These cabins are just beautiful! The view to the sea is amazing, you will want to be at home every day just to watch the sunset from there. All the place is super clean, the cabins are well equipped with everything you need and the decoration is amazing.
The couple running these beautiful cabins is great, super kind, they make you feel at home.
The location is very good, close to Haapiti surf spot. Right in front of the cabins there’s an area where you can swim with rays and sharks. Is possible to rent canoes and paddle boards there. You can also go on a tour with them on their own boat, to the most famous spot in the island to see rays, sharks and turtles. The way there is also beautiful, we recommend to take the tour with them.

We're posting this late, as time has gotten away from us! However, we have NOT forgotten how incredible this trip was. This was our first time visiting Tahiti/Moorea and we didn't have a clue as to where to stay. My husband wanted a good surf break and I wanted a beautiful beach with clear water. We didn't want the touristy, expensive, resort experience. We were looking for something more remote. That being said, we booked a car rental, our first 2 nights at Fare D'Hote Tehuarupe Hotel, and the remainder of our trip at a place near the Sofitel beach (supposedly the best beach on the island?-not to us). As it turns out, we did not want to leave Fare D'Hote Tehuarupe. We hesitantly checked out and ventured to our next spot-immediately upon our arrival we knew it was not the place for us. The location, as well as the accommodations (and extremely rude owner) were not at all what had been portrayed online. We decided to lose the money on our booking there and return to Tehuarupe Hotel. To us, this was a 'once in a lifetime" trip and although, we couldn't afford to lose the money, the experience, what suited us, and our memories, were far more important! That being said- we returned to Tehuarupe Hotel and stayed the rest of our trip (thankfully they still had our bungalow available:). We were so happy to return and wished we could have stayed permanently! The owners, Elda and Charlie, were so sweet and accommodating...and we loved their weiner dogs. It felt very comfortable and homey to us...The bungalows were beautiful, clean and with kitchens-which came in handy and allowed us to shop at the market and make our own meals. The access to the ocean is a short walk across the road-which didn't bother us in the least. We used the kayaks every day to cruise around and snorkel, fish, and paddle out to the surf break. I can't say enough positive things about our experience there...Tahiti had been a long-time dream of ours and we won't forget it. Now we just need to figure out how we can go back!

I stayed here for two weeks and rented two bungalows. Fare Tehuarupe is clean and insect free. The bungalows sit up 50 ft on the hillside and have a 180 degree view of the beautiful turquoise lagoon. Charles and Elda are the perfect hosts. If you surf, Elda can arrange boat rides with Gael. A great Tahitian waterman.

Sorry to say I think I have never written a bad review, but since I booked based on positive reviews from this site, I felt the need to put out there our experience. We were on our honeymoon. We thought the rooms were nice with a lot of hard wood. Biggest problem was that owner operator was borderline rude. Maybe because we did not spend money booking events through her, but regardless the reason she was out of line an inappropriate. Location is on the road and can be Lou when traffic drives by. No wifi in the room only in common area. No AC, very very hot. Didn't have electrical or conversion device for American devices and refused to let us charge with USB to her one computer for fear of virus. On our check out it was raining and we were on a scooter so w asked for a later checkout. She said 10 am was the very latest even though no guests were staying at the hotel or arriving. Although even 15 minutes would have allowed us to move our bags to the other hotel without getting soaking wet, she was very rude. There are probably a few other things worth mentioning, but in summary I would say that we found other accommodations on moorea for same price that were better and would advise others to do the same. Had she not been so rude, I never would have taken the time to write a first ever negative review.

Likes: big room, nice view, and the bikes were in better condition than other hotels.

Dislikes: Owner was rude, we could here the traffic passing all night, owners 6 dogs seemed to be roaming freely round the area, no wifi in room only near pool side, tv didn't work, and super HOT no a/c only one fan opening the windows and sleeping half naked didn't help how horribly hot it was in the room.

The reason why I said that the owner was rude is because she kept trying to get us to book events thru her when we repeatedly told her that we already had plans she seemed very annoyed with that. Also, she basically locked my husband out of the gate knowing he left to go to the store fortunately for him I heard him tooting the bike horn and had to ask her to open the gate (we didn't know there was a curfew at 8pm). Last thing that really got me upset, during our check out at 10am it started to rain hard I asked the owner if we could check out a little later since we had rented a scooter and she instantly said NO even though the place was completely empty. My husband had to drive back and forth to our next hotel (Linavera Resort much better place) with all of our luggage in the rain. Even 20 minutes would have helped. I hate to make racist remarks but I felt she had an issue with me being Hawaiian/Black and my husband being White/Caucasian but I'm no judge you decide.

I have just returned from Moorea with my husband. We had 4 nights at Tehuarupe. We had organised for Alda to meet us off the ferry from Papeete. We did a shop at the supermarket as I knew we had cooking facilities.
The bungalow was one of four - each are very comfortable and extremely clean. Everything is supplied - all bunglows have a lovely deck and we were lucky enough to see the whales off the reef one morning.
We were able to use the bikes and the kayaks and Alda organised for us to go out to the reef one day to swim with the sharks and stingrays. Each morning we would walk or bike to the local store for fresh bread.
This was our first visit to Moorea - we did not have a car but found that we didn't need one as long as you bring in your main groceries. We loved the fresh water pool and were more than happy to enjoy everything this Pension provides.
Alda is a wonderful host and is only too happy to do all possible to make sure you have a memorable happy stay.
I would highly recommend Tehuarupe.

I spent 7 days, last week of July, at the Fare Teruahupe at Haapiti on Moorea and it was truly great. It is on the really quiet side of Moorea only 20 minutes drive from the ferry terminal. Elda and her husband were really nice and I felt welcome immediately. Elda brought me a bottle of water and there was a bottle of wine for me in the fridge also. She enquired if I needed anything and gave me tips about local snacks or places to go.
There are two pairs of pretty bungalows; one is literally by the pool but mine was just 10 meters away so they are all identical. The infinite pool looking over the lagoon is really sweet especially to contemplate the sunsets or just read a book quietly in the late afternoon.
There are two local grocery shops at a 4 minutes walk in each direction so you can buy really basic things. There are bikes to borrow if you want to use them but my favorite was just taking the canoes and going snorkeling by the reef in the lagoon just facing the Fare across the road. There is a true big supermarket near the Ferry terminal if you need to buy more things.
Room is large and confortable with a bar/kitchenette with all the necessary appliances to cook (there is even a microwave) although you have food trucks near by at night and a couple of tahitian snacks that serve simple good local fish. One large bed and one couch that can be used as a second bed so I would guess you could squeeze in 4 people. Clean bathroom. Nice balcony with a view of the lagoon and a table to chill there too. Mosquitoes are not a big concern at this time of the year and the weather was good with one day of rain (the last day). No need for alarm clocks the local poultry will take care of that for you.
If you want to relax far from the chaos of “civilized life” this is the place where to go. Moorea is really small so from there it is easy to go around the island for hiking or snorkeling at other beaches like Temae or Les Tipaniers. I recommend renting a car of course. It was perfect and really relaxing and quiet. Exactly what I needed.
I will come back.
Thanks Elda.

Rather isolated for a solo person, but bikes available. Long way to nearest restaurants. Very basic food shops one kilometre away. Lovely view of coast from above on hill. Big room. CNN available on TV. No beach, but water access. Could hear everything in adjoining room.

We booked for the last 2 nights of our trip and ended up staying an extra month! Amazing value for money, modern and tastefully furnished, clean & close to a consistent left hand reef break in Ha'apiti, kayak use included in price which saves on overpriced boat transfers from surf accomodations in the area - which are too far to paddle from and aren't on the water, 5 min paddle to the wave and you can moor your Kayak in the channel. Lovely hosts and private villa style accomodation with fully equipped kitchens. We absolutely fell in love with the place, our favorite accomodation in French Polynesia by a mile, we looked at all of the options in the area in person prior to booking and this one really stood out.

We've just spent 3 nights at Fare D'Hote Tehuarupe and absolutely enjoyed it. It was the perfect place for us to stay. We called the accommodation in the morning and arrived in the afternoon, on very short notice... Our 3 year old daughter spent hours in the warm pool... the whole place has an amazing view over the ocean and you can see whales and daulphins swim by from your balcony if you look carefully. One morning we saw daulphins closeby, so we quickly jumped into the canooe (which are provided for free) and paddled out. The experience was amazing, I got never so close to daulphins, I could hear them breathe. There is also a variety of biked available at no charge that you can use to cycle the short distance to the next shop.
The host Elda goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable, she even washed our laundry, hung up our clothes, and returned them folded at no charge. She gave us fruits from her garden and free drinking water that lasted the whole stay. The kitchen is well equipped, we cooked every night. We couldn't have asked for more. It's probably the place on Moorea with the best value for money. I also called her directly to make a booking which turned out to be cheaper than booking through an agency. Would highly recommend to stay there.

Ia ora na, they have 2 grocery stores each side to the pension, and you can cooke inside the bungalow. Just cross the road, you can use the kayaks for free. I can't tell you, it's a beach, acces to the beach.

A bientôt,

C'est possible d'y fêter un anniversaire, si vous prenez les 4 bungalows. Faire du bruit, chahuté, de la musique, volume raisonnable oui.
