Myself, my wife and our 10 year old daughter enjoyed a wonderful eight night stay at the Margaritaville Hotel. This was not our first or even our second stay at this property, in fact we had visited here four or five times previous to Margaritaville taking over the running and operations of the hotel, and so we were very familiar with ‘Flamingo’ both before and after the Margaritaville transition and the Jimmy Buffet vibe and mantra had its corporate theme of approval stamped on the resort. Not in a bad way though, not at all, I am happy to add. I have always given this resort top reviews on an annual basis and that is still the case now after our February visit once again this year. We have always been very fond of the staff at Margaritaville and fortunately many of those kind ladies and gents are still plying their trade at the hotel. That is a big net positive and plus, since we have always been treated so well by so many, if not all of them - Manuel, Elias, (Jaime, Erica, Janette - Capriccios), Manolo, Orlando, Michael, Cynthia (TAM Tours) et al, et al, et al. Everyone across the entire spectrum of employment at the hotel are great ambassadors, super sound, friendly and good people - Thank you all for taking such good care of myself and my family on our most recent visit. We went to the rodeo one evening in Brasilito (Manuel’s recommendation- thanks pal) which was interesting, we did two catamaran sunset trips - Panache was the best (booked expertly through the always helpful lady Cynthia at TAM Tours in the lobby), also a day long trip to Diamanté Animal and Adventure Park, two dives with the on site Rocket Frog Divers (English Hannah and Taryn from Savannah (via Belfast like me!) were both professional, fun and excellent) and plenty of invigorating swims in the Ocean and relaxing family dips in the pool amongst daily Temple bar esque visits to the swim up Oasis for a yarn and a brewski served up in always fun fashion by Elias or Manolo. The bar food was great, also dinners at Capriccios Restaurant under the stewardship of Jaime (best waiter and loveliest bloke) were delicious, breakfasts were okay, not as good as on previous visits perhaps, but the wonderful Costa Rican coffee and a table outside in the mornings made the lack of porridge and limited variety of buffet not that much of a big deal. The live entertainment upstairs in the bar was always enjoyable when that was on the itinerary on some evenings and the servers were always friendly and hospitable. I did politely ask at reception three times for a second chair to be allocated to our room / balcony (like all the other rooms had) but we never did receive twin chairs, which was a marginal disappointment, but yet again, hardly a major grievance and don’t read much into that minor omission. Hopefully we shall continue visiting Margaritaville in our future trips to Costa Rica. We love the country, we love the lifestyle and we love the people and I’m happy to say that Margaritaville enhances that overall complimentary and positive experience myself and my family enjoy and have enjoyed on many occasions as your guests. Keep on keeping on. Cheers. Be well my Margaritaville friends. …
My wife and I just left the resort and had a great time. The first day we met a man Minor Gonzales just outside the hotel property. He has access to all types of excursions. We signed up for an awesome sunset cruise. We told him what we were interested in seeing in Costa Rica. We had rented a car so one day he went with us for an entire day. Took us special places to see monkeys, huge iguanas, beautiful waterfall. Rain forest and saw a bright blue river celeste rio. You tell him what you want and he will make sure you see it The hotel had an amazing staff. Everyone pleasant and the entire hotel took covid protocols to the maximum. Even making sure all guests followed the rules. Hotel was very clean. Beautiful pool. Direct access to the very nice beach. All the food we had there was very good but not a lot of change choices. We have never stayed at an all inclusive as we like to explore. From what we observed there are probably better all inclusive resorts but for us it was absolutely perfect. Would go back in a heartbeat…
Mr Manolo & Mr. Elias at License to Chill pool bar were amazing...Without a doubt they love their job and always have a smile on their face. Very professional, friendly, I would definitely come again .
This hotel/resort is: - ideal for young families who will take advantage of the pool and entertainment for children - great for physically fit people who don't mind walking up stairs (older people and/or those with physical disabilities should avoid this hotel) - perfect for those without a car or who do not wish to drive much, as everything is incredibly convenient (steps to a stunningly beautiful beach, great pool area/pool restaurant/bar..or you can relax in your room, visit the 5 O'clock bar or play games, tennis, etc.) - suited to people who plan to eat at restaurants for every meal (the studio with kitchenette had a refrigerator that wasn't cold until the day after arrival) For couples, or singles, or families with older children, you may enjoy this hotel quite a bit, but keep in mind that the pool has a DJ and lots of young children. This is a festive atmosphere that we really enjoyed, but understand what to expect. If you prefer a calm, quiet and tranquil environment by the pool, this ain't it. That being said, we usually stay at hotels that are more geared toward adults, but we really enjoyed our time here. The children were filled with sheer joy to be there and watching them play on the big blow-up floating animals was delightful. The staff work hard to provide a great experience. Every morning, the restaurant opened on time for breakfast and it was wonderful to sit right in front of the ocean. It seems that they offer something for everyone, and even as a vegetarian, I enjoyed the rice and beans, cheese, fresh tomatoes, fresh fruit and pastries that they offered every morning, along with coffee and fresh juice. There service was excellent and Eric was wonderful. I would recommend Margaritaville to others, as it's clean and well-maintained, has beautiful decor, lovely rooms and the staff are friendly. It has a positive vibe. Just keep in mind that they have many guests to accommodate and you may quickly find that the front desk reception is lacking in personal attention. Also, I recommend showing your ID to the security guard when you first enter the property so that he can find your reservation quickly.…
