Super friendly and helpful staff! Accommodations were comfortable and very clean. Fun to have a porcupine on our deck to greet us. Breakfast was delicious. We loved seeing the animals and critters on a hike and night tour! Highly recommend!

A unique and great experience. It was fun to stay in the treehouse, the treehouses are beautiful. We loved the nightwalk and saw lots of animals, a tarantula, scorpion, turtle, ants, armadillo and frogs. We liked the walk around the property, however the waterfall is no longer a place you can swim, which is a shame. This was the only negative about our stay. My girls loved the dogs on site, especially as they walk you down to the waterfall. Rae is great and booked us a chocolate tour, which was excellent. There was dancing at breakfast which my girls loved and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.

We are so happy you had a great time at Tree Houses.....the dogs are a big hit, especially when your missing your own. One of the gals who danced at breakfast is the daughter of Efren, our grounds manager. They are going to Peru next month to compete. We can't wait to hear how they do. The dancing is just beautiful. Thanks so much Rae

Accommodation, very clean, enjoyed the guided nightly hikes exploring all the living creatures, very friendly and accommodating staff. Tree House Hotel not close to any walking distant restaurants, and shopping center (must have vehicle, or arranged transportation) they of course provided service for a nominal fee. Tree House did at times have a sewage type odor resignating from bathroom. Enjoyed warm coffee brought to cabin every morning 🌄. Hot breakfast with daily fresh fruit provided every morning. Overall a great place to stay.

Comfortable beds in a beautiful treehouse. Coffee and daily breakfast was amazing. Do not recommend for mobility impaired, as you must negotiate a gravel trail and stairs up to the treehouse. We loved seeing monkeys, hummingbirds, frogs, sloths, and a snake. Unforgettable experience!

We stayed here with our family of 4, including our two boys ages 8 & 11. All of us enjoyed it, and it was our favorite place we stayed while we ere in Costa Rica. The staff helped us arrange a tour itinerary before our stay based on our preferences, and made sure we were able to get an early breakfast those mornings we had to leave earlier than the standard breakfast time. The breakfast menu rotates each day of the week, though you can swap out for scrambled eggs & toast if you don't like it (which our kids opted for most of the time). The staff leaves plantains to attract birds at breakfast. Our boys enjoyed giving the resident dogs lots of attention! The property has a very "out in nature" feel with a ton of wildlife around, even though it's not really off the beaten path. It is a 40 or so minute drive to the touristy La Fortuna area, but I find I didn't mind this at all, and appreciated being in an area inhabited by more locals. We did the walk to the river/waterfall on our free day which was a bit long (a little over a mile each way) but well worth it! We were treated to a group of howler monkeys having lunch in a tree on the way back. The cicadas were VERY loud and would turn on and off throughout the day. The tree houses are the perfect blend of rustic yet comfortable. We stayed in the Hummingbird tree house. The A/C worked great and the WiFi was fast and reliable. You could hear a bit of road noise in the distance from the porch, but it wasn't bad. I liked how the shower opened via screen to the outside, to make it feel like you were out in nature. One time I saw a parrot eating fruit in an adjacent tree from the shower. The water ran a little cooler than ideal, but it wasn't too big a deal due to the heat/humidity. Note that you do have to bring your own shampoo and body wash if you want something other than bar soap. There are places to eat and gas/groceries nearby. We went to one of the restaurants recommended in the binder in the room (Tico's Fogon) and it was one of the best places we ate on our trip. The staff will also order food for delivery if desired, which we did a few times when we were tired and didn't want to go out. Be sure to bring cash (either colones or USD) if you want to use this option. They also did our laundry which is also paid in cash at checkout; it is very reasonable at 8 USD a load. The staff was great, are very friendly and helpful, and regularly converse with the guests at breakfast. One of our highlights was the Tico's Afternoon at Yiandra's dairy farm, where our boys got to play with her kids, and we got to learn about life in Costa Rica. The night tour was also great; it was one of my older son's highlights. My boys both still talk about the bullet ant, scorpion, and tarantula we saw on the hike! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for unique yet comfortable lodging that fits the personality of visiting the jungle.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Tree Houses Hotel. The room was very comfortable, the shower was great, and the balcony with coffee brought to you by hotel staff every morning was a pleasure morning, noon and night. The breakfasts are not huge, but they are well prepared and tasty. The bird watching at breakfast is some of the best we had our whole trip. We appreciated and enjoyed the free night walk....(hope to see the flourrescent scorpion). The place is a 45 minute drive from La Fortuna, so it is a bit out of the way of the action around Arenal. Amazing experience for the kids. We had the toucan tree house which had 2 little beds in the ‘attic’. Our kids loved it (8 and 10). Was a bit warm up there but ok. I would not recommend this specific tree house at there is a whole in the floor to go down the ladder to the main bedroom. Could be a safety hazard for small children. There is a river walking distance that is amazing for a swim. We saw howler monkeys and all sorts of birds. Our kids loved the company of the 2 dogs on the property. We did the night forest hike which is free. We saw phosphorent scorpions, armadillo, tarantula. It was great. Yiandra the manager is so nice. We loved the thermos coffee brought to our cabin in the morning. We visited two little monkeys chocolate farm which is about 20 minutes from there and it was amazing. The only down side is that it is not far enough from the road so you hear the motorcycles and trucks in the morning. Otherwise, it was truly magical.

My husband and I loved the Tree Houses. Everything from the staff to the rooms was such a pleasant experience! Climbing up the stairs to our room and being amongst the trees was heavenly. You are surrounded by the sounds of birds, crickets, monkeys and more. The 7 houses are set far apart from each other. It is very private! Taking a shower amongst the trees is delightful! Each morning you get a home cooked breakfast. We also got dinnerfrom local sodas delivered to our room each night. We took the night tour they offer and I highly suggest it. We saw tree frogs, a sloth, armadillo and more. So very cool. We also took their path down to the river (about 30-40 minute walk) and saw several howler monkeys. Our final treat, after our walk, as we were climbing the stairs to our house, we saw a toucan!! The toucan stayed for quite awhile. I would recommend a car as the location is a bit outside of LaFortuna. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Oh, and the resident dogs are very friendly!

Absolutely wonderful stay. We are a family of four (6 yr old and 4 yr old) and stayed for 4 nights in the Agouti treehouse. Fantastic accommodation, waking up to the sounds of dawn in the rainforest is something we'll never forget. Kids enjoyed spotting howler monkeys and iguanas from our balcony. We saw a boa constrictor snake whilst out walking around the property, memorable!! Fabulous staff, all very welcoming and helpful. Yiandra organised some great tours for us, and it was lovely to get to know the guys over breakfast at the lodge.
