Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For a budget motel this is great value: airport pick up, serviced apartment, great bathroom, breakfast! While the beach does not quite match any brochure it is ok and affords a view of the reef, ships and diggers. The motel is close ish to other restaurants and the town, the bed is comfortable and there is aircon (basic). Some lights are a bit odd. People are friendly and helpful.

I stayed at Rino’s in August, 2019. I paid one night’s reservation beforehand. At Rino’s I paid an additional $431.20. Months later, I checked my records. I had overpaid $238.83. I contacted Rino’s and provided the documentation. Jenny confirmed the overpayment and said my card would be reimbursed. It wasn’t. I have multiple emails from Rino’s promising repayment but none was ever made. Rino’s then began to ignore my requests for a status/reimbursement. When I finally sent an email, after over a month of being ignored, that I would review Rino’s, I received a prompt response from Jenny that I would be reimbursed and could I wait two weeks. I agreed. Well, its been well over two weeks with no refund and my emails are again being ignored. In addition, a woman I met on the flight over had been promised a room with an ocean view. She was given a dreary room with no view. Instead of reducing her bill for the lesser room, all they would do was give her a “free” day of scooter rental. The place itself was outdated and mediocre at best. The deck furniture had a wasp’s nest and I was stung twice before I found it and had it sprayed.

From the moment we got off the plane and were greeted by Nga with gorgeous, fragrant flower lei we knew we were somewhere special. By staying at Rino's, a mid range water front motel with rental scooter/car facilities we got far more than we expected from our visit to Aitutaki. Rino's far exceeded our expectations. The staff are just amazingly warm and welcoming people, more than happy to cater to our needs, interests and changes we had to make to our initial plan. They are an endless pit of island information, humor and love, and really helped make our stay. The room service was wonderful and thorough without being intrusive and the breakfast were TO DIE FOR! I can truely say I have been ruined for any otherl types of fresh juice after having the wonderful fresh full flavoured offering with our breakfast every morning! Unfortunately we didnt get to meet Rino, after being told so many good things about him and his knowledge, but we missed out on nothing - all the other women (and odd men lol) of Rino's told us everything we needed to know. I am already planning a return trip and cant imagine considering anywhere else to stay but Rino's.

Had a fantastic stay here for 5nights with my wife and our 2 young daughters (4 & 6yo). The Bungalows are clean and fresh. Just what we needed. Close to everything, takeaways, food stores all in walking distance. Perfect place for families with children, as the beach there is safe. The staff are awesome and make a mean tropical breakfast. Rino’s have rental vehicles as well. But get in early to book one

We had such a wonderful vacation! Rino’s was just perfect! The location is amazing and the newly renovated cottage was spotless. The bed was very comfortable, the room very spacious and the bathroom clean and modern. We had hot water 24 hours a day. The sunsets were just crazy beautiful from the terrace. We also rented bikes and a scooter from Papa Rino - he’s the sweetest person you’ll ever meet. He personally picked us up and dropped us off at the airport (at 87!). The breakfast is good with lots of tropical fruits. Last but not least, if you’d like to kiteboard (or learn), get in touch with Mike Lee (Kiteboard Aitutaki). Welcome to Paradise! We’ll surely come back!

Me and a friend were picked up by Rino himself from the airport. We had our hire car there ready for use and were greeted kindly by him and Jennifer (the lady who cooks brekky each day). The brekfast was ready for both of us and OMG it was amazing! Fresh fruits and good coffee. We were there both shown our room that leads out to the beach, and it exceeded our expectations, especially for the price. It's very affordable. We enjoyed our stay because the staff were so welcoming, I have no idea why there a 3 bad reviews when we couldn't find any fault in the accomdation, as well as other guests who were staying there. Thank you papa rino and staff for everything! We will be back Love always Rosa and ofo

Bungalows with ample space, comfortable beds, everything a bit worn out, but will get refurbished soon. Nice view to the shore and sea from two of the bungalows. Good breakfast, nice landlord. Car rental at the facility possible. No corals and only a few fish to be seen in the lagoon du to climate change

For a fraction of the price of the smart resorts on Aitutaki you can have your own beachfront studio apartment. It’s clean, comfortable and has aircon! A real treat on these small islands. Facing the lagoon and the spectacular sunsets, my private decking had a day bed and table and chairs. Yes the bathroom is a bit tired but Papa Rino was undertaking renovations while I was there. There are cheaper garden rooms but, seriously, book early and get a beachfront one! Papa Rino is a bit of an institution - I believe he’s in his 80s and still reads the paper without glasses. He also runs a car/scooter hire place (you need a minimum 125cc licence to hire a scooter in the Cook Islands - not the automatic 50cc that normally comes with UK licences). Lovely breakfast - fresh fruit, cereals & fresh pancakes! They’ll help you organise diving or snorkelling trips (I can recommend Teking’s snorkelling safari). It is a blue sky hot spot so if you bought a voucher in Rarotonga it will work here too. For self caterers there is just one supermarket (neiba) open on a Sunday. Most of the small local restaurants close...apparently I’m told the resort hotel restaurants are open (but they’re well out of my budget), the boat shed and Koru cafe - beyond the airport (a good scooter ride from Rino’s) are also open. On Sunday I suggest you go to CICC church at 10 (especially if you’re there the 1st Sunday of the month when everyone wears white) to listen to the amazing singing (services last 2hrs or so - I sat at the back and snuck out during a hymn after an hour or so). Make sure you check the weather forecast for a sunny day before booking your trip out onto the lagoon. Rightly thought of as one of the most spectacular lagoons in the Pacific, you need the sun to show of those incredible water colours! Love love loved it!

i stayed in the garden view room for 3 nights and this is one of the most affordable rooms on the island. the kitchen and bathroom were fantastic with cooking amenities. the room had 2 fans and a clothes horse to dry towels and bathers. my rate included airport pickup/dropoff and breakfast. breakfast was delicious. wifi was blue sky and a good connection. i was able to hire a bike from next door and bronwyn helped me confirm my tour pickup times by phoning. beach wasnt great but go have a cocktail at one of the nearby resorts and swim there. would recommend

Aitutaki is all about slowing down to island time. Papa Rino picked us up at the airport on a Sunday and we soon realised there’s not much to do as everyone has the day off. Rino’s is an ideal motel style option, with large rooms overlooking the beach. We rented scooters from Papa Rino which were perfect for getting around. It’s not luxe, but it’s clean and functional and well located and the folk are friendly and helpful. Great sunsets just outside and amazing stars on a clear night.
