Fiji Palms - These units are in the older section and are Saturday checkins. The resort is about 2 hour drive from Nadi airport. Driving in Fiji offers a lot of freedom and can be easily navigated if you take your time and are comfortable in most driving situations. The left side of the road for US citizens can take some getting used to. They are two bedrooms and have one bath, but they are nice sized used and clean. The beds are decent, not plush, but comfortable and the living areas can comfortably fit eight people. There is no oven, but a stovetop and microwave are there and you can grill outside if you like. These are different from the Utilqa @ Fiji palms units based on check in date and number of bathrooms as well as location next to the beach. There are grills onsite you want to reserve, but the two hot tubs and the large pool are always open - not the case at other resorts. The restaurant onsite served good meals and the prices were reasonable compared to the hotel next door and the restaurant across the street. The grounds are nicely decorated with beautiful flowers and kept clean. The water onside is good for brushing teeth but bottled water (can be purchased across the street) is best for drinking. They will even arrange cab / car service for you if you ask. My daughter and son in law got a bit stranded when their car busted a tire and the resort staff member that manages the front desk was very helpful in arranging car service and getting them safety to the resort. There is an onsite LOVO (Fiji themed meal and entertainment) done weekly and organized tours that leave from the property that you are able to sign up for every Sunday. The beach was gorgeous and not overcrowded at all. The water was warm and clear. The pool had soft fake grass around it, but it made it easier to step out of the pool and onto a comfortable surface. Restaurants: The onsite restaurant, next door is The Pearl restaurants and activities you can sign up for as they have an agreement with Fiji Palms and The Establishment across the street. The grocery named TrueMart with gas station is about 10 minutes away with a good restaurant connected to it.
Fiji is a lovely island with a taste of the opulence and fullness of natural beauty not seen many places. The villages show a way of life that make a visitor appreciate the beauty in living off the land and sustaining yourself with a beautiful community. The tours we enjoyed that were offered onside was the Safari Tour, Suva City Tour and the Riverboat/tubing tour.

The hotel has great excursions that can be booked directly by the front desk and because it is in Pacific Harbour, you are one of the last pick ups on the way to the excursion. We heard many stories from people on the excursion bus that they had been on the tour bus for over 1 hour each time they went on an excursion. The whole staff, including housekeeping, grounds staff, driver, restaurant and bar is wonderful and so Down to the...earth!

These awesome people go to the end of the earth to make your stay enjoyable. From the groundsmen to the bar staff to onsite management, ALL of them made us feel comfortable and relaxed from the get go. I could bang on for ages about how good they where, but better still, go experience it for yourself.!!!!
