Stayed between 30th December 2019 to 1st Jan 2020. Had incorrectly booked a single room which was quickly upgraded at extra cost. The check in and check out was efficient and quick. The complimentary breakfast is really superb and has a wide variety for the entire family. Room service is impressive and fast. The rooms are very well maintained and given the location and time of our visit, the tariff was reasonable. There is absolute ease of connectivity and lots of options for eating out nearby so you can save the cost of lunch and dinner. Haldiram is just opposite but the better options are just adjacent where you can find outlets selling pretty good quality Chinese and mughlai food. There are bars nearby if you want to wet your throat. All in all, if you want to enjoy the perks of staying in a real hotel and not a bed and breakfast place, in and around the Park street area, this has to be amongst the top choices.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The location is great. The property is on Camac street and opposite to Haldiram's fast food joint. Several of the places to visit are close to the hotel. Right in front of the hotel, there is yellow taxi stand so transport is never a problem. Only Dakshineshwar Kali temple and Belur Math are far from this location. But one can take the metro from Rabindra Sadan metro station and you can reach Dakshineshwar in only 30 minutes.
Food served at the hotel is fine. There are several eateries nearby so finding good food is never a problem. Monkey Bar is just a 1-minute walk away from the hotel and has a good view of the Victoria memorial. There are multiple CCTVs on almost every floor so I felt safe. The rooms are clean. The AC works consistently and we had no issues. The Senator hotel is great for those who are visiting Kolkata. The staff is friendly and they attended to requests very promptly. The hotel didn't charge anything extra for early check-in. I do have some minor complaints such as, old furnishings, curtain near the commode, old cups, and others. But on the whole, our stay was good. The restaurant within the hotel is also nice. It has great empathetic staff and the place serves good food.

Good budget hotel with very good complementary breakfast....
Good spacious room....
Cleanliness of the room is satisfactory..
Bathroom water drainage needs to be improved.. Some times water accumulate while taking bath.....

Very good location (in central Kolkata) with many nice restaurants and shops within the walking distance. Extraordinary, helpful, friendly staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable rooms (if possible, take the lakeside one).

I stayed there in February. The hotel is a corporate one. So don't expect much. Room was ok. They can choose good color combination as the current combination made the room look cheap. Bathroom was ok. Food was good but room service was slow. Staffs were courteous but frequently using Bengali. For the price they offer, Golden Park is a better choice nearby. Overall ok experience.

Though the hotel is located centrally, this hotel I would rate as poor. It is not equal to the value of money we pay for the room, rooms look old, untidy, booked a room for family with kids and there are two separate beds that we have to join, water running to the room from bath room and what not. The food quantity is very low as compared to the price we pay. I would not recommend it for families, but for one day business trip having work in park street and surrounding areas, it is ok.

Simple and neat, with great service extras. Had a wake up call at 04:30 to catch a train, call came promptly followed by coffee, biscuits and a packed breakfast delivered to the room. Check in and out a bit slow. Rooms basic but spotless and shower was walk in and had great pressure and lasting hot water. Wifi is complementary!

This hotel is located in the center of town near Park Street. The Gold rooms have been recently refurbished (Jan 2015) and have good amenities.
However food-wise the hotel is average which is not a problem since several great places like Peter Cat, Bhojohori, 6 Ballygunj Place are within a couple of kilometers.

Checked into this hotel when I was in Kolkata last week. Although it does not have a sprawling lobby or an exceptional ambience to boast about, you can be rest assured about a pleasant stay for 1-2 nights. Stayed here for 1 night, and the hotel was able to provide me with all the necessary facilities to comfort my stay. The staff and service are a little slow as compared to other hotels in the same tier, but the location can compensate for that!
