The Corner Courtyard is an attempt to resurrect the glorious epoch of Calcutta through a meticulous reconstruction of this 110-year-old colonial building. This painstaking and passionate refurbishing project has been artfully concluded to keep the character of the actual imperial structure alive, while accommodating modern-day facilities to provide a matchless experience through time. The seven uniquely themed rooms evoke different shades and moods of Kolkata, each interspersed with a narrative and replete with classic century-old furniture especially handpicked and restored for your pleasure. The rooms, each categorized by a specific color- Indigo, Ivory, Cadmium, Crimson, Vermillion, Charcoal and Eden Green, denote different facets of the city of joy, which we have tried to recreate through the individual decor of these rooms. Our endeavors to ensure that you have a culturally immersive stay have led us to create an exclusive multi-cuisine menu hand-crafted by Gourmet Chefs for our in-house restaurant, incorporating global culinary trends with traditional Indian flavors. In addition, our vintage open-roof Land Rover is available round the clock to provide a luxurious city-tour fit for royalty. Combing values of elegance and simplicity, we at The Corner Courtyard desire to etch Kolkata's varied heritage in the hearts and minds of our guests while catering to their every comfort. So with open arms we welcome you to partake of this journey through time that is The Corner Courtyard. We hope your stay will be memorable.

It is a beautiful vintage property, reminds one of the houses in the olden days. Moreover, the highlight definitely is the dining area adorned with the crafty chairs, chandeliers, ornamental walls and the decor was top notch. The room however I felt was a little small to suit my needs, nevertheless everything else was great. We had ordered dinner on a particular night and found it pretty decent.

I stayed on a single occupancy. Competent price. Cute, quaint corner property. Not too far or close from the city centre.. Not too quiet not too noisy.. the ground floor is the courtyard converted in to the restaurant.. I stayed in the first floor. The noise, aroma, of the restaurant parks itself on the first floor rooms. The rooms are stuffy & really need good ventilation. Though I had a lovely terrace, the upkeep was such that I instantly thought someone should have opened the windows for a bit before handing me over the keys. The bathroom also had the same dampness. Though when I insisted the staff was polite enough to move me to another room. & tried best to understand the problem.i genuinely feel the restaurant either needs to shift to the terrace or the air flow needs more circulation. The food aroma & the monsoon dampness in the rooms on the first floor really spoilt the charm of the colonial furniture & seemingly botique room. It's just these small attention to detail that makes something like a heritage neemrana property stands out.though I have struggled with any better experience in the past as well in calcutta.. I will definately re book for next visit. & leave my comments with the staff to improvise.. I enjoy such smaller Botique hotels that reflect the taste of the owner in curating it. Room tip: avoid the first floor centre room.

Get ready to be transported back to the 1800s. The ambience of this place is stunning. A boutique hotel in every sense - the themes of each room take inspiration from the city itself and the food is as good as it gets.

Had booked for two nights. It’s a well done hotel but the Housekeeping is pathetic. The room was simply put dirty. There was dust all over. The paint from the walls is peeling off. Ants in the shower area. Musty smell. Cobwebs on the walls. And the cherry on the cake was an inch high spring coming out of the mattress which they could not replace so we had to put extra douvets over it. The sheets were smelling and the pillow cases were frayed !
It’s very sad to see a beautiful property which has so much potential going down the drain because the maintenance is terrible. I wish they would get a really good manager who has a housekeeping back ground.
All in all I do not recommend this place.

Stayed here for 3 nights and loved every detail of this place. So much love has been put into this hotel, owned by people who know their stuff and clearly love their city. Everything is done beautifully, from the individually styled rooms (themed, but very subtly) to the food, the coffee.. I couldn't find a fault. The staff were so courteous and sincerely helpful, this was far and away the best service I have ever experienced in Kolkata. If this is a hidden gem, it can't stay hidden for long! I'll be recommending this place to all my friends. Seriously well done!

Had dinner a few days ago. Vegetarian fare. Most of the food lacked flavor of the vital ingredients... There was no flavor of pesto in the pizza and very small bits of sun dried tomato.
An effort to be 'fine dining' has been made and for locals it may be outstanding...so be it.
However, I will submit that the staff were attentive and helpful. The service was good.
Wish a little more effort to improve the food may be considered.

Stayed 3 nights recently. This tired excuse for a hotel may once have been popular as a 'quirky' boutique hotel but time has taken its toll. Our bathroom had a broken toilet seat unattended to despite several requests. Mould was growing alarmingly in bathroom corners and towels were threadbare. Every horizontal surface in our room was filthy. The receptionist was of no help whatsoever. When I asked if she had a map of Kolkata she pointed to a small novelty world globe on the windowsill and said naively; "You can see where you are on that." Wi-Fi was seriously problematic. The owner told us the hotel is closing in May for renovations. I'd have thought they'd need to close for 3 months to fix the place properly. Dining was ok but could have included a couple of local dishes.

I am absolutely in love with this hotel. Everything about it is magical. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and respectful. They helped us arrange a tour of the city, gave us good restaurant recs, and even called us cabs at a moment's notice.

Best of all, the hotel itself is beyond incredible. This is some of the best food I have had in India and I have lived in India for four years. The breakfast is delightful, the lunch is incredible, and we did not want to leave the hotel. The room service is fantastic and I highly recommend the masala chai which they serve with rose petals.

My GF and I stayed in the Indigo Room. I loved it and I love how it is on the top floor. We are dying to come back to this hotel.

Perhaps not ur usual choice for a business trip but, my luck found me searching for an alternative to my usual choice of hotels and a after quick recommendation, I found myself renting a room at this truly well designed boutique hotel. There aren't many rooms being an old colonial styled Calcutta family home but the transformation is simply amazing. The ground floor fronted by a friendly reception area has a restaurant and small patisserie that boasts a selection of fresh breads and yummy desserts. Each room is unique and range in color & warmth with an extra touch of class featuring a classic wooden writing desk an antique styled cupboard and a four post bed. The food is excellent though the Pizza Rustica Piccante was really spicy. All in all...amazing space to disconnect from the hustle of the city.

We booked via a travel agent. So cannot help there. I have a feeling the hotel was shutting for refurbishment. It might be worth calling them. Although, we didn't find the reception staff that helpful.
