Avila's walls are a UNESCO world heritage site and the lovely Parador is perfectly located just within them, in the heart of the old town. It is in an historic building set in beautiful gardens, and has a wonderful restaurant and bar.

My favourite Parador: Beautiful palace right on the city wall.This time, we had a superior room onto the garden. Worth the extra money, since most other rooms are on a noisy road. Good food and lovely comunal area with fire place.

Nice stay in historical Parador, interesting city. We will return to Avila and to the Parador.We spent about 3 hour walking in the Muralla and have an excellent dinner at restaurant Las Candelas. St. Tomas el Real is worth a visit-
