We had a lovely time, staff are amazing and get to know you. Lots of activities for the entire family, beach is pristine. The kids club is next to none - Mickey convinced our daughter to join in on the cultural night performance which they learnt in <1hr. Food also amazing especially Nuku Marau conveniently located next to the kids pool - thanks Navik for amazing fish tacos, kids bentos and sushi and salads which we had daily. 1808 was adults haven. Just sad it does take a while to get to Castaway (boat ride and transfer from main island needs pre-planning, we stayed at a resort on mainland to break up the travel from Sydney.) We will be back!!

What an amazing place to be, especially the people!! Paul, Boo Boo, Mimi, Colin, Dave at the pool bar and all the rest of the staff. The weather was perfect and a very real atmosphere. I am already saving for the next trip. People recommend other islands but this will be the only place I will holiday from now on 👌🏻😊💙 See you soon guys!!

This island is wow 🤩 amazing. But what makes it the best is the staff. Dave at the pool bar🤩🥇 Bo-Bo and Me-me at the buffet very attentive and beautiful 🤩 lady’s 🥰 I would have to write at book to name all of the wonderful people that work there!! Can’t wait to go back!!!!

Arrived as preparations were being undertaken for Cyclone Mal, however resort staff had everything under control and we were comfortable and safe for the period of lockdown (24 hours). Staff cleared the resort and beaches of debris and made sure it was safe for holidaymakers to utilise the resort and facilities immediately following and we moved to a beach front Bure immediately afterwards. Absolutely wonderful scenery, staff who all seem to know you and are so welcoming and a perfect place to be to relax either in the pools or in the sea swimming or in a hammock. Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday with our family so memorable. Such a wonderful week on Castaway, we will be back again next year. Bula Vinaka.

Bula! What a fabulous week celebrating a friends 50th with 4 families. Kids ranging from 9 to 15 enjoyed roaming the island, it’s so safe & the 3 youngest loved kids club, they all loved the buffet food, volleyball, kayaking & snorkeling. Special mention to Dave the pool barman, who kept the party going with music & cocktails flowing. Had such fun with Ima in the restaurant, she knew how to handle our large group with a laugh & practical jokes. Restaurant 1808 was gorgeous & all staff in general have a ready smile & genuine desire to be friendly & make your stay memorable. Highly recommend heading out early with kayaks, paddle around the whole island (it’s not far) and snorkel along the way. Tips- Take inflatables to float in the water in the arvo & you’re allowed to take a couple bottles of wine/bubbles to put on ice & enjoy on your island bure balcony. Vinaka xxxx…

I wouldn't go back to many resorts, BUT, I would go back to Castaway. Sorry this is a delayed review as I forgot to write about our trip in April 2023. We splurged with a helicopter transfer. Amazing views and great once in a lifetime experience. We were greeted by a group of singers, and check in was easy. Our beach bure was beautiful. Unobstructed views of the ocean, 2 hammocks tried to trees outside and a little ladder to climb down into the water (we were on the non-beach side which I think worked out well as it was more peaceful). Insides of the bure were homely and comfortable. The great thing about this resort is there is no tv and no wifi so we were forced to detox from screens and life in general. The kids would wake each morning and read a book on the hammock. We spent most of the days at the beach, occasionally in the pool. Water sports like kayaking and SUP were free. The sunset kayak was an amazing group activity. Breakfast was standard buffet. We are vegetarian, so special mention goes to Dennis the chef for helping us with lunch and dinner options. Other special mentions: - Maria from the restaurant who was amazingly friendly and had a beautiful singing voice - Terry the disco DJ - Samu who gave the orientation - Ilami the gardener near our Bure who also delivered coconuts to us - Penny the gardener who would deliver us fresh coconuts each morning - Alisi for braiding my daughters hair - Neumi the best barista on the island - Moses for looking after us at breakfast - Norman for pumping out delicious pizza - Toko our smiley waiter - Mickey from kids club…

If any one wants an absolute great family holiday Castaway Island Resort would have to be one of the best place to stay it’s called the barefoot island and lives up to to it’s name very casual but all the mod cons that you need. Food was great especially the buffet for kids and the the al a cart was extensive as well as 1808 specialty restaurant and the Sunset Bar. The babysitters and Nannies made it absolutely enjoyable for everyone. Thank you Steven , Pau and all the staff for making it a great family holiday I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone to try it.

We’ve been several times so know what to expect. Its a 4 star small resort. So so warm & friendly that after years & years of not being there, it felt like home to return. But thats why we like it (less is more in some cases). So those who complain about bugs (hey - its an island w traditional bures - not hotel accomm), not enough restaurants (its 65 rooms - not 365). Sure there could be some improvements-courtesy room should have toiletries same as rooms (after all - everything is pretty much packed in luggage. Attention to detail - 2 out of our 3 rooms booked didnt have pool/beach towels already in the room. Buffet nights should be carefully scrutinised as to hygiene heating requirements (2 party members got sick - pretty sure it is because of buffet). A common problem in resorts in warm temperatures Having said that - I/we would return again & again & again. We met fabulous people, staff overwhelmingly wonderful & nothing too much of a problem if you had a request. Service at dinner a little random - sometimes excellent/sometimes theyd forget things. But did we care - absolutely not. We love the place. But overall - theres a “vibe” like no other resort in Fiji. …

We had a wonderful stay here, nailing the brief of a relaxed tropical holiday in paradise! The resort is positioned beautifully and our bure was only steps from the beach. The rooms are very nice and have everything you need, including big comfy beds. The food was very good, lots of choice and different themed dinners some nights too. Our kids loved the breakfast buffet and still talk about it! The staff are super friendly, often rembering our names and always wonderful towards the children. Our kids went to kids club a couple of times, they were a bit nervous but staff were great and they came back happy. The pools are great and swim up bar with delicious cocktails, great spot for an afternoon! Snorkeling off the beach was excellent, no need to get in a boat. We also used kayaks and SUP all free of charge. Our only 'complaint' was the restaurant service wasn't consistent and we had a few long waits. It def wasn't bad, just minor details that were a bit frustrating and not what we anticipated, especially compared with every other aspect of the stay. Having said that, we voiced our concerns in the post visit follow up survey and received a personal reply from the manager which speaks volumes about how much this resort cares for its guest experience. Castaway Island is truly paradise! Turquoise waters, swaying palms and vibrant reefs make the island such a stunning destination. But our holiday was made particularly special by the outstanding staff who get to know you by name, are warm and friendly and go out of their way to help you! Aside from sunny days spent snorkeling, kayaking or playing in the water as a family, we will remember meals times where our children were welcomed and danced with (to amazing music!) And the kids begging to go to kids club because they loved the fun activities and playful nature of all of the staff there. An especially big thank you to Lucy, Paul, Mickey, Jessie and Diddy for always making our family feel so happy!
