Great place to stay, with all covid protocols maintained, rooms were cleaned as per standard, room temp was perfect with a city view, stayed in 606, would like to appreciate Soumya at front desk was really helpful and also the HK GSA- don’t know the name,
Only challenge was switch on bedside lamp, As its not visible, otherwise room was perfect to stay, Breakfast at coffeeshop was perfect with wide range of bufet, Tried dosa, just a suggestion dosa gets fried too much leaves a bit of burning taste, while frying sprinkled a bit of more oil.
Otherwise great stay to place, Cleanliness is superb starting from main porch, restaurant, elevator, rooms.

We spent a few days at ibis Kolkata Rajarhat as we were visiting Kolkata for a heritage trip. Very conveniently located from the main historical sights and yet affordable with a dash of luxury. The decor is quirky and fun. The hotel looks brand new and is sparkling clean. While the hotel is a good base for business travelers due to its proximity to the IT parks, it is also a great option for young leisure travelers. The rooms are tastefully done with all amenities that you would need for a short stay. You are welcomed into the coziness with handwritten notes which make you feel at home immediately. Everything is ibis standard which is great. Our dining experience with them was great. The menu had a good collection of local delights and the Chef seemed to have prepared the food with a lot of love. The buffet spread was sumptuous and I really liked their Chinese dishes. The highlight of our stay was the courteous staff that made our stay even more special. I would definitely visit again!

IBISM hotel Newtown Kolkata. Satarupa Mukherjee from front office and Sabrina from Restaurant department both are professional having polite and positive nature, they know there work verywell and deserve 5 🌟. Everything was good except the paranoia surrounding self-service in the restaurant during "buffet" meals... That was quite perplexing.
When you're permitting guests to consume meals/drinks in a public area, what was the roadblock in allowing them fill-in their own platter? This besides the fact that there were only one or two servers for a reasonably large number of occupants who decided to stay back in their rooms for breakfast implied agonizing wait for something that was within your reach... seriously, ridiculous.

While I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, With regards to your experience in our restaurant - we are still adjusting to the global pandemic and trying our level best to ensure that our hotel and facilities along with all the services are safe for all our guests. The reason behind to stop self service in buffets is to avoid any contamination as the ladles used to serve food are high touch points during the buffet service and could have a adverse effect. Thus, the entire hospitality industry is still in process to define a proper service sequence for our guests to feel safe and make it secure for them. These service guidelines are also in line with the Health Ministry and we also hope that soon we shall go back to the usual service sequence. Ibis has very bad quality of mattress - extremely soft and no back and lumbar support. The food options are limited and Chefs don't know how to make basic food. On the floor where we were staying, they started doing paint related work in other rooms and due to that they switched off the AC of the entire corridor and switched on hallogen and heaters to dry the paint. Due to that it got extremely stuffy and there was lack of air. After we complained about the same, it was stopped for 2 days and they again started the same. The manager Anil Roy Kapoor came an apologized after we had complained but then when it started again after 2 days he was not even aware of the same. Laundry is overpriced for a 3 star hotel. Accross the road a 4 star hotel Fairfield by Marriott charges much less for the laundry. Ibis doesn't offer any long term stay benefits unlike other hotels of the same category. During the buffet breakfast service the staff started sorting the dirty plates and dishes right next to the table where guests are eating breakfast. This is very unhygienic. After we complained to the F&B incharge Ganpat they removed the cart, but again the same thing happened the next day. Housekeeping and Front Desk staff are very good. Proloy and Mrityunjay good housekeeping services. Komal, Prateeksha and Shubhankar were very good front office staff.

Hotel is having cleanliness issue. Hotel staffs are not well trained . Do not add Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner in your package worst food, limited menu and service js not good generally takes huge time to serve food .Room service is not good for long stay they do not change bed sheets and towels.They do not provide basic equipments as per 3 star hotel standards.

Ibis Kolkata Rajarhat is located about 10km from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Rajarhat/Newtown locality which is a bit far from city center. This is primarily a business hotel serving IT offices in the neighborhood as tourists would prefer staying closer to the city. Cash rates were very reasonable at around $40/night.
There was no work desk in the room and the only way to work was using the sofa as well as a small portable table. The shower was pretty small like all other Ibis hotels I have stayed in.
The hotel restaurant serves lots of options for the breakfast buffet. They rotate most of the Indian menu items every 2-3 days.

Mritunjoy was very good. He is a good house cleaning staff. The housekeeping staff in ibis is very efficient and they will maintain your room very well and fulfill all your needs. he is very courteous and receptive. Rooms are clean and well maintained.
