Beautiful view of the lagoon from #112 bungalow . The walk from restaurant to bungalow via beach access at night was a little hard to navigate...bring a flashlight. Bungalow was serviced everyday, esppresso pods ,tea and condiments and water refilled as the water from the tap is not suitable to drink. The coffee cups were too small for us.. and we went through the coffee fast.Compimentary breakfast served everyday. The Lagoon was spectacular very much like being in a aquarium and the water was crystal clear and wonderful. The staff were amazing! The only noise you'll hear is the roosters and chicken and the waves hitting the reef.

Four nights here was so good for the soul.
The included pick up at the airport was smooth and greeted with flower lais. Arived 6 mins later at the accomodation and check in was smooth with a welcome juice. Rooms were ready for us even tho it was 11 am and check in is 2pm
Our room was big and airy with californian King bed and single bed bought into the lounge area for 3rd person. Bathroom was big and well apointed and opened up to the outdoor shower which was great for getting snad and sunscreen off before heading inside. The balcony off the lounge area was also spacious with a king single sized outdoor day bed and table and chairs
All units have a sea view and the beach front ones are primo spots but cost more I believe. We were the furtherest from the beach in room 206 but still had a sea view
There are two pools (one family friendly and one adults only) but we did not use either as the beach was so inviting and clean with free kayaks and paddle bords to use.
The restaurant is open air and inviting and there is breakfast buffet available as well as cooked breakdfast off the menu all included in room price. The island cultural night with impressive all you can eat buffet and dancing and fire show is worth the $75 per person.
The staff at reception are quick and knowlegdeable and happy to book anything for you and also there is a bar right in reception with a happy hour and happy to take walk ins that are not guests.
We took a couple of complementay bikes and cycled to the nearest shop for supplies and discovered the local takeaway place that does good pizzas and meat wraps if you do not wnat to dine in the resort restuarant each night it is a good budget option.
This place is family run and it shows. You will see them around each day always ready to chat or give you a wave.
Only thing missing was a few more loungers required on the beach as everyone wanted to be there, but my kids were happy to lie in the warm sand too.
Cannot reccomend this accomodation highly enough. We will be back and stay longer next time

We stayed in a 1 Bedroom Beachfront (Room 202) which was awesome - there are only 3x 1 Bedroom Beachfront Villas that are definitely worth the extra cost from the Lagoonview or Studio/Garden villas. We had a few hours of rain one day and it was great being able to sit on our sheltered patio with an incredible beach/lagoon view.

Room had everything you needed - fridge, hairdryer, umbrellas, coffee pod machine and the standard AC + ceiling fans and a huge bathroom.

SUPs, kayaks & bikes are all provided free of charge. It’s a short 10 minute bike ride into town with cafes and stores located along the way.

Restaurant was good for breakfast and lunch but the dinner options were not the best and we weren’t advised we needed to book a table so we opted to eat at Pacific Resort most nights which is a 5 minute walk along the beach or $10pp return taxi if weather isn’t too good.

All staff were super friendly and helpful!

Tamanu is in the best location I feel - the beach is immaculate with great all day swimming/snorkelling conditions and there was never really any wind.

Pacific Resort Aitutaki is a nicer resort in terms of pool/restaurant/bar/facilities but you couldn’t snorkel there as they get all day wind being located on the point

The hotel is OK but could do with a tidy up. Our villa was clean and well equiped but the toilet seat was broken. You have a sort of paddle that indicates whether you need towels changed and no room makeup. We got it wrong one day only to find our bed not made up. This was not pointed out to us by reception when we arrived.
The Adults only section only applies to the villas to the left of the restaurant , the restaurant and other facilities are open to families. So it is not an Adult only resort as indicated.
Restaurant was fine with a jolly good breakfast.
Good location as only 10 minutes from Airport.

While on Aitutaki, we stayed at 3 place and Tamanu Beach was the best and it wasn’t even the most expensive. We paid $650 NZD per night. I think we were in #110 and were 3 or 4 units back from the beach. The units are arranged so you still see the water. The rooms are in island decor and a good size. The resort is nicely designed. The restaurant is very good and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I always found the bar to be selling. At dinner, I had one of the best deserts: ice cream, sorbet, fresh fruit and spun sugar. Breakfast is included and you order from the breakfast menu but they’ll mostly make what you want. We attended “Island Night” and “Sunset BBQ” enjoying the dancing and music performances as well as the food. I liked trying the local vegetables. The bikes are best we rode and well maintained. These bikes are easiest transportation and the island is flat so biking was NOT to taxing. Nice staff. Summer at the front desk was very helpful.

What an outstanding resort. Tamanu was everything and more that we were expecting. From the airport pick up to the airport drop off again 3 days later everything was simply suburb. All the staff we encounted during our stay were fantastic, the meals at the restaurant were some of the best we've had anywhere in our travels, and the prices were very comparable with other similar establishments. The lagoon beaches were stunning and the location perfect for just relaxing either by the pools or on the beach. Having pushbikes (free) and scooters for hire was a great surprise especially with the main area of town being a little way from the resort. Nick (GM) and his team have done an awesome job ensuring all guests are looked after during their stay. We will be back, that is gauranteed!
Just a note to those that think this is an adult only resort: no it isn't. There are two sides to the resort, the bungalows are adults only and the rest are family units. Check before you book if you want to stay at the adults only side.

This resort goes the extra mile! Nick Henry and his team are the most welcoming and professional crew, perfect for managing our large group. From the moment you wake to the delicious included breakfast, the snorkelling and activities right out the front, the cultural dancing show, and immaculate rooms, this location ticked all our boxes!
Thank you for the amazing beach bonfire dinner with our feet in the sand!

We ran a few marine science workshops here - a fantastic venue. Staff were helpful and friendly at all times. The rooms are remarkable, spacious with a real attention to detail, the most remarkable being the outdoor shower, great after an early morning snorkel. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice and the evening meals varied and delicious. What a wonderful hotel, I hope I have the chance to visit again.

Tamaru Beach is on the picture-perfect island of Aitutaki in the Cook Islands. We were in the Adults-only section where there were about 12 units. This area has its own pool that needs a little work but is wonderful to cool off. The villas are a good size with an outdoor shower as well as a large indoor shower and small WIR that has space for a fridge coffee machine and safe. The villas are well set out and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed 6 nights and wished we had stayed longer, a truly beautiful island and this is a great place to stay. Also, quite a bit of history with the family that owns the resort.

The perfect end to a holiday is that you never want to leave. Tamanu Beach Resort exceeded all my expectations, I knew I would enjoy being here but I am not ready to go home. The staff are so welcoming and look after you so well. Kathleen at reception always had a Kia Orana and a smile and ensured we had everything we needed for a fabulous stay. Our Lagoonview bungalow but just right with its amenities and location. The Pacifica pina colada body wash is divine. (Room 110) The ladies who kept our rooms clean and tidy always have a smile. The lagoon is great for a swim and the infinity pool was well used. The staff in the restaurant cant do enough for you and the menu choices cater to all tastes. You have to make time for the Tamanu Day Spa. Dorothy has magic hands. I had a facial and two days later the Body Manava massage, WOW. If I had more time I would go every day. Theu also sell the Pure Fiji range. For a perfect South Pacific holiday, you have to choose Tamanu Beach Resort. I highly recommend and you wont be disappointed.

When we stayed at Tamanu Beach, there was no construction noise at all or we did not hear it. We were there in June/July. Oh we had such a blast - we want to go back again in 2024. Tamanu is back on our travel list!

Yep, great snorkelling off the beach. About 50m out is great in and around the outcrops. About 150m offshore (still only 1.5m deep) is some giant clams.

We do have a bar on site...presently we do not beach side service but this can be requested of our restaurant staff. Simply come to the bar make your order let them know where you are on the beach and they can call by every 15mins or so to check . Meitaki atupaka, Nick
