Detailed Reviews
We stayed at a very clean air-conditioned room. There was a kitchenette with a full-size fridge. (no microwave or coffee maker though).
The location of this hotel is unbeatable, it's right on the beach facing an entry to the Cahuita National Park.
Beds were very comfortable.
2 things I wish were better: hot water pressure (showering was a bit challenging), and bigger towels (the towels provided were more like hand towel size)
Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Even though this hotel has been around for a while - it is still the best spot to stop and be able to enjoy the view of the ocean and beach from your room; plus be right next to the park and the sandy beach. There are newer rooms and don't be discouraged if you can't connect via email. At least for a while, the owners are simply running the hotel (at the very reasonable price) and are waiting for "political" things to settle before promoting or developing this nice hotel.

This well established hotel has a prime position with an ocean front view of the bounding surf. It is literally steps away from the park entrance and far enough away from the bar scene to be relatively quiet at night. Everything was clean and in order, The room are large with a large bathroom; TV, WiFi and a table and chairs just outside the door. There is a large observation deck with multiple lounge chairs. At $45 a night it was worth every penny. If you want to go higher up the scale, they have some fantastic looking suites - from what I could see peaking through an opened door. It is a good idea to book ahead because this is a favourite place for tours. Although they advertise credit cards as being acceptable, like everywhere else on Costa Rica, they much prefer cash.

My room overlooked the white sand beach & the entrance to the National Park. Having both beach & jungle together was the best of both worlds. Sleeping to the sound of crashing waves soothed my soul. The food was excellent as well.

True, Location is right at the entrance to the National Park, you are on the beach, close to town, shopping, but the hotel does nothing to keep you safe from people lurking around watching when you set down your camera, leave your room. High traffic area, the Hotel's parking lot is used for cruise tourists coming to the Park for the day. We have stayed here previously and 3 times we had something stolen or someone broke into our rooms. Great location for a group, but too risky.
Beware.

We ended up at Cahuita National Park Hotel by accident. We were initally supposed to be at a different hotel but there was a huge mix up and we ended up being without a hotel in Cahuita. We were slightly panicked (of course!) and started going to different hotels to find rooms for us. This hotel was one of the first ones we went into and I'm so happy we did. The staff was extremely accomidating on such short notice. They had to wait for 2 rooms to empty after check out time and then they cleaned them stat for us. The rooms we were in overlooked the beach and the hotel is literally at the entrance of the national park. The rooms we were in were beautiful and clean. The housekeeping staff did great cleaning the rooms and getting all the sand our kids tracked in. The staff even found a few coins that our son dropped and put them on the bed for us. We would definitely stay here again, but next time not by accident :)

Beautiful Beach view from our room and perfect location at the entrance to the National Park. Clean, air cond. rooms with a superb staff that made our stay very welcoming and comfortable. Great lounging areas to enjoy the beach and surf views.Showers were temperamental with not being very hot but always refreshing. Enjoyed our stay and will stay again.A dining area on sight made it convenient for coffee, drinks, food, etc. and great value, delicious food and fabulous cocktails. WiFi,Tv and a room safe also are great amenities, wifi glitched one night but the great staff fixed it quick.Loved the location at the parks entrance plus also away from the louder "area" of town in the evening, yet close enough to walk to everything. Thumbs up all round!

Great hotel touching one of the most beautiful oceans on earth. If you have a room on the second floor you head out in the morning and catch one of those beautiful sunrises you can only truely appreciate a few times in a lifetime.
More than just the picturesque location, the people at the National Park Hotel teach you how to experience life like a Costarican - laid back and enjoyed.
One morning we booked a trip to go white water rafting. While we were eating breakfast the bus arrived so my boyfriend and I hurried to catch the bus. The owner of the hotel told us to relax, we were on Costrican time now and he jogged down the street and made small talk with the bus driver who waited ten minutes for us finish enjoying our breakfast. Amazing.

The rooms are large, but very basic and not at all cleaned well: When we arrived, there was a piece of old candy sticking to the bedpost, an old, used bar of soap was in the shower, the mirror in the bathroom was smeared with god-knows-what, there was ash all over the table in front of the room and the lamps were coverd in spiderwebs. None of these annoyances had been cleaned when we left after 4 days The floor and the sheets seemed ok, though.
Service was almost non-existant: When we asked at the reception for a repair of the non-working safebox, the girl didn't even look up from her magazine. On the second day, the maid showed up when one of us was taking a shower, so we asked her to wait 5 minutes. After that, we vacated the room and let her know that she could do her job now. She acknowledged that, but nothing happened, even though we reminded her twice. The room remained uncleaned for the day.
Granted, the location is great, literally right in front of the entrance to the National Park, and pretty quiet, but paying 50$ (for a room without a view) per night for this is too much.

The hotel offers a great way to be close to Cahuita´s town center and especially to the National Park. The accommodations are simple but the staff is very friendly.
The restaurant offers some great Caribbean dishes full of savor.
