The first two times we were in a suite and the latter in a superior double room. We always look for hotels with history and this particular stop has a very good value for money.

The attention of the receptionist named Fei was one of the best we have had of all the inns I have been visiting. He treated us very well and very professionally, he kindly told us where we could have dinner at the same inn and in case we wanted other options. He also provided us with the activities or visits that we could do the next day, providing us with a map of the city and where to go to enjoy the city. In short, congratulations on having this Fei person on your reception team.
It should be mentioned that the other receptionists who have assisted us in the different cases of requesting their help have left a lot, no, a lot to be desired. It seems like you owe them your life, the antipathy they show on their faces when you approach them to request or talk to them is impressive, they don't even hide it.
In the case of departure from the room, which was on February 10 at 12:00 p.m. The attention of the two receptionists who were there was terrible in terms of the lack of welcome and kindness. We asked what bus lines or other ways to get to the station and they did not want to help us. They told us to look on Google maps and instead take a taxi where they told us that they would charge us approximately €10 when later we found out that there was a bus stop, which cost us €1 per person, next to the parador where It took us in less than 10 minutes. In summary again, lack of professionalism on the part of these two people who did not have the desire or the attitude to serve clients well that we had no idea about.

Excellent location just inside the town walls. In fact if you do the walk of the medieval walls you walk right by the parador and can look into the garden (the rooms remain private though). Our room was large and comfortable. Minor niggle was the renovation of a small side street and the workmen starting up quite early in the morning.
Food good and as a veggie I managed to work my way around the menu although personally the bar menu was easier to follow.
Staff were good but I did wonder whether several were new in the bar/restaurant area as a couple of times parts of our order were forgotten and needed a reminder. Puts me on edge when this happens.
If you are driving then the underground car park will be an experience in itself!
And one more point that really applies to all hotel stays - make sure you sign for and KEEP all receipts (cuenta) and check your total bill at checkout. Mistakes do happen!

What I liked the most was the room and the outside gardens. In general, I think it is a bit in need of remodeling and you can see some neglected details in the carpets, etc.
The entrance with stairs makes it difficult to carry suitcases etc.
The elevator is very narrow and out of hand. The service in the cafeteria we tried was excellent. The staff at reception were quite friendly. The breakfast was very good, I like that there is an adequate dividing wall and I think the fresh fruit offering was very good, including papayas.

Cozy, exquisite breakfast and excellent location.
The beds are very comfortable and many of the workers are very pleasant and attentive.
The only thing I would change would be the bathrooms in the rooms, since they had very old facilities, compared to other inns we have been to, expand the parking lot since it was very difficult to park around it, and improve the attention of some workers at the hotel. bar.

A beautiful and very good inn located within the walls of Ávila. Excellent service and quality, both in the building, rooms, and the restaurant and its product (especially black Iberian Avilanian beef/chop). It's a shame that, in certain seasons, they have the air conditioning/heat pump in the rooms deactivated. We don't need it, but if we had, they will leave you heaters. On the other hand, generally in all the paradors, the wine list has changed to poor and excessively expensive. Very very average wines (regular to bad) at reserve wine prices. Let's see if this changes soon because it raises the prices of the menus enormously and eating with a bad/average wine can make a meal bitter. Nor is it a question of placing reserves at such brutally exaggerated prices as we have seen on occasion.

The Parador de Avila is located in an old, period building, decorated according to the centuries it represents. For me that is a great value. And unfortunately it is being lost, preferring to decorate in the “modern style” to avoid being branded as “casposos”, “carcas” or any other of those epithets that the understanding masses usually use to show their aesthetic and moral superiority.
Having said that, I must congratulate the Parador for maintaining its “carca” line of decoration, its privileged location and the friendliness of its staff as distinctive signs.
We didn't have time to explore the entire Parador, but we really liked what we saw, as well as its cafeteria, where we had the pleasure of having a few glasses of wine, a sandwich and a hamburger and some mixed drinks, all very good. quality and workmanship. A little expensive, yes, but it is to be expected.
We did not visit the restaurant.
In short, a highly recommended Parador in a city that you have to visit no matter what.

A beautiful hotel located in a palace within the historical walled city of Avila. Our family of three was very comfortable in the large room and enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. Within walking distance of the sights in Avila and many restaurants and shops. A great stay.

I was there in October. There was almost down to 2 C during the nights. I guess nights are not very warm even in summer, due to the high over sea level.

Parking was hit or miss. The hotel had an underground garage that cost and they discouraged using. We never even entered it. There was some free parking in a couple of courtyards at the hotel. We managed to find spots in those most of the time. For short periods, there was metered parking across the street.
