The Viceroy Hotel is centrally located in busy Chinar Park only 20 minutes away from the airport. The area is going through renovations and construction of a train overpass across the street. Due to this and traffic it was always noisy.
The hotel is well-run. My room was spacious, clean, with a comfortable bed, stocked with tea and coffee bags and bottles of water, The bathroom had fresh towels and toiletries. The air conditioner and ceiling fan kept the room comfortable, and helped mitigate the outside noise.
Breakfast served at the restaurant featured food and fruits for all tastes. A fan of Indian food, I enjoyed the various regional dishes, breads, and chai tea. The restaurant staff was attentive and ready to help.
All the staff: front desk, porters, room attendants, etc.; was professional, courteous, and nimble.
I really enjoyed my stay.

A new and nice hotel near to the airport, stayed overnight while transiting form Kolkata. Check-in was quick and fast, room was spacious , neat and clean , amenities are good and enough, bed sheet and towels are cleans and tidy. bathroom was clean and amenities are enough. Surprise and trendy to see fan in bathroom, wi fi was complementary and fast. The Only down point is the limited choice in breakfast, though good in taste, had some south Indian choice, but need improvements, good staff at the restaurants. will sure recommend the hotel.

Stayed there for 2 nights from 10,November 2014, it was an absolute pleasure. The hotel is a haven of peace amidst the chaos and bustle of Kolkata. Our room was lovely and very well kept, fresh water was provided daily. Breakfast was a sumptuous feast and had a nice atmosphere. Wifi signal was little weak but available free for whole day which was adequate for us. The biggest asset this hotel has is the staff. They go out of their way to be pleasant and polite to guests and really made us feel welcomed - from being greeted at the entrance to the waiters to the housekeeping staff, I cannot praise them enough. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again if I came to Kolkata.Mr. Kishor Kumar Singh answered all my queries before arrival via e-mail,special thanks to him.

I had a very good experience at Hotel Viceroy in Chinar Park at Kolkata. This is the third time I am conducting the training-cum-workshop three days program in their Hotel. The Hotel Manger Mr. Pratik Saha and Mr. Kishore Kumar with other staffs are very helpful and cooperative. The Hotel have deluxe room and a delicious restaurant within the hotel premise. The Conference Hall has a accommodation of 30 max People with Projector and PA System facility. Thanks to the Viceroy team for their continuous support. Near to Kolkata International Airport Dumdum of approx 5 km.

After receiving a booking confirmation I arrived at the hotel only to be informed that they cancelled my reservation without asking or informing me.
The manager Pathik Saha was incredibly rude and unhelpful, and told me it's not his fault and there is nothing he would do.
Thanks to the incompetent staff at this hotel I now have nowhere to sleep in Kolkata tonight

Stayed for a night at this hotel. Property near to the airport. And lots of eating places nearby. The room is having a smell, and also a bit outdated. Front office staff was very slow. Checkout early was also slow. Can again stay, if the price is low.

Excellent hotel, very clean and cosy boutique property. Nice welcoming staff, good clean basic toilet. Had a very short stay,used this hotel as transit.My room was small but clean and cosy. Tidy and clean linen.

Stayed there for only 1 night between two flights coming back from trekking in Nepal. The receptionists were openly looking down on me because of my outdoor clothing and backpack however my money is the same good. The room was OK but the sound-proofing was non existent. The room was horribly noisy looking to a 6 lane main road where heavy trucks were, I could sleep only a few hours. After midnight the personnel started to clean one of the rooms with vacuum cleaner, ridiculous! The 10% luxury tax was not indicated so the final price goes up 27% with taxes. This is unfair as they don't indicate it previously.

Shocking service, this hotel resold our rooms (we had 3 double rooms booked and confirmed) so we arrived at 9pm wanting to get some rest before an early flight from Kolkata airport in the morning and found that we had nowhere to stay and the rooms were all fully booked - despite us having a full confirmation by email from booking.com. If they cannot use bookings from booking.com which we have never had problems with before they should remove themselves from the website. Do not stay here if you want a reliable place to stay, there are plenty of much better places close by with significantly better customer service.
