Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a beautiful, literally just opened (only 4 weeks at the time of our stay) hotel. With literally no available reviews, we took a chance on staying here vs the more established Le Cameleon hotel and we were not disappointed. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely Lauren who offered us very refreshing and delicious cocktails.
Check-in was very quick and efficient and we were shown the amenities of the lush property which included a small spa, pool, and very nice "high end" restaurant. We stayed in one of the 6 bungalows that each have their own private plunge pools. My one suggestion, especially considering the size, would be to convert them into working hot tubs, with jets and heat options. The weather tended to be a little chilly in the mornings during our visit so a dip in the ice cold plunge pool was not entirely ideal. Outside of that the rooms were beautifully decorated with all of the accommodations we needed. The only thing that was slightly puzzling was that during checkout we were told we needed to wait until housekeeping went through our room before we could leave. That was a little off putting and my husband questioned whether this was their standard practice for all guests or only applied to us. If the manager of this establishment happens to read this review I'd appreciate a response. It left a slightly bad taste to the end of an otherwise lovely stay.

From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for a treat. The surroundings are beautiful and welcome warm. We were quickly booked into our rooms (bungalows) and within no time had settled in. All of the staff were there if we needed and always happy to offer advice.
We ate at the hotel and found the prices to be equal to those we found in town and the quality of food was very high. Breakfasts were fantastic. All of the staff we so nice and friendly.
We loved our stay here and would return in a heartbeat.

Namu Hotel Garden Spa provides a luxury resort experience in the heart of Puerto Viejo. Built in July 2023, the hotel is a new and undiscovered slice of paradise. The grounds are beautiful, the master suites are spacious and elegantly designed, and the bungalows have private splash pools and amazing garden tubs. But what takes Namu to the next level is its restaurant, Num. Chef Rosis is hands down the best Chef in Costa Rica. I can’t say enough good things about Namu. We can’t wait to come back. Pura Vida

I had a very similar experience to another person that has posted. I also booked direct and the hotel charged me four times for the same booking for me and my wife’s honeymoon, it wasn’t until after we stayed and spoke to the manager direct that they processed our refund (three weeks after we had left). The communication from the management is awful and when we were eventually refunded they charged us a 7% admin fee on each refund. This combined equated to hundreds of pounds that to date they have still not reimbursed me for even though it was their mistake! Countless emails, no response! There are better hotels out there that treat customers with more respect and don’t rip them off!

Wondering why there aren’t more reviews here for Namu Hotel. We just spent 4 nights there in a bungalow with our own private yard with dip pool, which was perfect for after long days of hiking and exploring. The room itself was very comfortable and well decorated. Comfy bed. The hotel is relatively new, and the grounds and gardens are beautifully designed and maintained. We saw wildlife on the property. It feels further away from town of Puerto Viejo than it is - just a short walk into town which is full of restaurants and shops. The restaurant at the hotel was great for breakfasts. We also had dinner there one night and it was very good. Everyone that worked there was super friendly and helpful, and the service was great. We did not use the main pool as we had our own at the bungalow, and we were out doing activities most of the time. We enjoyed our stay.

The hotel itself is beautiful, very stylish and brand new. The rooms are spacious and the decor is great and i can't think of anything bad. The guys who run the bar during the day are incredibly nice, professional and helpful.
The garden is wonderful too and the pool, albeit not massive, does a perfect job (we booked a superior bedroom and now i regret it, as we didn't appreciate all the bungalows have their own plunge pool). Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The only not so great experience was when we checked in. We were a bit early and the room wasn't ready so we left our luggage at the reception and went for a walk. When we came back the room was ready but the luggage's still at the reception. The receptionist (a guy) asked if we need any help (we had a very big bag - so that would have been obviously appreciated) but basically suggested we could have done the job our-self otherwise he should have done that. we ended up climbing some stairs with him guiding us and two of us bringing up a huge bag, plus two carry on and two backpacks... I would have brought up the big one myself anyway but he could have definitely offered a hand with say, a backpack and a carry on

This is now and by far my favourite relaxing spot after difficult weeks. The ambience is exquisite. The rooms are so beautiful and full of details. The private Bungalows are amazing but so are the regular rooms and suites. To top it up, after trying most of the Menu by now, the food is delicious and the service is marvellous. I love this place. Highly recommend it! Enjoy

The hotel is quite nice and location really good. So we would definitely come back. I believe everyone should provide a customer service as warm and genuine as Jazmin does, that is the improvement I see here. A warmer and more welcoming customer care. Jazmin does an excellent job and is very caring about the guests that is what I would expect to see in all hotel areas. Other than that loved the stay.

Best kept secret in Puerto Viejo. An oasis of tranquility 5 minutes walking distance from the beach. The whole hotel is modern, clean and feels very luxurious. The staff were just wonderful and the food was delicious. Shout out to the lovely waitress who served us throughout with such warmth. The most perfect stay, we did not want to leave!

HORRIBLE HOTEL AND MANAGEMENT
Do not stay here!!! If if could rate this hotel 0 stars I would. Very unprofessional and rude. They only care about your money. They will not respond to you. They lie and promise to resolve the issue and they never do. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this rude, very poor service.
