I am a little surprised to see negative reviews for this hotel , yes the rooms are a little dated but they were clean and functional and the beds in both rooms I stayed in for a total of 7 nights were very comfortable . The service was super , I did not need to call more than once for anything . The decor is tasteful , very impressed with the photo frames in rooms that depict life in Kolkata . The location is just next to the vibrant Gariahat market , 6 kms away from park Street and there are some really nice eating places located near the hotel . I also ordered via food delivery apps a few nights , the hotel did not have an issue with that . Parking space is restricted though . I am sure the management will renovate rooms in the coming time , I think the hotel is a great choice for this part of Kolkata and cost effective too

Third stay at Metropole. Ambience, staff all left me happy enough to leave a note here. Added thanks to the staff for paying attention to all my requests. Thank you again for making me feel at home, my stay here was a pure delight. Hotel staff is faultless. Only room for improvement can be that the breakfast can add varieties to their daily morning selection.

The hotel is very well located for visitors interested in South Kolkata. Hotel has most of the facilities, however a bit dated. The deluxe room was spacious and found very comfortable. Rooms do not offer a good view of the road due to absence of proper window. Eating option are plenty due to presence of many restaurants nearby. Lake is close by for morning/ evening walks. Personnel were friendly.

Except for its location, there isn't a single good thing in this hotel. The first room we were showed smelled of cigarettes, with stains on bedrests, an old ac buzzing. Then we were moved to another one where again the ac didn't work. On the final movie, by then we were exhausted, we were in a room where the door didn't lock properly. There was no extra latch, bolt or anything for guests safety. When told the manager said that it couldn't be done at short notice. At night we had to move the two chairs and the table next to the door in case anyone walked in. My elderly aunt want petrified of the situation,we being three women travelling. Got up with the creaking sound of the exhaust. In a early risers city like Kolkata, i. This hotel the restaurant opens for tea at 7:30. The tea kettle in the room had a lid coming off, and the temperature control inside falling off when used.
All in all a very poor experience. Would not recommend at all. There are much better places available in Kolkata at this price.

Checked in on Oct 26th night 2023. Got room tied up and was served Dinner in the room itself. Variety of dishes available during bf and best of all cooperation and positive attitude of the staff. The hotel has beyond doubt locational advantage being located in the heart of the city being in and around the market area.

Worst hotel ever. I beg you all to not stay here. The owner and staff are extremely arrogant and have no care for the customers at all. My wife was stuck in their washroom for 45 minutes because their lock was malfunctioned. They didn't even apologize for this. I request you to stay on the streets but don't book this hotel.

The experience in the hotel is horrifying. The staff are very rude(Specially the manager Abhay Shaw) and unprofessional and I will not recommend any one to use the hotel facility as it will be just waste of time and money.Many better hotels options are available in near vicinity. The hotel has no charm and the staff is always ready to ruined your evening or meeting. Big NO NO from my end.

I recently visited and spend 3 nights 21-24 March in Kolkata Metropole hotel, everything was perfect except hotel managar Arnab kumar who is no good manner how to respect the guest no welcome drink no friendly staff, he over charged for airport pickup and I cancel city tour with him then he trying to make money different way two time as I booked room with daily breakfast and he want extra charge for the room rent also as I did all clear by mail,

Booked this hotel after looking at their website and pictures posted there.Upon looking at the images, the hotel rooms looked well and fine. I even went through tripadvisor reviews about this hotel and could remember that one of them posted bad review about their rooms. Somehow that nightmare came true.
I stayed in Room 407 of this hotel and believe me it was horrible.I was being charged 4500 INR per night for such a pathetic conditioned room. The walls have some sort of seepage and and are having moulds. I have posted the pics of the walls. One could clearly see there is black fungus growing on them. Wooden floor seems to have worn out totally and you could see that they are broken at places.
My 13 months daughter developed non stop coughing the moment we entered this room since she is allergic to such fungus and smell. The smell was worse especially when you step inside the room after coming from outside. Complained to the manager but he refused that they dont have any alternate rooms available.
Please dont get carried away by the pics. Think twice before booking.

conveniently placed - very easy to access on the main road, and in a very well connected part of the city. yet very peaceful inside. quite reasonably priced for the location and quality of hospitality. the room was smart, neat, and comfortable.
