It is always a Pleasure to be back at The Grand , Mayan Dhawan the Hotel Manager doesn't leave any stones unturned, 3 days at the hotel were the Grand way, every way possible.
Mr. Belal was throughly missed, as he takes care of my cozy suite , Mr Nitesh Tiwari the laundry supervisor was on his toes and did his very best to make sure my room and trip we're perfect .Many thanks to you .

This is my first visit to the Grand Hotel and I always aspired to stay here as I up grew up seeing glimpses of it in Bengali movies. Thus I jumped at the first opportunity when I had to travel to Kolkata.
I have to admit that I am completely bowled over by the sheer warmth and hospitality I received from the staff.
Before check in I received a mail asking to submit the ID proof for smooth check in. I replied stating that I am uncomfortable sharing any documents over email and would request a secured link to upload the documents. The next day it was made available and I did the needful. Thus when I landed and informed my name the staff was ready and to escort me to the room. Koushikee( pardon if there is a spelling mistake ) escorted us to the room and gave us a tour of the property and explained the facilities available in the room.
Everything was perfect about the stay. Perfect bed and pillow to sleep. Quality toiletries in the bathroom. I struggled a bit with the bathroom shower fitting though but it’s more to do with my ignorance than anything else. The study table was perfect and I loved to work sitting there. The hotel also provided a smart TV. The Internet gave some trouble intermittently
I would strongly recommend to take a pool side room which comes with a balcony. You probably can sit and enjoy your breakfast. Alternatively if you want to sit beside the pool tables and have a breakfast be there at 7 am as tables are provided on First come first basis.
We also had a dinner in Ban Thai and it was one of the best dinner we had post pandemic. Overall a wonderful property where I would want to stay again
I have one request though. If you can stop using plastic water bottle and replace it with glass bottles in the room. It will allow you to provide sufficient quantity of water to your guests, reduce plastic wastes and also reduce cost of acquisition of water. I hope when I come down next time I would see a plastic bottle free room

Victorian splendor with caring staff. This is not the most modern accommodation although there are enough outlets, good beds and reliable internet. But The Oberoi is about feeling pampered and cared for. Check in happens in an instant while being given lemon tea and a wet cloth to wipe off the road dust. Food is delicious and the pace is of a different era. Surroundings are unique - paintings, music, flowers all combining with a lavish attention to detail. Service is cheerful with solid responses even to unusual requests (cough syrup at 4am, no problem!) We have stayed at three different hotels in this chain and we will always check to see if one is available when we travel to India.

Everyone was exceptional. It would not be fair to name only one person / facility. Each and ever individual took care of the smallest possible details. We used to have our breakfast near the pool and the staff ensured that we were served properly. For dinner we requested for something which was not in the menu and the kitchen was about to close, still the staff ensured that our request was fulfilled.
Staff took such a good care of the minute things that Someone even kept a prayer mat and Mecca direction compass in my room. These guys touched my heart and soul with their gesture. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We have had a couple of family outings to the Oberoi Grand and have been extremely pleased with their service. Post COVID we have been extremely hesitant to take out our parents. My wife spoke to Shivani at Oberoi Grand and felt extremely comfortable about the health and safety measures taken. She is very particular and after speaking to few city hotels, it is only with Grand she felt comfortable. We prefer the pool side for breakfasts and it has been lovely family gatherings. Food is excellent and service is impeccable. Special mention for Ayush who served us both days. Also Suvarna Gurung Aditya were great. We will come back many times as it feels safe with excellent service.

We stayed in Oberoi Kolkata in September 27th - 30th. We stayed Room No 222 and 231. We felt very Safe in the hotel during this pandemic because of precautions and sanitization done by the management. All the staffs, with whom we interacted were courteous and ready to help. Break fast and dinner served in the restaurant were quite tasty, specially Tangri Kabab, Chicken Tikka, Paneer tikka, Chicken kathi roll etc... I recommend this hotel to all my Business colleague.

From the moment we drew up to the imposing entrance, we were treated as honoured guests. We were lucky enough to have been upgraded, and since it was my husband's birthday during our 8 day stay, they absolutely spoiled him. The room was gorgeous, bathroom was a tad dated. The toiletries etc was fabulous and to my joy, the bathrobes were of decent quality and size, unlike all the other 6 hotels we stayed in during our tour. The cleanliness was to a very high standard, not only in our accommodation, but in all parts of the hotel. The team, under the leadership of Mr Joshi provide a service 2nd to none - nothing was too much trouble ever. Always greeted with a big smile and a greeting. The breakfast provided in the threesixtythree restaurant was absolutely fab - great choice and fresh. We were there during the early spread of Covid-19 but the hotel took precautions from early on to look after the health and safety of their guests e.g. monitoring temp and sanitizers dotted around. The hotel was a haven of calm and tranquillity in the heart of Kolkata. We look forward to revisiting this wonderful retreat once more.

The Grand Dame of Kolkata or the Oberoi Grand is an experience worth enjoying. From Mayan, Koushikee, Debolina and others who welcome you to every little personalized service rendered by Deb and team at Three Sixty Three, makes the stay even more memorable. The room-service team even noticed that I was using my own shaving kit and left a can of shaving foam with a very sweet note!

Had an amazing stay.It has now become a second home for us.Since one fine day me and my wife came and stayed here for a night. An extremely healthy environment, with lovely cordial staffs and at times you might feel like speaking to a friend as you speak with one of them. Oberoi Grand is the place where you will feel pampered because they will spoil you, indulge you with complementary services. I've just stayed at the Oberoi Grand for six days and regard it as the best hotel in Kolkata (superior to a more expensive competitor ... mention no names). the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, the staff are polite and deferential (of course) - but not unduly obsequious, and the food in the restaurant (threesixtythree) is varied and tasty. I especially appreciated the manager, Mr Sumit Joshi, personally ensuring that a parcel I was expecting was delivered to my room within minutes of my arrival, being given some printing gratis in the business centre (only 5 pages, but I really needed them) and being up-graded when I booked an extra night. In all, my stay was very comfortable and pleasant. I would thoroughly recommend it to others who visit Kolkata. Of course Kolkata can be a challenging destination, but it is also rewarding. The other pleasant surprise was that when I checked out my bill was no more than if I'd stayed in a decent hotel chain at home in Australia, and that was with India's string of taxes and after having dinner in the restaurant most nights. Highly recommended. I can't think of any changes I'd recommend ... and that's unusual for me
