The hotel is situated in the crowded Kolkata Market, 5 min walking distance from par street. The positives about the hotel & negative about the hotel is location. It's exactly in the market so 1st time it's bit difficult to find the hotel but at the same time for business travelers or travelers who want to see the heart of kolkata and shop at park street/new market, the hotel is good option.

Being situated in the crowded market, plz don't expect good views from the hotel or a grand reception. Also the lift and corridors are narrow but the best part is room. The rooms are spacious, bed is comfortable so you can expect a good night sleep. The bathrooms are clean with all the basic amenities including good bath fittings and dental kit, shaving kit etc etc. Food is good but breakfast spread is average.

The staff is friendly, the bell boy can arrange a vehicle for your sightseeing or drop to airport or railway station

Overall a good option

Don't ever go to this hotel if visiting Kolkata. The worst pathetic food and service is disaster. Minimum wait for tea / snacks is 1 hour. You don't get basic amenities like soap, toothbrush etc. Worst breakfast ever had in any of the hotels

This is worst hotel I have ever stayed in any location. No TV working , No internet working, no hot water flowing, you need to ask for every basic things which you would expect in a hotel. Lot of mosquitoes, extremely awful bed and I couldn’t sleep whole and it has lead to severe back pain. Very very limted options in breakfast. No privacy, you can hear clear voice from near by buildings. Very rude staff and no ready to share number of hotel management. Please never ever stay in this hotel.

The entrance of Hotel Mark does not do any justice to what lies within. The reception area is tiny, the elevator seems to be from a different era altogether, making one wonder "have I made a mistake booking my room here?". But when once you enter the room, you realize that Hotel Mark is definitely a good choice. They have well appointed rooms and spacious and clean bathrooms. The hotel staff a efficient and helpful. It is definitely a good place to stay while on business in Kolkata.

I stayed here from 19-23 Jun 2013. Location wise this is very good. Very close to New Market area. Nearby to Park Street, Forum, etc. Rooms are of good size. Moderately clean. Restaurant food is good. People are helpful. I was here along with my wife and brother. This was part of our vacation.
Overall I felt this is not a family hotel. Many people (mainly males) are staying here for business purpose. It was noisy till mid-night. It was common to see that people do not close their room doors. When you are walking around you will see people lying in the bed, watching TV, without closing their doors!! This should be taken care off and should have focus for family comfort.

It is a good hotel in the area. Location and entrance is not so impressive. Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Little high priced. Staff is friendly. Restaurant is not very big but it is ok. Breakfast is average.
Internet is available in the rooms. Lift is very small, only two-three persona can be adjusted at a time with out luggage.
