Detailed Reviews
My husband and I did a staycation at Bulgari Shanghai. It was our first time away from our newborn and we were looking for a short break. We stayed two nights in the Bund suite. From the moment we walked in, I was greeted with a huge bouquet of flowers. Our suite was in mint condition and they also had beautifully decorated it with customized signage so we wouldn't miss our daughter. It was beyond expectations and we loved it.
Dinner at Il Niko was exceptional. Very well thought out custom menu was prepared for us days in advance and they delivered. I believe this restaurant deserves 2 Michelin (not 1) star..
Rooftop for a night cap is magical. The Bulgari sits far away from the Bund that you get a stunning 180 Shanghai skyline view while sitting a beautifully appointment Miami style lounge/terrace. It wasn't crowded as it was midweek but we had a great, relaxing time.
Finally the spa experience. They have Le Mer products and it is divine. The therapists are experienced and it shows, beautiful pool and facilities as well. Everything is well done.
This was just the beginning however! Ms Eva overdelivered in every area...from before we ever arrived to long after we left. I am writing this review almost 1 year after our staycation. Since they I have gone countless times to Il Niko, the spa, the terrace, etc and recommended this wonderful oasis to local friends. What is exceptional is the SERVICE. Not only is Ms Eva my one stop shop for everything, anytime, anywhere (including help with other Bulgari reservations such as Beijing), she truly goes above and beyond with each touchpoint. It is always refreshing to communicate with Eva and she truly makes you feel like a valued customer, every time. This is unique and if you have the chance to stay at Bulgari Shanghai, ask for Eva and she will take very good care of you. The rest of the staff is also very professional. We are Bonvoy people but in this instance, would stay at Bulgari over and over with this kind of personalized service. Thank you Eva and staff. Keep up the GREAT work!

The service at the hotel is phenomenal, special thanks to the duty manger Quincy who has made me feel extremely welcomed.
The hotel has one of the best views in Shanghai, highly recommend reserving a room with bund view. The stunning view could also be enjoyed on level 47 which offers outdoor afternoon tea.
As Shanghai lights up at night, the rooftop bar on level 48 is great for catching up with friends over drinks with the Pudong skyline as backdrop.

Excellent experience in IL Bar Service by Nicki with her best attitude. Since I flew back to China after the quarantine, I went to this hotel for afternoon tea, the service of Nicki surprised me a lot. She made a phone call before arrival with my allergic issues, which detail matters everything. She took care of every single guest using her heart. I can see the standard through her service. The dress code is clean and tight. She left a great impression on me. Nine months later, I came to Bugalri Shanghai again because of her.
I made a call yesterday and talked to the assistant bar manager Joe. She showed her outstanding management and communication skills to the guest and listened to the experience that I had a few months ago. I genuinely felt I was home once I heard the voice from her. Once I arrived today, everyone knew my name and talked to me.
Engaging guests and customers are one of the most important things that hotels should focus on.
Bugalri Shanghai is the best hotel that I would stay in Shanghai and become A BIG FUN OF THIS HOTEL!!!!
Wonderful Experience!!!!

Terribly underwhelming experience, from one of the most expensive afternoon teas in the city.
My wife and I visited the Bulgari, Shanghai, for what was meant to be a birthday treat. Sadly, it was not the experience we expected from such a luxury brand. We paid close to 1000 rmb for the afternoon tea.
Upon arrival to the hotel, we were met with a concierge staff member who just pointed towards the elevator, as opposed to telling us which floor we were meant to go to for the restaurant. No biggie, but the sigh from the staff member when I had to go back and ask him where the restaurant was was rather impolite.
Sadly, when getting into the restaurant our experience did not improve. We were not greeted at the elevator, nor were we acknowledged upon entry. We eventually stated our name to the staff who took us to a small table, which offered limited access to views of the Bund. This was despite the fact there were many tables with views of the Bund. Given that I had reserved, I’m not sure why a Bund view wouldn’t be offered, especially when the occasion of our visit had been shared in advance.
When we sat down, a menu was given to us. We were told we could go “BASIC” if we wanted. Basic menu at 828rmb without water?! A hotel such as the Bulgari - nothing should be described as basic! The prices were quoted in dollars, even though the menu stated RMB - this confused me, as neither my wife or I are American.
We were eventually moved to a Bund-view seat, after asking. I asked for a glass for water and was only offered Sparkling (150rmb a bottle, although price was not quoted or listed on a menu) or “tap water”. Having been in China for 7 years, this is the first time I’ve been offered “tap water”. It’s most certainly not how it should be described.
We left the afternoon tea underwhelmed by an afternoon tea, which was too small. Too sweet. Too expensive for what we received.
I really don’t think the Bulgari is an appropriate place to serve Afternoon Tea. Their staff don’t seem to have the ability to promote it.
Very disappointing.

Can't wait to write this review for Bulgari Hotel Shanghai.
This is our second time to stay at this hotel. All hotel staffs are very helpful and polite, you could feel the smiles even they wear a face mask. You could also feel great hospitality from the beginning when you enter the hotel. The breakfast is good, the swimming pool is also good (Last time we didn't have the swimming gears with us, so missed such a nice hotel facility). Thumb up for Bulgari Hotel Shanghai.
Here I want to express my super big THANK YOU to Rainie Zhou. She is very professional, very nice personality. She helped us a lot for our anniversary day, throughout our stay, from check-in to check-out. Really far beyond our expectations.
Very appreciated for everything done for us. And Thank you again to Rainie Zhou, her team and Bulgari Hotel Shanghai !!! See you next time!!!

The hotel staff was amazing! They recommended food options and even helped me get a taxi. Especially, a staff member named Mike was very kind. I will definitely visit this hotel again. Thank you to all the staff! Also, the restaurant on the 47th floor for breakfast and the bar on the 48th floor are fantastic!

It was New Years Eve. I was at the Jingan Shangri-la Spa. I came out after 7pm and met a new friend from US near the Elevator. We went to the lounge and chatted almost an hour. Around 8pm he went to join the Jingan Shangri-la New Years Eve festivities and I decided to spend the night at the Bund. Last year, I was at the Edition all night. Previous year, I was at the Calypso, a Jingan Shangri-la outlet.
This year, I wanted to do something totally different. I came to BVLGARY Hotel around 9pm. Wow! Big surprise. BVLGARY was ready. Beautiful lounge. I went to the rooftop, noticed the new cabanas. All set for the countdown. Empty rooftop because it was too early. Stunning views and beautiful decorations. Great job.
I came to Bellagio next door around 10pm. Bellagio is the most beautiful hotel of Shanghai. But looked as usual. Nothing new for the New Years Eve. I left soon and came to the Peninsula next door. It was disappointing, looked everything chaotic, which I didn't expect. As a matter of fact, I was planning to stay here for the New Years Eve but changed my mind quickly. Everything looked very disorganized. I left and came to the Hyatt on the Bund next door.
View Bar was ready. I saw few familiar faces. Great crowd and great party. It was lot of fun. Champagne, countdown and champagne again and again just like last year at the Edition. In the morning, I saw the dawn of 2020 from Hyatt on the Bund.
The New Years Eve night started from BVLGARY Shanghai and ended in the Hyatt on the Bund. Happy New Year 2020!
