The quality and staff friendliness remains unchanged pre and post the lockdown. Every one is eager to help and serve they even help customers get customised items if necessary.
The buffet spread is very extensive and covers multiple cuisine styles ranging from across India (East, North East, Mughlai, Konkan etc.), Chinese, Continental etc. If you are interested in visiting all the counters and giving your taste buds a thrill this place offers value for money (the price is little on the higher side compared to other buffet spreads in the city, however I feel it is worth it).
When it comes to Covid safety protocols, strict adherence can be seen. The staff and guests wear mask, ample sanitizer (including bottles on individual tables), spray cans are scattered and placed across the dining hall. temperature and other checks are done at the gate. Valet parking is currently suspended and self parking is encouraged which is good and prevents others from getting inside your car. Even your shoe soles are sanitized while you enter the premises.
The decor and build is a mix of multiple architecture format and look stunningly radiant with impecable cleanliness.

One of the best hotels in town. Perfectly located. We were here for my brother's wedding. The staff were exceptionally helpful and went of their way to accommodate us. Starting from arrival, the bags and packages were all sanitized properly and brought in. Then comes the check-in which was done very smoothly, the welcome drinks kept were so refreshing and great. We were escorted to our rooms and explained all the hotel facilities and room features. Loved the iPad kept in each room, makes life easier. We could control the room lights, the ac temperature, order food from in room dining comfortably without even getting up. We had a lovely breakfast at the Grand Market pavilion. Plenty of options, typical Bengali breakfast, South Indian, northeastern and many more varieties to choose from. The staff ensured that every guest wore a mask, sanitizers were kept at each table, social distancing was maintained. Anisha and Angela met me and my family to ensure if they stay was going comfortably. Great hospitality.

Stayed in Royal Bengal to feel the Responsible Luxury at Kolkata. Stay was marvellous with courteous staff and great decor. Breakfast was marvellous with many choices. Basic amenities either available in room or provided on request. Single Use Plastic is totally eliminated. But in my opinion, ITC must request gas to bring own tooth brush or razor etc. as wooden item given by Royal Bengal are half wood and half metal/ plastic. Suggest ITC to routine tooth brush with a request to take it for regular use. This is good from Environment angle and economic too.
Suggest Sustainability team of ITC to either use a separate sheet for the Assurance Letters of Sustainability & Scope 1&2 emissions as this is confusing.
Finally, Royal Bengal this is bad on your part about not refunding the money blocked on credit cards even after 3 days.

The stay at ITC Royal Bengal was such a big disappointment. Newly married, Husband and I went to ITC for our first night (1st Dec'19)
1. The staff at the reception is highly inefficient. Took half an hour to check us in. Not kidding. 2. Welcome drink was supposed to be a juice of our choice. The only one they had was orange juice. 3. Toiletries, room slippers none of it was available. If you need a toothbrush, you have to make a call, if you need bath salts you have to make a call, if you need soaps you have to make a call. Reason- They are going plastic free. So nothing will be provided untill you call and ask for it. Even if it's 4am. 4. The horror of horrors was when we dint recieve their wake up call, their staff walked in the room when me & my husband were in a compromising position. Apparently that's the protocol. I do not work in the hotel industry to know the protocols. They should have informed this when i made a wake up call request at night.
It's sad to see that ITC is so pathetic with their service. Despite knowing that it was our first night, there was not even a single flower/piece of chocolate in the room. During the booking they confirmed that they will provide a bouquet of flowers, a cake, and decorate the room for the newly weds. Spending a butt load of money on this hotel is a mistake.
All in all ITC Royal Bengal just looks good on the outside. There's absolutely nothing else to it.
If you want a good luxury hotel experience walk across towards JW Marriott. Provides excellent service quality unlike the fools employed at ITC.
Mr. Bhalla, Area Manager of ITC Royal Bengal, You Sir, need to really look into the quality of training you provide to the sub-par staff you have hired. Frankly, OYO rooms have better staff.
Highly surprised and disappointed at the low class service. It's a shame that a brand like ITC is running this clown factory called Royal Bengal

I liked all the ITC hotels I have stayed in before. This was the first exception! The service is rather strange. If you do not have gold rings, etc., then the attitude towards you is completely different. In the mail I was offered a choice of several cars. And when I went to the concierge to book a car at the airport, in my opinion, the concierge decided not to ask what kind of car I needed and just ordered the cheapest one. The rooms are spacious and modern. But if you want to take a bath, you will be careful, water from the bathtub flows to the floor ... At the spa, I ordered Deep Tissue Massage. They was given a therapist who cannot do such a massage and she’s began to do me completely different massage. I said this at the reception at the spa. The next day, late in the evening, when I needed to fly off in the morning, they called me from the spa and offered some other procedure as compensation ... All in all, the only things great about this hotel are the restaurants…

Visited this hotel during New Years...we booked their two bedroom room service Appartment which is fantastic with good space and separate washroom for guests we absolutely loved the room. As we visited during peak season so the delay in room service was very much acceptable. Their spa service is very nice and they have all the necessary safety precautions in place.
Our Only concern was with their restaurant team. The morning breakfast which was served in Grand Pavilion and it is a delight: the entire hotel was packed but they ensured everything was served hot..few days we requested the breakfast to be sent to our room and the staff fully cooperated. They have an Italian restaurant Ottimo Itlania which is mostly packed we tried few times but never got a table, on our last night we checked again and found few empty tables for which we requested to please give it to us as we are staying and tables are as it is empty and it was almost closing time. After making us wait for good 10-15 mins they refused and made an excuse that they are not accepting any walk-in guests which I found ridiculous. We insisted and requested to speak to their senior manager but no one even bothered....After our stay during our check out we requested for Soft copies of the bill with GST details but they assured to share it but they never did....overall I would suggest to book a room only if necessary but avoid dining there as ITC sonar and JW Marriott is next door and have better options with much courteous staff..

I am a solo female traveler and staying here currently. Haven't been able to spend much time at the property but my experience has been good so far. The signature ITC hospitality, great food, mindful comfort and prompt service. Just a piece of constructive feedback- considering these are covid times, would be great if you could provide sanitizer/sanitizers sprays in the room so that we can disinfect our items. Also, the disposable bags are very delicate and tear off easily. These two things could be worked on. Otherwise a great stay overall. Keep it up!

I have booked this hotel because of luxury... I was expecting awesome service from them.. I got a good welcome from receptionist and the bell boy treated me well. I asked receptionist to give me luke warm water but she said we won't be able to provide u at the reception for very small thing they denied.
Room was good with good ambience. It was a honeymoon trip.
I ordered food from room dining the order taker asked me to pay bill once u get food by cash or card once u receive food. Than I paid by cash... I booked through Make my trip so that's why they behaved me like this..it was so annoying for not believing guest. Than I paid full amount
At 09 am I went to have breakfast. What we do it at home while someone inviting u for dinner . In table they didn't provide me water not even glass.. after my breakfast raise this complain to one of the intern over there . She apologised. When they gave me water they didn't provide me water.. i after 02 plate idli they provide only 01. Waiter forget to tell chef about it.
I asked reception to guide me how to get warm water .. took more than 15 minute to visit my room... Even my wife too get disappointed.

We went to ITC ROYAL Bengal on 25.01.2020 in a group of 17 people for availing dinner buffet, we all were very excited about it as it was our first time in Royal bengal. But our excitement was drowned as when we started to have the dinner, there was acute shortage of staff and servers, no one was allowed to take items from the counter due to covid, which is understandable, but problem is that no one is available in the counter to give the food, we have to wait in the queue for taking the food, which is unacceptable if we are paying close to INR 2000 for one person buffet. Also, being a vegetarian group, we had a very limited choice of food, there was no mushroom items in the buffet. Dessert options was ample and also good, it was the only good thing in the whole buffet spread. Dumpling had a very thick layer of maida, we also requested for a fresh dumpling as per our requirement, which was also ignored. Service was not atall upto the mark, leave behind 5 star hotel experience.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 days and the horrible experience began right from the time of check in. I had booked a serviced apartment which was not the cleanest one i have seen. The reason to book a serviced apartment is to get your own kitchenette with enough cutlery but there was absolutely nothing in the kitchen and had to keep calling for glasses or plates or anything and it took at least 40 minutes each time i requested for something. The in room dining was a joke, i called to order some starters and they said they serve only chicken tikka which is strange for ITC since it is known for its Indian food and i was expecting much more variety.
The housekeeping throught my stay was below average as food stains were alsways left on the table.
At the time of check out i was wrongly charged a room night whereas i had already made the payment at the time of booking. So i had to tell them to take it off my bill.
overall a bad experience. I have stayed at few of the ITC properties this one is my least favorite
