Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice place to stay for snorkeling, diving or just visiting Mamanuca Islands. Of course it need some renovation ( what started this month ), but the staff was amazing and location is the best . Highly recommended.

My wife and I finished our Open Water certification here after completing our theory and confined water dives in California. Couldn't be happier with this choice! Our instructor Tuks and the entire staff were simply amazing. Tuks did a fantastic job of incorporating the skills we had to practice for the course with realistic dives that allowed us to both see things and feel much more comfortable in the water. We did another 4 dives with them afterwards and were able to explore more of the 20+ dive sites around Mana. If you are considering a diving vacation or just want to explore diving and you are on Mana, I'd highly recommend checking out Ratu Kini.

We completed our PADI open water diver course with Tuks, who is a great instructor, and extremely knowledgeable. The diving was so amazing we stayed and did another four dives with them. We want to come back and do more dives here!

Just returned from Ratu Kini. Had an authentic Fijian village experience in basic accommodation. Beautiful stretch of beach, however the rest of Mana island was inaccessible due to filming of US Survivor. Food options limited & unable to access resorts on Island for other options which was disappointing. Out of Ratu Kini's control, just good to be aware of.

We used Ratu Kini for transfers to Mana Island from Nadi when staying at Mana Isaln Resort. Picked up at Fantasy Island jetty (nearby to Denerau Port) on the 18th and dropped back again on the 24th. Well run and good fun - plus nearly 50% saving on the South Sea Cruises price. Best bits - you arrive between the "Big Boats" so there is no queue to check in to Mana Island Resort, no hopping between different resorts so the trip is quicker. Don't wear your good shoes as there is a short calf deep walk from the 16 seat boat to the shore when arriving at Mana Island.

We’re already planning to go back! We stayed at Ratu Kini to do our PADI open water course and we absolutely loved it. Our instructor Laura and her Partner in Crime, Ollie looked after us so well and the dive sites were phenomenal. There is so much life in the ocean. The food was amazing and we encourage trying as much local Fijian food as possible especially the kokoda and nama (sea grapes) which were picked literally from the ocean around the island. We stayed in the single beachfront cottage and it was perfect for us - we spent most of our time outside exploring and on the main restaurant deck. Overall the staff were very friendly and there was such a chilled vibe about Ratu Kini. We recommend this place to anyone looking for a complete getaway on such a beautiful island. Vinaka team and we’ll see you very soon.

Stayed at Ratu Kini for a week to do the PADI open water certificate. The dive shop is basic, but the current instructors Nico and Shane are very good and dedicated guys. They make diving simple and fun. 5 stars for them! Thank you Nico. The hostel itself is good. A very local island experience, basic dorm accommodations, no running hot water in the showers and a mostly casual easy going management style. Scheduling errors can happen, and you might be asked to move from one room to another, but they didn't have any problem when I had to leave a few days early due to a diving medical problem. There is a small convenience store where fresh bread and some local products are delivered daily for a very reasonable price. And meals at the restaurant were always good and well priced. WiFi will cost you per day, so make sure to get a local SIM card at the airport and you'll be glad you did! You'll see kids and the house dogs running around and feel right at home with the truly amazing and friendly Fujian staff. Come with reasonable expectations and you'll have a great time and stay.

Wonderful people! We had a quaint ocean front room that sits next to the islanders own homes, so you really get that true island vibe. Ben, Phillippe, Moss and a host of others, all worked to make sure our experience was a special. We were originally scheduled to spend two nights, but we were having so much fun, that we extended our stay another night.

stayed here two nights to end our time island hoping after two weeks In fiji and honestly the worse place we stayed. Staff - apart from Ana and Tefa (please excuse the spelling) who were the loveliest women...... everyone else was rude. Receptionist rude and blunt. We arrived on a small boat and was soaking wet (due to their PAID transfer.. you’d think they would know the drill by now) but she had no urgency to get us towels / allow us to sort ourselves out before settling up. We were freezing! The “Events” guy was a slightly off. Would just interrupt conversation or even more creepy, hover over you awkwardly? Locals - the local are just chilling in the bar getting drunk from about 1pm. In the evening the men get very touchy and even kissed one of the girls we were with causing her to cry and feel uncomfortable. The guy was barred for just ONE WEEK?? girls be careful and no not accept the drinks they offer you Activities - Advertised but often not run. The “events” guy was just never anywhere to be scene. One guy asked him at 7am if the were going to castaway island and he did to get back to till 2pm? And then said? no consistency. Not a good representation of Fiji. If you want a true Fijian stay go to the Yasawa islands. Don’t waste your time here. You will be let down.
